- So one day I decided to shave my head ... 2 days later here I was sitting in a chair, with fifteen people in front of me, and my pregnant art teacher looming over me with the buzzer. Here is what happened.
The hair got donated to Locks of Love, and I am very happy I did it. I love my hair short and hope this convinces other girls to shave their head if they want to, even if it is against the social norm. Hope you enjoy the video!

Thank you everyone saying that I look like an actress/beautiful it is flattering and makes my day.
Also I am not a lesbian, nor am I offended if you say I am.
As of right now I am growing my hair out. It is really curly and it has a lot of volume. I am going to let it keep growing until I feel like something different.

I definitely realized that it takes longer than a few days to have hair grow back to full length but for me what I got out of the experience was being spontaneous and not worrying about the little things and taking a chance and who knows you may just like it.
Since then I have tried growing out my hair but I have always gone back to short because it is easier, more freeing and overall I actually feel more beautiful despite what anyone else may think. I even cut my own hair now.
It is great. I simply salute you. One thing which I noticed that on every stage of hair cutting your looks did not vary strangely which I think, means that you are really beautiful and your beauty is not going to change with external factors.
@crystalgayleaddict Art is not what it used to be a few decades back. Most contemporary artists would not find the painting of a lighthouse hanging in someone's living room as art. It is really hard to pinpoint what art actually is, and of course it is subjective for everyone. This was not the completed project, but just the medium to start it. In the end I had to find a way to really condense the situation I put myself in into bite size pieces so a viewer would be able to understand it.

I actually just buzzed the back of my own hair about a week ago gradually having it longer in the front and I am loving it! I do have to say buzzed hair feels really good. That is a bit of a side note though :P

@FruitLoopUSA hmmmm, well short hair is much easier to handle than long hair, and my hair is a lot healthier too since it doesn't have any chemical relaxants in it. But looking back I also miss my long hair too.
But I love my hair now, so I definitely would not take back what I did. I actually feel more confident now after stripping off that part of my ego.
So to answer your question, I like my short hair better :)

This is awesome. I was looking for inspiration to buzz my head tonight, and i think this has made me want to do it! i have been considering it for awhile, but am sooo attached to my bangs that i've been struggling with making a solid decision. But, you're right, It will grow back. Plus, if I really hate it I only have to wait a few months for it to grow out to the length I have now, which is already short. Thank you soooo much for posting this!
all the girls i know are tossing out the scrunchies so i'd say never go that route. but head bands are in. As well as large claw clips and oxfords.
@MrJDenver thanks for the compliment about what I looked like before, but I am really happy with my decision, but I understand where you are coming from. Most guys like girls to have long hair.
trust me, i was scared out of my mind. it's something you just have to do. no looking back. and it is SO much easier! so i say go for it, i thought i would look horrible

People mainly just made comments about it, they would compliment it or tell me i should have kept it long. I was occasionally called a lesbian or butch but that never really bothered me. Other than that I was not treated any differently. It is up to you whether or not you want to cut your hair. I thought it was a good experience, but I am now growing it back out.
@TheMamadeira Last, about definition: Fetishism is about objects. Hair is not an object but parr of Body. This is the reason why people using the expression Hair fetish are wrong. Hair has unfortunately turned too much as kind of fashion accessory, which is the source of the error!

i'm doing the same thing when I come back from my backpacking trip in August! I'm planning to cut it close to the scalp first, though, so that I can maximize the amount I have to donate
@Maniahum Trust me, if anyone believes that, it's me. But it won't stop others from looking at me like I was gay. And no, you're right, people's opinion's shouldn't matter. and in most cases they usually don't to me. But I'd be lying if I said it wouldn't bother if someone called me a lesbian behind my back or even to my face. and that hurt comes from something deeper I've dealt with my entire life

@GiverSSJ I had, and if you go to the follow up video I posted awhile ago you can see what it looked like grown out. But I grew it out some more a few months after that until I went to the hair dresser to get it trimmed and look less helmity
yeah haha people can get really attached to their hair. but i feel kinda better about myself. i dont have anything to hide behind anymore :P

@TheMamadeira You named it, I don't. Well if all is an object, so everyone is fetishist, and the word itself doesn't mean anything anymore. Usually festishism is looked over as wrong and bad. I have not decided this, and agree, but this is how it is.
I think I got it shaved before Christmas. And it took me awhile to edit all the footage.

@Dawnstar42 Well as you said, a lot of people view it ... and there are hundreds if not thousands of them on youtube... So some people like to see them, and I but a single time.
Still don't know what this has to do with art... though.

@Thezackhavoc i have met a few people who were surprised that i have short hair, but not really anyone who makes fun of me for it. My brother has mentioned the word butch a few times, but other than that there really isn't anything that I would consider insulting. I do know a lot of guys who miss my longer hair though, but pretty much an equal amount who like it shorter. I guess it is just preference. It helps to have a more feminine face and body though.

The only big difference was I stopped wearing a necklace that I usually wore because it looked weird on a bare neck. Other than that not much has changed. I really only used hair ties before that. Now I am spending a bit more on clips and head bands because I am growing my hair out :)

how long has it been since you shaved it off? and are you gonna keep shaving it off?
i don't know why girls care so much about what society will think of them when they shave their heads. i shaved my head a couple of weeks ago, and i've never felt so good.
Awesome I had really thick hair down to my waist and my friend got cancer so I shaved it off, pretty weird feeling

@teddybearshapter I guess that for some people anything can be art, but as I peviously said I can't myself consider destruction job as art... At least if the result would be beautiful, but it can't be in my opinion.

It is also known that some people did profit of all what was removed from people in the death camps, hair, gold teeth, clothes, etc...
WOW this is crazy but amazing! i used to have extremely long hair..all threw out my life i have let my hair grow until i was in fifth grade i cut my long hair!! i had my hair up to my knees lol..until one day i went to go get it cut i donated my hair to locks of love like Dawnstar42 did! now im a freshman and i have my hair mid way to my back and i plan on cutting it shorter bt idk if i should lol! anyways you look gorgeous with short hair!
If you should ever do this again, please reconsider who you donate your hair to. Locks of Love really isn't the company they profess to be. Some googling or looking on Wikipedia will let you know where the hair actually goes, and how much money they make from your heartfelt donations.
That being said, this was fun to watch and you looked lovely!
I had a lot of hair ripped out two days ago, alot of it on my crown and framing my face. It happened two days ago and I am looking everywhere to figure out how the process of growing it back will work. Any experience you can share?

@BarathriDomina I am starting to grow it out ... when its straight it almost touches my shoulders, but since my hair is curly it just kinda fluffs up :/

The date you posted the video is Jan 2nd. What was the actual date you cut it? I am just trying to figure out how many months between the cut and the follow up video. BTW, you look great with short hair.
@kisa1201 Hahaha, that was my art teacher, and nope it was more of an art project than an actual haircut so yeah it wasn't clean shaven

@chocolatechipcokies um its been about 8 months since ive shaved my hair, and i havent shaved it since. I did get a professional trim about 2 months ago though, and I have been trimming it back myself as I see fit since.
I am not sure whether or not I am going to shave it again, if a reason comes up though I would probably do it.

@crystalgayleaddict I am not sure how you would relate this to voyeurism, but the shaving fetish I could see. When I first posted this video up on youtube, I thought I would really be the only person who would have done something like this. In the first hour I got 200 views and so I knew something was up. So happens a huge amount of people with short hair fetishes liked my video. At first I was really disturbed, but guess what, I get paid whenever people watch this video, so oh well :)

@Jennycherie1 Right now I am trying to grow it out again, I was getting tired of the short hair. It is a few inches away from my shoulders, so it still isn't very long. I don't know whether I will shave it again or not, I probably will if I ever want to again.
