JoesGE.com is a pretty cool place (depending who you talk to it might be more than pretty cool. But hey, I'm just writing this down so that it says something down here, because that's more professional right?) and if you're still reading along at this point you might as well sit down and grab some popcorn because this is about to trail on about how we are this premiere repair service located in Washington State North of Seattle in basically the "Armpit of the US" near Mt baker (Mt Baker has the world record for most snowfall at 1,140 inches in a season). Even though it can smell bad around here we love the fresh air and being near the post office and in a quiet sleepy mountain town certainly gives us much closer access to Team Turtle and Team Beaver (Watch our "Who, what, when and where is JoesGE?" video if you don't get the reference).
All this to basically say that we are all addicted to coffee and stay in the warehouse for ridiculously long hours in order to keep up with the demands of the youth for these two sided head audio devices and speakers that float when you throw them in the ocean or in your bathtub to test if they actually float. On top of that we do like it when less stuff ends up in landfills so we hoard everything on shelves with wheels so that we pollute less, it just sits in our warehouse loosing molecules slowly over time degrading to become smaller and smaller.
If you are still reading at this point you deserve an award, or a high five, or something because you must either be the most patient person on the planet, or you read blogs frequently. And if the latter is the case, then this whole thing must seem pretty short so lets keep going.
We do some really interesting things here at JoesGE which are frequently documented in our sometimes weekly sometimes never vlogs.
Also, if you are wondering how we keep up with the demands of the people so well, its because 90% of the people that work here are all Russian around getting things done most of the time. Yes, that was a pun, you are welcome. We hope you have a pun filled day, because who couldn't use a few laughs?

This video would have been a lot better and helpful if the last half and what seems to be the most important part to watch wasn’t cut off at the bottom of your screen. Couldn’t see the assembly of the soldered parts as you were soldering.

not recommended for the average DIY person. I would test the continuity of each terminal with a meter first to ensure none of the wire strands are touching one another BEFORE testing with your phone. If one strand is shorted, it can short out your phone! Another words, let a pro do this repair. :)

Hoping to use your service to fix a set of Beats EP with this issue on the jack. Doesn't show them as an option on your list to fix though or an option on your list of what you do not repair. This was my first thought of how to get hold of you. Also would be nice to have even an idea of what it may cost. There is no option to view on the website. A little gunshy to send them off without knowing how much a fix would be.. Any help would be appreciated.

One of the wires may be soldered incorrectly or in the wrong order. Also make sure that the wire are not touching any other metal on the jack (especially the large wire that is closest to the tip of the jack. Another issue could be your control talk board is bad.

My beats ep only work on one side the right one.
I only broke 1/4 of the jack by mistake and before that it works for like 2 weeks in a row without any problem. Did you think the problem is in the jack? I would not buy the jack and then see it doesn't work anyway after the repair. Sometimes the audio works by moving the cable. If i know that i go ahead to buy a jack and try to repair it. Many thanks if you can answer.

Thanks for the comment. The issue you are describing sounds like a faulty aux jack. This is a common issue with the Beats EP headphones.

Thanks for watching! You would solder the wires on to the back section of the jack that will be covered up when the repair is finished. And yes, there are spots for each wire and you would simply solder the wires on to the metal between the plastic. MD.

Hey Joe you need to edit your video. It says nothing about the green wire you just went from to wires and then you skip a wire. Maybe you can add some text on that part cuz you sped through it, yeah I just viewed your video about two more times you have a screw up at the end times it looks like you're jumping pass a step or something. Because all of a sudden you don't have that other wire there's four wires, you don't mention anything about the fourth one I mean obviously the last one would go on the last piece. But it's confusing because you don't show anything about the last two wires, if you actually mention we're all three go then the last one is obviously the last wire left.
