- After Fran takes Gracie to the doctor to treat her for the flu, he examines Fran and tells her she needs to get her tonsils removed.
From Season 1 Episode 15, 'Deep Throat'. Fran gets sick and has to have her tonsils removed. While sedated, Fran tells Mr Sheffield that she loves him. Maxwell worries about this but it turns out that Fran has been telling all of the staff in the hospital that she loves them.

It's true!! It's happened to several friends! One friend was going in for dental surgery to remove wisdom teeth. He wouldn't consent to general anesthesia and wanted a local only. They gave him a shot of Demerol for pain then asked if he'd sign a form to allow a general if the surgeon called for it. He happily replied: " Oh, sure! " and signed the form, a nurse shot something into his IV and he woke up with a mouth full of gauze.
General anesthesia for one wisdom tooth? I got local anesthesia and got all of my wisdom teeth pulled out. Not that there was much wisdom to begin with...

When I was 11, I had to have brain surgery to remove a golfball-sized tumor and when I woke up, I was completely out of it. Because of it being major brain surgery, I was temporarily blind after waking up. When I started to hurt, I started crying. Since I couldn't see, along with the medication making me crazy, I thought my eyes were bleeding. After one of my other surgeries to remove another tumor (aren't I lucky? Lol), the pain meds made me so loopy, I literally laughed for 36 hours straight. That time was actually fun
