When Maxwell asks her how to get it off, Fran suggest try blowing in his ear, which is a seduction technique some women use to "get him off".

She wasn't implying that he was five when she came to work for them, just that, in general, five-year-olds are cut some slack if they enter someone's bedroom without knocking. Just like when you tell someone who's behaving immaturely that they're acting like they're five-years-old, even if you didn't know them at that age.
