I mean, he mentions that his deck doesn't have any cards that destroy his opponent's deck, since that's like sealing away its potential before he can even see it. Except the whole point of _Duel Monsters_ is to put your opponent at a disadvantage and open up holes to victory. Had Jesse prevented Jaden from summoning Neos, he wouldn't have lost.
Amber is a gem that can fossilize organisms and they used it in a mamooth. Now of course there is literally no way you can find mamooths in amber but still its a really clever use of the gem.

I do love how the beasts had their own voices and personalities. It was a brilliant(pun not intentional) contrast to the fact that the neo spaciens had them too.

We need those Advanced Crystal Beast monsters in the TCG. Also I would be happy with either, although buffed retrains of the originals would help the deck a lot.

advance crystal beasts should be their retrain versions imo. Crystal Beasts have amazing spells/traps but their monster lineup is lacking. Just give them the "this card is always treated as X" so that you can't have like 6 pegasus in your deck. Would love to see modernized effects for all of them (and some entirely new ones as well)
U have 9 copies of Pegasus already (I think) so I see ur point, but the deck needs it because it's a bad deck in terms of gameplay. Some decks just need that much extra support to be playable, let alone good.
@@yusheitslv100 the entire point of making the advance crystal beats is so that the deck wouldn't need to rely on a single monster to do anything. The point is to make them all be useful even if it's only in specific situations. If after the retrains only pegasus and carbuncle are good then the retrains failed!

Please yes, let the Advanced Crystal Beasts be a retrained version. Keep their gimmick of becoming Continuous Spells but expand on it, take example from Dragunity and Artifacts, make their field more consistently filled, and make sure to have all of them being Dark Monsters for that sweet and immense Dark Attribute support. Remember, Allure is unlimited here!

It's my mission to try and get every single card from the archetype 3 times - currently waiting on Crystal Bond to arrive, and for Zenith to come out. Really hoping it'll come out in the TCG soon... I'm also really hoping they'll get more monsters, with better stats and effects, to at least make a pure Crystal Beasts deck be playable... unfortunately, they're not really good at all nowadays... here's hoping...
Rainbow Overdragon is my favorite monster. I fell in love the moment I saw it. Here's something I noticed: Rainbow Overdragon's design is insect-like, this may be a reference to the GX manga, in which Jesse/Johan had an Insect deck. His deck contained three level 8 monsters, two of which were Queen Butterfly Danaus and Butterfly Fairy. His deck had two monsters in the Papillon archetype (papillon means butterfly in French), one is Butterfly Fairy, the other is a level 4 monster named Rose Papillon. There is a debated third Papillon archetype level 2 monster, named White Papillon in English, but in Japanese its name does not contain Papiyon like the other two. He's big on butterflies, and Rainbow Overdragon has that rainbow butterfly dragon vibe going on.
I love this series and this is one really cool archetype, do you still accept scripts? I'm thinking in making a evil eye or superheavy samurai to send.

the Crystal Beast deck was one of my favorites but never ended up using Rainbow Dragon, since it was a pain to use, and since I wanted a 4000 wall, I went with Hamon Lord of Striking Thunder.

I remember playing them on yugioh online during the time spellbooks and dragon rulers came out and only stopped playing them when pendulums got introduced. Never played Rainbow Dragon tho. Mainly went for Rank 3 and 4 xyz monsters and having malefic cyber end dragon as my beatstick boss monster. Worked better than you'd expect back then... at least online :D
I honestly like this archetype, I mainly duel with light and dark attribute decks focused on summoning strong dragon cards, in both video game and irl situations, and the Crystal Beast archetypes are a great way to add an additional strategy to Lightsworn decks while adding another strong dragon, especially if you don't have all the cards in either series but just enough to pull off hybrid strategies. This is doubly true if you also have Twilightsworn as it makes it easier to summon Rainbow Dark Dragon.
I remember playing Crystal Beasts… It was fun…. During Synchro era, I used a Crystal Synchro deck. I remember what one of my opponents said ”That guy’s stalling me to death.”, due to me always getting to use Rainbow Ruins’ lvl 5 effect with Ruby Carbuncle. And since I always had at least one Sapphire Pegasus in there too. I always had a nice wall. Combine that with appropriate level synchros or well timed monarchs, as well as Dragon Queen of Tragic endings…. Fun times😊🥺😭
Crystal Beasts are an amazing archetype. Wish Konami made new C.B. monsters for more supports. My favorite Crystal Beast is Amber Mammoth because of his English VA
I think if they all got retrains and became pendulum monsters that would be cool. Ruby's effect would change a bit where you special summon the crystal beasts in your pendulum zones and Pegasus' effect allow you to set a crystal beast on a scale from your deck. When the crystal beasts are destroyed, they are sent to your extra deck. If you have all 7 crystals beasts in your field, graveyard, or extra deck then you can summon a fusion/pendulum monster for Rainbow Dragon. By using the extra deck instead of your spell/trap zone, it doesn't clog your field and prevent you from using spell and trap cards.

Personally, I think the Advanced Crystal Beasts should be released as re-trains so that they at least become Dark Attribute (if not also getting some abilities that improve their usefulness in modern yugioh) so that they can be used for summoning Rainbow Dark Dragon.
Absolutely they should add the Advanced Crystal Beasts, however, I think they should make them all dark type monsters, the same archetype effect, but slightly different "corrupted" versions of their unique effects
I hadn't even realized that the alternate artworks of the heroes were supposed to represent their darker selves - it would be nice to see that happening for the Crystal Beast cards as well! Though, if they had different effects from their normal versions in the anime, they'd probably be treated as new cards instead of just old cards reprinted with alternate artworks. Either way, it would be nice to see the dark versions of them in the tcg!
Yes! We need a Crystal Beast Structure Deck to improve the archtype! Maybe using the Advanced Form for a modern retrain and creating a new form for Rainbow Dragon with a negate could help them u.u)

This was the last deck that I ever played. I loved it because of the archtypes unique effect of not sending your monsters to the GY. That shut down ALOT of my friends strats. The trade off, was that I would brick a lot of the time, because I was just waiting for spells or traps I could use. The monsters themselves are very weak, and get run over easily. However, I would try to mitigate this by running the (very easy to summon) 4000/4000 monster Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder. If I ever came back to this game, I doubt I would play these again. The gimmick was sweet, and rainbow ruins is my favorite field spell, but I would focus on an archtype that was just simply more powerful.

Uh, Jesse I think I need to change my shell" & Jesse replies with "Now that's just gross" Also I think we need a card for the crystal beasts that you can discard it to search out rainbow ruins or advanced dark similar how you have warrior of atlantis to search out A legendaey ocean for example.

TGS, just wanna let you know, I started to play yugioh again because of your trivia. And I made a Mayakashi deck, the lore is just so interesting. But I'm not a big fan of the meta decks nowadays, all the first tier deck almost always end in one turn, even against other first tier, and it's really boring. without any back and forth. I hope I get to see a trivia on the Abhyss/Ogdoadic. And thanks again for another trivia!

Help. I can’t find a SOURCE to verify the story about the 7 gemstones for Julius Caesar’s painting/ lithograph. Is it made up? Because the yugioh wiki doesn’t provide any links. The wiki page for Julius also doesn’t mention it. Please and thank you.

I remember playing them on yugioh online during the time spellbooks and dragon rulers came out and only stopped playing them when pendulums got introduced. Never played Rainbow Dragon tho. Mainly went for Rank 3 and 4 xyz monsters and having malefic cyber end dragon as my beatstick boss monster. Worked better than you'd expect back then... at least online :D

I honestly like this archetype, I mainly duel with light and dark attribute decks focused on summoning strong dragon cards, in both video game and irl situations, and the Crystal Beast archetypes are a great way to add an additional strategy to Lightsworn decks while adding another strong dragon, especially if you don't have all the cards in either series but just enough to pull off hybrid strategies. This is doubly true if you also have Twilightsworn as it makes it easier to summon Rainbow Dark Dragon.

I remember playing Crystal Beasts… It was fun….
During Synchro era, I used a Crystal Synchro deck. I remember what one of my opponents said ”That guy’s stalling me to death.”, due to me always getting to use Rainbow Ruins’ lvl 5 effect with Ruby Carbuncle. And since I always had at least one Sapphire Pegasus in there too. I always had a nice wall.
Combine that with appropriate level synchros or well timed monarchs, as well as Dragon Queen of Tragic endings…. Fun times😊🥺😭

My favorite Crystal Beast is Amber Mammoth because of his English VA
Ultimate Crystal Rainbow Dragon Overdrive is in the Legend of the Crystal Beasts structure deck that came out last month.
I think if they all got retrains and became pendulum monsters that would be cool. Ruby's effect would change a bit where you special summon the crystal beasts in your pendulum zones and Pegasus' effect allow you to set a crystal beast on a scale from your deck. When the crystal beasts are destroyed, they are sent to your extra deck. If you have all 7 crystals beasts in your field, graveyard, or extra deck then you can summon a fusion/pendulum monster for Rainbow Dragon.
By using the extra deck instead of your spell/trap zone, it doesn't clog your field and prevent you from using spell and trap cards.

I really hope there will be more support for this archtype! I love it! The only other deck I can think of that could support them is the Crystal Wing or Stardust Archtype.

Personally, I think the Advanced Crystal Beasts should be released as re-trains so that they at least become Dark Attribute (if not also getting some abilities that improve their usefulness in modern yugioh) so that they can be used for summoning Rainbow Dark Dragon.

Absolutely they should add the Advanced Crystal Beasts, however, I think they should make them all dark type monsters, the same archetype effect, but slightly different "corrupted" versions of their unique effects

Watching this as Crystal Beasts is getting a structure deck! Hopefully we get it in the TCG :D
I hadn't even realized that the alternate artworks of the heroes were supposed to represent their darker selves - it would be nice to see that happening for the Crystal Beast cards as well! Though, if they had different effects from their normal versions in the anime, they'd probably be treated as new cards instead of just old cards reprinted with alternate artworks.
Either way, it would be nice to see the dark versions of them in the tcg!
Yes! We need a Crystal Beast Structure Deck to improve the archtype! Maybe using the Advanced Form for a modern retrain and creating a new form for Rainbow Dragon with a negate could help them u.u)
Pls no advanced. I dont like the dark versions of crystal beasts. Crystal beasts have to shine like a ctystal.

I love the designs of the Advanced Crystal Beast cards. Any way to bring them to life would make me happy
This was the last deck that I ever played. I loved it because of the archtypes unique effect of not sending your monsters to the GY. That shut down ALOT of my friends strats. The trade off, was that I would brick a lot of the time, because I was just waiting for spells or traps I could use. The monsters themselves are very weak, and get run over easily. However, I would try to mitigate this by running the (very easy to summon) 4000/4000 monster Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder. If I ever came back to this game, I doubt I would play these again. The gimmick was sweet, and rainbow ruins is my favorite field spell, but I would focus on an archtype that was just simply more powerful.

yes we need the advanced crystal beasts in the tcg, also I love the episode when Jesse & Zane are dueling & Zane summons cyber end dragon & emerald turtle says "Cyber End Dragon? Uh, Jesse I think I need to change my shell" & Jesse replies with "Now that's just gross" Also I think we need a card for the crystal beasts that you can discard it to search out rainbow ruins or advanced dark similar how you have warrior of atlantis to search out A legendaey ocean for example.

My personal favorite is cobalt Eagle, and emerald tortoise. Because those where my first crystal beast cards and I never understood how they worked. But they looked really cool
I really hate the fact they didn’t name them “crystal beast master” and “crystal beast keeper.” Having the extra names on field or even in the grave in some way would help so much

TGS, just wanna let you know, I started to play yugioh again because of your trivia. And I made a Mayakashi deck, the lore is just so interesting.
But I'm not a big fan of the meta decks nowadays, all the first tier deck almost always end in one turn, even against other first tier, and it's really boring. without any back and forth.
I hope I get to see a trivia on the Abhyss/Ogdoadic. And thanks again for another trivia!
