The new stations on the Levenmouth Rail Project as seen on 14th January 2024. The line is already running test trains and is due to reopen to passenger traffic this year for the first time since 1969.

Do you think that, in time, the railway might be further extended to Methil?

doubt it. Methil is only just over the river, so it probably wouldn’t be worth the hassle

As far as I'm aware there will be no electrification initially now, it was part of the plan and it's been designed to accomodate this later.

Yes, I believe that's why they are so long.

The upheaval and hassle this railway has caused the local people has been unbearable. I think with hindsight, it would not have happened. Upgrading the roads would have been better. By the way, whether you come to Leven by rail or by car, there is nothing here.
