Trains Return to Leven! The Levenmouth Rail Link
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 1 июн 2024
- Since 1969 Leven in Scotland has no Railway Station as it closed to passengers but after 55 years! On the 2nd June 2024, Leven Station has reopened by ScotRail as part of the Levenmouth Rail Link.
The plan is to take the 0830 from Leven to Cameron Bridge to have a look at the other station which opened on the same day before heading to Kirkcaldy to catch the first train which is going to Leven.

Cheers for linking our channels! Appreciate it!
It’s wonderful to see the new Levenmouth railway line now being reused and 2 new stations being built now officially opened. It’s taken quite some time but now it’s finally in service.
What a fun day, it was really great to see you there that day!
I really love watching all the different videos made because everyone always has different styles and perspectives, and as usual you don't disappoint!
Excellent video, good to see this line reopened to passengers
Oh god I am NOT JEALOUS THAT I MISSED THIS EVENT!!! I AM DAMMIT I AM!!!

That 158 haunts me in Inverurie 158725
its great to see the Levenmouth line open & both Leven & Cameron Bridge stations look amazing & im liking the Levenmouth livery on the class 158 which looks amazing & i def wouldnt mind riding that line in the future if i ever visit that part of Scotland again as i wouldnt mind visiting Leven as ive visited kirkcaldy when i was in Scotland a few weeks ago anyway brilliant vlog
It was an honor to be in this video today! Again, it was great to see you today!
Was great to meet you and thank you for making the day awesome
Aye it was good meeting you simon
Last September I went to Scotland with my mum and I got to see some ScotRail Trains at Edinburgh Waverley.
I hope you had a great time in Scotland last September
Great video well edited. Great to see Leven open at last. Your using some good video kit here, the quality is very good. I've noticed it through the last few months!
Thank you, I switched the gear back in December when I brought the DJI Omso Pocket 3 which the creator combo has a microphone. It's the same camera that GLovesTrains (Pigwelly) and AdventureMe has but also seen Will James Railways who from Australia use it as well.
Great video Simon!
Always good to see a line reinstated. 🙂👍
Thanks Ian
I made it later in the day was great to travel on fresh track and visit fresh stations and also leven is beautiful ❤
Hope you had a great time riding on the Levenmouth Rail Link
Great video, and I'm glad to have met you. I'm sure there will be a lot of people visiting Leven as it looks like a good place for tourists.
Thank you and was great to meet you as well. I do agree that a lot of people will end up visiting Leven, I stayed there overnight and is a nice town
Great vlog Simon. It’s great to see the new Leven route in Scotland open to passenger services.
Thanks Sam
You were quick getting this video up! Mine will be uploaded later today. It was nice meeting you at Leven.
Was editing it on the train to Edinburgh and was great to meet you as well.
Fantastic video Simon and really glad to see another new line well I say new reopened line come back to the network I’ll get the the at some stage in the future but glad you enjoyed it along with the locals 👍🏻
Plenty of shade thrown at Hyde Central - meanwhile thumbs up for creative use of Corten steel \m/
Fantastic, Simon - looks like a great day! Also love your “crew” that you had with you on the train!
Thanks MrGreatplum, it a day that I will never forget. The 'crew' were like that as soon as they saw me board the train, funny thing as well that they did the same to Nick Baldey.... yelling 'IT'S NICK BADLEY!!!' lol
Excellent video. Glad to see trains running to and from Leven again.
Thank you
Brilliant video Cyber, it's good to see trains are running to Leven again. The livery they've done on that 158 for this looks amazing :)
Thanks Reuben

@@Sim0nTrains welcome
7:18 Was good meeting you btw
ITS SIMON TRAINS!!!!!
I enjoyed hearing Jen's pronunciation of Kirkcaldy being corrected in 2 different videos
Great video Si! I was busy on the 805s so couldn't come up to the new line! Hope you cover the 805s soon!
I did hear the Class 805s have entered service today, may cover them Tuesday
@@Sim0nTrains Yes I was on the first one through Birmingham! Nice trains you should definitely cover them at some point!
Great video! It was great to get a chance to say hello to you too.
Thank you and was great to meet you as well
Cool to see an inogeral railway route launch, but would have been cool to see a company speech or something.
There was a speech before they let people into the platform, only a small quick one but sadly I didn't captured most of it. But most of the speeches were done on a VIP run which was a few days ago before it was opened to the public
@@Sim0nTrains ok. Thank you for the info. It was still a great and enjoyable video.
they were all there
Those fancy 'shelters' do leave something to be desired when you consider that Leven is right on the cooler East Coast of Central Scotland, which isn't exactly known for its balmy winters - or at least, not yet anyway. The site of the new Cameron Bridge Station is admittedly a little more sheltered, though I've every confidence that the whiteout, blizzardous conditions that do still occur in that part of the world - not to mention the ice-cold driving rain, sleet and hailstones that occur much more often, might just put would-be rail passengers off from waiting there when they can remain on warm feeder-buses instead... Not that that situation is vastly better, as the buses only call at the station in the very early mornings and evenings...! Now, I for one couldn't walk there: I wonder how many others like me, will remain excluded until it occurs to the powers-that-be that an all-day service from the nearby villages would be advantageous, given their high proportions of elderly and less able populations? I can understand them not wanting competing buses to call there, but most of those serving the nearby road run between Leven / Methil - Markinch / Glenrothes and therefore aren't in direct competition anyway! The other issue that remains to be realised is the extent to which groups of local youths hanging around these otherwise isolated stations will become a problem. The CCTV at Cameron Bridge was certainly working when I waited there with a friend for a Leven train as the games of two energetic little boys had become a mock-fight, prompting a special announcement for them to cease doing so that to be honest, they'd have missed has we not pointed out to them that it was them the announcer was talking about!
There will be many more new stations in Scotland to visit very soon.
Any chance of a cab ride just to see all the work that's gone into this line, nice video,😊
There is but sadly it just a fast speed one that ScotRail had published
you lucky ducky cant wait to go see the new stations and have a wee city tour of fife
i remember walking passed you a few times at Leven to get pictures and stuff for my video and at one point, you looked like you gave me a look of "what the heck is he doing?" 😂
😂😂 I do apologise if I gave that impression
@@Sim0nTrains its alright, no harm done, i did kinda laugh it off, to be fair i wasnt the only who wasnt trying to run round get everything done but i looked like a melon running around after i met Jen, i went to Cameron Bridge then rsn round there like a melon and almost got stuck in a lift then got back to Leven and ran to the sea then to Sainsburys then the train to get to Kirkcaldy, it was just hell lol
I was there aswell Simon I saw a 158/170 combo arriving
Did hear there was a Class 170 coming up to Leven but didn't see it sadly
Yea I saw that 170, it was connected with a 158 and there’s another 170 coming later which I won’t see but im definitely going back there soon
I was there this morning and saw Rob, Jen , David etc but I didn't see you.
You got the 1st train to Leven, sorry I had to dash at half 10 to get back to the Guest House to grab my things as checkout was at 11
Trains Station 🚉
Both look good Simon. The bagpipes were terrible.
It can fit a class 385 in a 8 carriage formation from Edinburgh to leven
best they can do is 2 😂😂😂 imagine stopping their 4-6 carriage operations a day later just cos it wasnt opening day anymore
Before the rail link opened, did people have to to Leven on a jet plane?
No, they do have bus links to Kirkcaldy and Markinch but the ride bumpy as well (had to do it Saturday to get to Leven)
Next: ride a class 805
did i see nick in the background or am i going train daft
Nick Badly was there, little further in the video I made a Badley Pun to Nick! 😆
@@Sim0nTrains i noticed i thought it was quite good
Rubbish
@@jamesdouglasjamiesonharrow7981 just like your comment, thanks for the interaction helps get the video seen👍
What a pointless comment, but at least every comment helps the video get noticed 👍
lol I see myself in the video
