youre all fucking idiots, rap in general is stupid as shit now. about 04 rap died. i dont know how any grown human adult can listen to rap now. i wouldnt take such person seriously
I know this will piss lots off people off but I think Eminem is the most talented rapper in history. Just from his personal experiences, overcoming addiction and all that crap he has a skill that is unrivalled by many others.
Eminem has mad talent, but declaring him THE MOST talented in history just shouts how few rappers you know. Sure he's up there in the top 10, hell, probably in the top 5, but the most talented is praising him too much. Personally, and most rappers would agree, Rakim holds that title.
I'm not surprised Lose Yourself is number 1. The lyricism, theme, song structure and everything with the song, is amazing. It's such an inspirational song that I could keep listening to it and wouldn't get tired of it and just feel as pumped up as the first time I heard the song. It is such a great song! It's a masterpiece!
I mean, a lot of rap is worth listening to cuz of the beats and stuff...hell snoop dogg (lion now.. xD) was good. But Eminem is legit and puts himself forward. Unlike rapping about big booty hoes and yams in a kitchen.

Black people underrate Eminem White people overrate Eminem He is top 10 rappers of all time sure, but when people say he is the G.O.A.T it makes me cringe. It also makes me cringe when people call him shit, when even his new music, which for him is average, is better than most rap artists crap they producing today.
I think he gets his props I just hate when people (usually white) pretend like he is the ONLY good rapper or only relevant rapper ever. Or they constantly bring him up just because the topic is about rap.
But i think he really deserved this one i would also not say that he is the best but i do think this song is more than worthy to be the best song of the 2000´s.
Bullshit, the underground scene has gotten weak. Jedi Mind Tricks suck now, Cage's new album sucked too. Canibus and even Immortal Technique aren't what they used to be. Rhyme Asylum are the best in the underground scene now, but they haven't released an album since 2010... nowadays the underground scene is full of internet rappers who think they're so good because they have Diabolic and Canibus on their album.

Kirko Bangz its a pop rap song so of course it won an Oscar. three six mafia also won an Oscar but they didnt make the list hmm.... someone is white while the others aren't. strange how that works
not sure how Nas did not make the list. One Mic is probably one of his best songs ever and is a lyrically complex song. Or even Ether, Made You Look, Queens get the Money. a Top Nas songs would be nice.

mrpurx Immortal Technique, Vinnie Paz, and R.A. the Rugged Man are underground rappers who have have very little impact on the commercial/mainstream Hip-Hop, and no decade defining tracks
Joseph Stalin "decade defining" is bullshit, they're just tracks that were played on the radio till they made your ears bleed. immortal technique dumps on all these fake "rappers"
WatchMojo.com maybe you should have mentioned that criteria in the opening of the video. still seems wrong to limit it to one song per artist when certain rappers have dominated the scene lyrically and musically.
my first cd i ever bought was curtain call and i was instantly hooked. em is my favorite rapper and i think it should be the number one spot, motivates a lot of people
Greg Dragoo dafuq? So just because i like malcolm X and appreciate what he did for black people during segregation i'm bias towards white people? Fucking fanboy
All the Ludacris songs and you land on Southern Hospitality? Not to mention In da Club is great, but Hate it or Love It with Game is about as good as 2000s hip hop got. There aren't many songs better than that.
Na chill. Southern Hospitality's beat alone was fire and then Ludacris' flow put him on the map. Hate it or Love it will never be as big of a track as In Da Club, stop it. In Da Club is known worldwide. Chill.
+MadeLunaa Alot of rap songs have hard lyrics, that doesn't make them automatically successful. Someone like Immortal Technique would be the first to know about this.
I would like to see what they would say for the last 5 years (2010-2014), very strange time for rap with some good rappers like Kendrick, Schoolboy Q, Drake (yes, I think Drake is very skilled he just gets hated on because of his background), and Childish Gambino, but lots of really bad popular artists like Rick Ross, Macklemore, and Future.
Add tech n9ne to good rappers and i would agree with this, besides the current drake. Old drake before he got signed and the year or so after was fine. But now he raps about everything he denied being.
I dont think that should be on the list, but well, if kanye west or lil wayne has 1 song on here, then nelly shoud be here too, cos hes not an emasculated cat screaming.
Reinis Aizsilnieks I live in Europe and Nelly was huuuge here! TI not at all. I don't know that song or the Common one. maybe it was big in USA don't know, but if it was up to me I'd put in Game feat. 50 Cent - How we Do and Nelly - EI
well these guys look at data (chart toppers, sales, albums released, tours etc), meaning only rapers that are extremely popular will show up! sadly fort miner is not a really popular band.
Drake didn't come out until like 2008 so I doubt he was even a contender lol but when it hits the 2020's he'll definitely be on the hip-hop of 2010's list lol
Burning Inferno Productions My point is... Why would you have cared if they chose to put him on this list? You don't have to listen to his music. He really is not that bad. I personally don't think he's amazing, but he's definitely talented. His last album was mediocre though.
I watched the top rap songs from the 90's before this, and there wasn't one Eminem song even on the honorable mentions list, so it's a relief to see Lose Yourself at Number 1.
Like it or not lil Wayne dominated rap in the 2000's. Underground mixtapes with the droughts and squad ups. Hit singles billboards- Fireman, Go DJ, a milli, etc Dope platinum albums- the Carter's 12&3 Countless collaborations- I need a soldier many many more
i dont think people are hating him because its cool thats just bullshit they are hating on him because his lyrics are trash (in his most popular songs thats for sure)
Don't be ridiculous. Eminem is middle. Nas would be the best. Ice Cube in his NWA days was unstoppable. And then I would go with some more classic rappers before modern ones.
are we talking lyrical ability? because if you think pac or ice cube are even close to as lyrical as Eminem, you're crazy. and there are people who match or are better than Eminem lyrically.
I have figured out why Eminem is the best rapper of all time... What truly makes Eminem the best rapper (apart from his skill of stinging words together to form extremely creative and clever rhymes) is the fact that he does not employ the use of Ebonics... His songs consist of proper English words unlike the major majority of other rappers (some rappers use Ebonics to the extent that the average person would not understand every second word)... The fact that he raps in proper English enhances his genius in the rap genre, enabling his songs to be understood by the average person which in turn grants him a larger audience. The fact that even 'honest' black rappers call him the best speaks volumes which I believe is attributed to the absence of Ebonics coupled with a creative and clever mind.

no i was born in the 2000s and 1990s is still better than the 2000s rap
His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms spaghetti
There's spaghetti on his spaghetti already, mom's spaghetti
He's nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and spaghetti to drop spaghetti,
But he keeps on forgetti what he wrote down,

He opens his mouth, but the spaghetti won't come out
He's choking how, everybody's spaghetti now
The spaghetti's run out, spaghetti's up, over, bloah!

Let’s be honest,,,, Eminem must have had at least 4 songs in that list
Same goes about weezy
Stan, The Way I am, The Real Slim Shady deserve to be in there
Not really
M could’ve had all 10 spots
@@omonray2010 no
Am I literally the only one that thinks Busta Rhymes should be on the list?
On the 90's list maybe, but not on 2000's list.
He was bigger in the 90s...but he had a lot of bad ass songs in the 2000s as well
Yes you and 16 other ppl
Nope! He should have been on this list
Or Nas? Or Mos Def? Pretty sure they picked this list off a Google search
Have you notice almost EVERY Rap song is about the same thing? Eminem was the only one who sang about anything other than Sex, Drug, Money, How good he is doing, and Haters...
Seamus Baconbits you've clearly only heard mainstream
Kendrick is about to pass everyone on the all time list. You might not agree with me now but wait 5-10 years from now. You'll see
Oh I didn't forget j cole. He will be up there too
I can definitely see Cole and Kendrick up there in a few years
Logic aswell imo
Jordan Hollifield he suck j cole is better than him and i don't see him on the list in 10 years
youre all fucking idiots, rap in general is stupid as shit now. about 04 rap died. i dont know how any grown human adult can listen to rap now. i wouldnt take such person seriously

@@aaronperry8452 I see what you did there
I know this will piss lots off people off but I think Eminem is the most talented rapper in history. Just from his personal experiences, overcoming addiction and all that crap he has a skill that is unrivalled by many others.
Lol its all in personal opinion, there is no such thing as the "best rapper" it's all about what you vibe with and enjoy
Eminem has mad talent, but declaring him THE MOST talented in history just shouts how few rappers you know. Sure he's up there in the top 10, hell, probably in the top 5, but the most talented is praising him too much. Personally, and most rappers would agree, Rakim holds that title.
lmfao i don't think someone with a MLP icon has the authority to declare who the most talented rapper in history is

Jared Wignall ikr. I feel like nowadays... Eminem is the only one who doesn't rap about black girls with big asses, and sex...
Yeah. It's sad what a majority of rap has become nowadays.
I mean, a lot of rap is worth listening to cuz of the beats and stuff...hell snoop dogg (lion now.. xD) was good. But Eminem is legit and puts himself forward. Unlike rapping about big booty hoes and yams in a kitchen.
Yeah, It makes you wonder what happened to make rap from what it used to be, to what it is now. I wonder that myself time to time.
ratmanand bobbin oh I think Em learned his lesson on rapping about black girls years ago lol
Couldn't agree more with number 1. Lose yourself is one of the best songs ever made.
What about Nelly? Country Grammar was off the chain!

He is top 10 rappers of all time sure, but when people say he is the G.O.A.T it makes me cringe. It also makes me cringe when people call him shit, when even his new music, which for him is average, is better than most rap artists crap they producing today.
And what do Asians say?
I think he gets his props I just hate when people (usually white) pretend like he is the ONLY good rapper or only relevant rapper ever. Or they constantly bring him up just because the topic is about rap.
But i think he really deserved this one i would also not say that he is the best but i do think this song is more than worthy to be the best song of the 2000´s.

Anyone saying Rap died in the 2000s have no idea how much better rap has gotten in the underground scene. All you have to do is look.
Walter White i agree. i don't even try to look for new stuff anymore, i just look for old gems that i might've missed in the last 30 years.
Walter White I agree. Eminem aint what he used to be, along with lil wayne and Kanye west
plus, tupacs dead and snoop dogg stopped rapping years ago

Don't think Eminem is the best rapper? Cool. Doesn't matter. THIS IS A LIST FOR BEST SONGS. He won the list for best SONGS of the 2000's. Of course he's gonna win this.
Plus Lose Yourself is a near perfect song.
It won an Oscar dude shut up
Kirko Bangz its a pop rap song so of course it won an Oscar. three six mafia also won an Oscar but they didnt make the list hmm.... someone is white while the others aren't. strange how that works
If you're white, yes it's near perfect.
This is not a list about the best, but decade defining, there's a big difference there.
The way the song is written is unlike anything rappers have done before. And don't disagree with me just google it.
all my stans where u at.......WE BLEW THESE OTHER RAPPERS OFF... NOBODY CAN STAND UP TO SLIM
calm down
not sure how Nas did not make the list. One Mic is probably one of his best songs ever and is a lyrically complex song. Or even Ether, Made You Look, Queens get the Money. a Top Nas songs would be nice.
He was on the 1990s list, we wanted to spread the love so we capped it to 1 song per artist per decade. You can disagree with that criteria...
WatchMojo.com cmon watchmojo. where is immortal technique? his one songs message is more powerful than kanyes whole career. HIP HOP is supose to uplift the ppl . Hip hop cultures 5th element - knowladge and u left out vinnie paz , aotp, and ra ruggedman for luda and weezy. da faq?
mrpurx Immortal Technique, Vinnie Paz, and R.A. the Rugged Man are underground rappers who have have very little impact on the commercial/mainstream Hip-Hop, and no decade defining tracks
And what about "Still D.R.E" or "Forgot about D.R.E"
They released 1999
They were released in 1999 off the album 2001

Lil' Wayne and Eminem don't deserve to be in the same list together. One is an autotune extraordinaire, the other is a lyrical genius.
Lol and it shows how horable lil Wayne is because i know which is which
Lyrical genius? No he has some terrible verses I love em but we give him too much credit
s103792 Win an Oscar first, and some Emmy's, you can see how difficult writing lyrics to go along with rhythm is. Really. Go ahead.
No one can lie, back then, Lil Wayne was loved by everyone and now it's totally different but at the time, he was really big lol

All the Ludacris songs and you land on Southern Hospitality?
Not to mention In da Club is great, but Hate it or Love It with Game is about as good as 2000s hip hop got. There aren't many songs better than that.
hyperbomb02 absolutely
Na chill. Southern Hospitality's beat alone was fire and then Ludacris' flow put him on the map. Hate it or Love it will never be as big of a track as In Da Club, stop it. In Da Club is known worldwide. Chill.
dance with the devil definitely should have made an appearance around the #1 spot
+Ross Brennan Dude... no way. Dance with the devil is a great track, but it's nowhere near as influential as the songs on this list.
+Peter Braun R U STUPID HAHAHA
MadeLunaa How many people have even heard of Immortal Technique? Case in point.
Peter Braun probably not that many but dance with the devil's lyrics are hard
+MadeLunaa Alot of rap songs have hard lyrics, that doesn't make them automatically successful. Someone like Immortal Technique would be the first to know about this.

I will say A milli was more deserved to be on the list
i can believed Drake best i ever had made the list and lollipop didnt.

Called Lose Yourself being first and a few other songs too, one of the first Watch Mojo lists I actually agree with.
I started laughing when I saw Lil Wayne in the thumbnail.Well played, well played.
notice they only put early 2000s music
I would like to see what they would say for the last 5 years (2010-2014), very strange time for rap with some good rappers like Kendrick, Schoolboy Q, Drake (yes, I think Drake is very skilled he just gets hated on because of his background), and Childish Gambino, but lots of really bad popular artists like Rick Ross, Macklemore, and Future.
Switch Macklemore with Drake and I would agree.
leo mendoza He does alot of songs about minorities..
Childish gambino?... Prime example of pseudo-artistry
Add tech n9ne to good rappers and i would agree with this, besides the current drake. Old drake before he got signed and the year or so after was fine. But now he raps about everything he denied being.
leo mendoza Macklemore has an older album from 2005 called "The Language of My World"; listen to some of the songs, especially "White Privilege"

You're right, Nelly got the shaft. I don't even know some of the songs in the HM but Nelly was huge in the mid-2000s

Seeing Drake NOT on the list made me happy though.
Drake didn't come out until like 2008 so I doubt he was even a contender lol but when it hits the 2020's he'll definitely be on the hip-hop of 2010's list lol
***** He is hip hop. Just a different subgenre.
Why does that make you happy...?
***** 'Cause I hate his music, and being in high school, my peers play his songs constantly through the halls and defend him way too much.
Burning Inferno Productions My point is... Why would you have cared if they chose to put him on this list? You don't have to listen to his music. He really is not that bad. I personally don't think he's amazing, but he's definitely talented. His last album was mediocre though.

Quisquellano26 Yeah, it's because of the skin color.
Hit singles billboards- Fireman, Go DJ, a milli, etc
Dope platinum albums- the Carter's 12&3
Countless collaborations- I need a soldier many many more
And not eminem? He was dominating the early 2000's completely
Why are you bringing up eminem? I'm making a point to all the youngins that think it's cool to hate on Wayne.
Eminem was the king in the early 2000's and still is and always will be
i dont think people are hating him because its cool thats just bullshit they are hating on him because his lyrics are trash (in his most popular songs thats for sure)
back before he fell off. i used too jam to weezy
I like that eminem is at top.
Marcus Fleetwood The Best Rapper Alive, Better than Tupac and every one called Tupac a god
Marcus Fleetwood who is the best in your opinion then?
Don't be ridiculous. Eminem is middle. Nas would be the best. Ice Cube in his NWA days was unstoppable. And then I would go with some more classic rappers before modern ones.
are we talking lyrical ability? because if you think pac or ice cube are even close to as lyrical as Eminem, you're crazy. and there are people who match or are better than Eminem lyrically.
😂😂😭😭😭😭
