"Dance Moms" follows Abby Lee Miller and the nation's favorite tween dancers as they take on Hollywood while new auditions, new competitions, and new studios raise the stakes.
The road has not been easy for “Dance Mom’s” star Abby Lee Miller. After completing her prison sentence last year, the famed dance instructor was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. But if anything, Abby has proven she is a fighter and is not ready to hang up the dance shoes. The new season of Dance Moms follows Abby as she rebuilds her dance company while battling the after-effects of cancer that has left her confined to a wheelchair. Abby is ready to get back to her life and do what she loves most…teaching students to dance! With the goal of putting her life, health and dance studio back together, Abby returns to where it all began - the Abby Lee Dance Company in Pittsburgh.

the fact that maddie was that upset about forgetting a dance to the point where she was almost having a panic attack and thought a grown woman was going to hate her kinda speaks for itself. no child should be that afraid of an adult.
she had way too much pressure and NO child had freaked out that bad. i honestly don’t blame them that they didn’t yell at maddie or correct her because she was so hysterical. so hard to see.

The fact that Maddie wasn't worried about the humiliation nor was she embarrassed she forgot her solo but was more worried about the fact that Abby will hate her, omg. Abby has instilled fear and anxiety in these kids

Teaching the sport is not the only part of the job. Conditioning and strict training with discipline is what gets the best from the athlete. Abby isn't just a dance teacher, she's a coach and mentor. She is blunt, but perfect for the job of molding kids and bringing out the best in them. She pushed them to succeed.
maddie’s reaction to forgetting her solo is probably one of the most disturbing things to ever happen on this show. the fact that her mind immediately went to abby blowing up on her and hating her shows how ruthless she was to those kids. and holly and kelly were on the point with what they were saying.
Right and the thing is Maddie was the favorite so she obviously had a lot of pressure on her to stay on Abby’s good side so when she messed up ONCE she was so afraid that her “good side with Abby “ is going to crumble down

Maddie’s reaction is genuinely heartbreaking. How no one appreciated the insane level of pressure that Maddie faced and her crippling perfectionism absolutely baffles me. This situation is all too relatable for other people such as myself who are perfectionists and I just feel so bad that Maddie had to go through that at 9 years old.

My heart melted seeing Chloe’s reaction to Abby hugging Maddie. It doesn’t surprise me seeing her be upset. Abby needs to learn to stop giving special treatment to Maddie and even things out to make all the girls feel appreciated whether their dance has been forgotten or not.
It’s really sad the way the producers manipulated the situation. Abby was crying because she found out her mother was in the hospital. It’s just sick how the producers saw Abby cry and took that as an opportunity to create more drama.

My 11 year old self really idolized these girls and thought this show was the best show in the world. Watching this at 19, I can’t help but notice how toxic the atmosphere was for these young girls. It’s a shame that they had to grow up in these conditions in front of so many cameras. Plz let the children just be children.

How that poor child isn’t a mental wreck now she’s a teen is a testament to her strength. As a previous child prodigy (in classical music) the pressure of being ‘the best’ is so intense. I broke. Good for Maddie for somehow staying sane.
Watching Maddie cry made me cry. Her anxiety... her phobia- yes, phobia- of disappointing people. It's heartbreaking.
Being that scared of authority figures getting mad at you for putting yourself first is literally a trauma response. I know because I've been there, and watching her break down like that is so devastating. That's how people pleasing tendencies, as well as a willingness to put your own needs aside to satisfy those of the people around you develop
I just hope she's happier now that she's off the show (same for all the other girls)

Bless Chloe's heart, she attempts to comfort Maddie when she forgets it - but she sees Abby be nice to Maddie once she forgets her solo, unlike with Chloe - that must've been so hard to put a brave face on.
It was so sad to see how the other girls reacted when Abby comforted Maddie in front of them. I never realized how toxic that was for them to constantly be yelled at and told they aren't good enough while their friend was favored and put on a pedestal. The saddest part is that the kids are more mature than most of the adults because they understand it isn't Maddie's fault she's the favorite and they genuinely care about her and everyone else.

Dear Vlogger I think they were just trying to say that Abby put in a CD that was meant to skip to make Maddie look better because if you look at the judges faces they are so stunned and amazed at how beautifully Maddie keeps on dancing even though the music stops. The editors just took out what they really meant to say instead of just “she was told to keep on dancing“ I understand because every dancer is told to keep dancing no matter what, like why wouldn’t they keep dancing?

That's literally the biggest lesson I learned through my 17 years of dance. You NEVER stop. Doesn't matter if anything with the music is off. So I felt weird hearing the moms saying it was cheating
The whole point was that it was rigged. That’s why they called it cheating
This is the same thing with gymnastics. One girls music cut out of a meet and she had to keep doing her routine. Mine skipped in the middle and I just kept going.

whether maddies music was purposely or not the way she kept dancing and her timing was PERFECT even though there were no clear beats of the song it’s still fantastic and honestly it’s really impressive

Kenzie is an empath, she takes on what other people are feeling. So when one of her friends are hurt or upset, she feels it strongly on their behalf. You can see it when Nia ran off stage for forgetting her solo, for Maddie in this clip, When Jill yelled at Brynn, and when Kendall yelled at Ashlee. I'm sure there are a lot of other examples

And you could see she looked like she was crying before hand because her eyes were red and Abby was there when she performed her solo both times so she wouldnt leave because Maddie forgot her solo if she did it twice

Maddie always had a lot of pressure on her and cared a lot for the opinion of others. She almost had a panic attack for simply forgetting a solo, she is just a child. You cannot compare two children of different ages with different emotional backgrounds.
Maddie was 9 when she forgot. Jojo Siwa was a lot older when she forgot her solo, and more trained.
