So find out if I can get this abandoned Hyundai i10 back on the road in 7 days!!!

      Exactly what I thought! It probably will need brand new tyres after it has been sitting flat for years. Replacement oils and fluids would probably not go amiss, and probably new brakes too - he said it himself that it was sticky? The interior probably also need some cleaning and vacuuming which I hope he did but just didn't make it in the video. However given that he wasn't formally commissioned to restore the car I guess it is understandable.

    My family used to own Atos which used same engine, went to 370.000km before gasket started leaking oil. And it was only problem. And brake booster started to fail on 240.000km. apart from that, just oil, tires, whipper blades and brakes.

    • @kaloloL8
      @kaloloL8 Год назад +1

      It is air sealed and so cannot corrode. It’s like oil in a carton , it will last years and years and still usable. Basic primary knowledge.

    • @linkinparkadik
      @linkinparkadik Год назад +2

      @@kaloloL8huh. Then why is it needed to change the oil every xx km OR 6 months WHICH EVER COMES first? oils degrade through time and they tend to sludge if not changed or used. Your analogy is not applicable since those new oils are not used. The oil in this car was already used meaning it was already exposed to heat and other internal mechanical parts of the vehicle.

    • @kaloloL8
      @kaloloL8 Год назад +1

      @linkinparkadik I don't know if you have ever watched old world War two vehicle restorations. The oil in alot of these cars have remained in tact and enough to run some of these engines sitting for almost 100 years. This is because of air compression. It's all basic shit man. Oil corrods from exposure to H20. There could be some corrosion but over a small period of afew years it would be barely noticeable. I've seen 100 year old trucks run on a farm first pop after 40 years of sitting in old oil, although old and thickened, is enough to lubricate pistons and rods to turn on. Again, basic science.

    • @shaheeralikhan9561
      @shaheeralikhan9561 Год назад +2

      @@kaloloL8 it looks good but it ain't good, must change every 6 month to 1 year. Read the labels on the oil. End of discussion

    • @linkinparkadik
      @linkinparkadik Год назад +1

      @@kaloloL8for someone telling about "basic science", I am surprised you haven't thought about how tight the tolerances inside engines for lubrication to go through are. Thickend oil due to degredation can kill a good engine regardless if it looks okay or not. Also, the lubricating properties of the oil also fades through time so say goodbye to your bearings and any other metal contact points inside the engine if you really stand by your beliefs.
      You may have seen those old engines start up and run but it doesn't change the fact that old, stagnated lubricants need to be replaced before any prolonged driving is done to avoid or cause any further damage to the engine.

    I remember tht I once had interest on ths car when I was ody finished study and planning to get a first car, ths the time when Hyundai was known fr its 'Fluidic Design' alongside with the infamous Elantra, daring but nt really a sustainable design. But im sure ppl will tend to love it as it gets older, just like 80s or 90s song 😅

      @@Josh.Sanderson Something i've been learning to ask my self is "How does this thumbnail create intrigue", and never just tell them what happens in the title (unless it's something crazy).
      Something that might work for the thumbnail for this one is have the screen split with a before and after photo.
      Title could be something like "I highjacked my neighbor's car!" (you mention something like this early in the video).
      I'm not in the car space, so do some more research.
      I've been doing a video search of my title before I make my videos, and search by highest views to get an idea of what thumbnails are working for top creators.
      Good luck!

      @@andrewvoigtdesign5536 yeah I agree, however sometimes I struggle with creating intrigue vs letting viewers wonder about the intrigue of the process instead of the end result

    So, basically, he just washed his neighbor's car (very thorough though, well done here). But he didn't change the oil and oil filter. It should have been done BEFORE starting the engine. And personally, I would use a cheaper oil first to run it for couple hundred miles, and then would change the oil and filter again. Also air and cabin filters need to be changed. All liquids to be changed as well (coolant and brake fluid).
