Wahoo! You asked for it! Here it is! I sincerely hope you guys enjoyed today's video on these amazing animals! I wanted to also add that unfortunately I can't really help you find them. They aren't very common and it's sad to see the trade is still predominantly flooded with wild collected croc skinks. I have some exciting plans under wraps to combat this in 2021 but more on that later. For now, a plea to those of my viewers looking to own these incredible lizards- please choose and support captive bred! Thank you! Don't forget to answer today's question of the day and see you all on Friday!
I have them for sale! Maybe you have interest?

Where could I get one of these fellas
Good video and your animals look great!
I have 3 quince monitors, one of them has a awesome personality and interacts with me a lot! If you like you can check my Instagram @quincemonitors

hey i have a pet green anole he loves mealworms and moths he's a picky eater he only eats white mealworms why is that?
i’m korean and i’m not goot at English so i can’t understand all of this video but i know that this video is very helpful to the breeders
Your English is great! Thank you for watching and thank you for your kind comment!
@@Reptiliatus i agree
thank you for encouraging people to pick this animal up as a pet. almost every You Tuber is saying that they are the worst pets to have and are just not worth it because of how reclusive they are. totally makes people not want these amazing animals. you on the other hand are showing just how incredible they can be with a little effort and patience
Yeah I agree- just because an animal doesn't love being held all the time does not make it a bad pet whatsoever! While you should not handle red eyed croc skinks all the time does not mean they can never be tamed. If it were me, I would tame it and handle every now and then (with food probably as motivation) to keep tame enough to where I can hold it for certain occasions. Of course it takes patience and not every individual is the same, but I would respect the creature and it's space and limits and patiently try to work with it.
You were being spied on for a fair chunk of that video.
Haha they are always watching 😉!
I love when animals can learn to trust their humans! Even if it takes patience...
As do I! Thank you for watching!
My tokay gecko has learned to trust me. And now I can vary slowly pet her
Awesome!
Same with my leopard Gecko.
@@410d8 hell ya man
I wish somewhere in the UK sold these beauties, I've wanted one for years as a reptile owner.
I own one!!!
You can find them in London, in crystal palace reptiles.
I just got mine yesterday so i can’t handle it yet! 😍😍😍 I got a crestie from 3 months old with a UV-B lamp!
I've tamed one of my snapping turtles. Her name is Raptor. I know, its a very friendly name. She is 8 inches shell length and never shows aggression. She is kinda food aggresive when she sees the feeding tongs but, when there isn't food involved she is tame. It took me 2 years and now I can finally rub her chin and top of her head and sometimes she likes to follow me around.
I have 4 snappers from 30 years old and doesn’t like to be pet
@@naeff002 Now i just feel bad. That really unlucky, I'm sure you don't deserve that. You still have a chance though, try taking one out before feeding and let it walk around you and then feed it once its back in its enclosure.
Do you have a video? I'd love to see that!! Love the snappers!
Yeah you must show Raptor on your channel!
This is so wholesome! Well done and thank you for sharing!
That’s the perfection for the Red Eyed Crocodile Skink. If you can afford the Biome Upgrade.
I love question of the day- technically not a reptile, but I was fortunate enough to tame my pet store bought, skittish and angry parakeet. He went from hating me in the room to allowing me to gently handle him! It took me about a year tho...
I’m happy you like questions of the day! Thanks for sharing your story! Patience paid off! 🦜
Honestly it's not just the food it's the dedication and time for you to help build that bond cause you can feed an animal all you want but time and dedication is where it's really at where you can really shine threw with your animals I've taken in so many "unhandlable " animals and I don't believe I take them but I do believe I become accepted by them taming is kinda a word I don't like using when it comes down to it because we can never truly tame nature that's why when I became an Exotics enthusiast. I never truly had friends nor family growing up but the one thing I'll never take back growing up is the fact my love for animals has only grown and for some reason animals love me to maybe it's because I respect them or maybe there's some special gift that I have that makes animals like me but I can safely say I've handled tons of animals that are bite now ask questions never that never once bit me...(besides my frogs who think I'm food) other than that never been tagged by a juvie Nile monitor or wild caught tokays the seem to just press themselves up to my hands as much as they can most of the time or try to climb all over me
Yes! I have a female Cuban Knight Anole who lives in the skyscraper terrarium, so I trained her to be 100% hand fed and leash trained. She goes on morning walks with my dog to get some natural direct sunlight time. She started out very wiley and would bite when I came into her territory. It took me about a month to get her to calm down and trust me picking her up. A year before I could get her to walk out onto my hand and offer a foot into her harness willingly. I love her! Love what you do and the training you do with your reptiles! As a vet tech, knowing your pets eating habits is really important to me. Keep up the videos showing people they are more than earlier generations believed!
I might get one! I’ve done a lot of research and my sisters croc skink is so cute
Nice!
I love your method of positive Reinforcement I have been using it with my alligator lizards which are basically North American crocodile skinks they are very shy and very secretive but they crawl out on my arm to eat. this method works thanks Dayyan.
Can you do a set up step by step video for the new enclosure. I would love to see how you make the water portion
Thank you, definitely trying this with my baby crocodile skink
Hi Dayyan! I just needed this video♥️. My Gal, 3yo red eyed girl, escaped over the Christmas holiday while I was away (most likely with my cats help). I was worried sick to the literal meaning of it when my husband called me. As the holiday goes, I always stay with my family for few days and my dear behalf comes home early to take care of our animals. He was searching for 3 days without break and she finally let him spot her today! She simply appeared in the middle of the room. All stressed out, bit dehydrated and hungry but without scratch🙏. We were just getting to the point when she didnt mind me being behind the glass. ♥️. Anyway thank you for introducing this fantastic creatures to me and posting how you work with them! 👍♥️
Such a relief! So glad you found her before it was too late! 🙏🏼
I'm just now watching this (new subscriber) but one of your skinks came into frame starting at 1:00 🥺 they love you
I have a close bond with my baby african rock python. They are normally a defensive species but I tamed her and she's so friendly. I want a red eyed crocodile skink as my next pet. Good video.
That’s wonderful to hear! Thanks for watching!
Yes. I have my leopard gecko trained well enough that he'll go on to my hand and up my arm to eat
Great!
I absolutely love this channel ❤️ For the question of the day; Yes, I was able to get quite a few of my reptiles comfortable with being handled. But I do have one Crestie that is taking a little longer to get comfortable around me. I have learned patience with him. I feel that if I force him he will never let me touch him again.
Thank you! That’s great! Best of luck with your crested gecko’
Happy new year to you and your wonderful pets 🥳🦎
Thank you! You too! 🎉
My Western Beardy, Sam, wasn't at all bothered by being handled. Even loved to sit on my shoulder.
I was always gentle with her, and would often take her to bathe in natural sunlight.
Wasn't all my doing, though; she was already good with being handled when I got her.
Great!
Bearded dragons are like that. It’s one of the reasons they are so awesome
He's from how to train your dragon
Yep
On my opinion, its more likely from Pokemon than httyd.
@@Logan_The_GiganotoZilla well, we have to belive you, since you're a literal skink
@@dreeew141 thanks 😁
This couldn't have come at a better time, I just got a pair for REC skinks earlier this month and was curious how you got yours to be so calm around you. Appreciate it! I had always wanted to get a pair but seeing your pair really inspired me to go for it, after doing plenty of research
Wonderful! Happy to help’
so i one time got some water on my hand when i tried to give her food, and she lick my hand, it was so cute until my hands was irritated it got red spots and so itchy on the places she licks (is it normal or not?), but idc tho and still "accidentaly" have watery hand sometimes when i feed her because it's cute when she lick my hand hha
ps. she's the tamest of 6 of my croc skinks, i don't know how i do it but she's so tame that she always come out everytime i'm close, will climb out to my hand easily, and like to hide inside my hair or pockets :" i named her dio from dionysus and she's the cutest
Great video! I plan to get a crocodile skink some Day, i have a Leo right know, he is about 4months old and eat from my hand, when he dont miss and try to eat my hand 😁
Hi Im Cindy from Korea and i adapted a pair of red eyed skink 2days ago. And i searched many things about them in Korea but I found that they are the nocturnal and really easy to die skink. - lack of info
Im worried about my female skink because she look so small and weak. She is a bit bigger than your baby skink. She still has a light color head.
My male one took a shower and sometimes goes around. He is bigger than her and starts to show red lines around his eyes - actually really tiny spot. I just put mealworm in wormdish. But she is still in her hiding place and didn’t eat at all. Are they okay?
Sorry for asking and please let me know how can I take care them.
Damn man, you make everything seem easy😂🤣
expectation : key to earning heart and trust of your reptile is love and kindness
reptiliatus : key to earning heart of your skink is FOOD!
Well reality sucks I guess lul.
Thanks for watching!
Crocodile Skink in Indonesia called "kadal duri"
Just so you know, Kevin McCurley from New England reptile distributors also known as a nerd, is a black belt amazing person that social I's has his lizards, mostly monitors, to being like big scaly puppy dogs. I swear it's uncanny the way this man takes a gorgeous monitor baby and raises them so they have no fear they are not head shy they crave attention. I am 100% positive he can help you. Or you could just watch his channel.
Congratulations for the success of making a very shy animal comfortable with you! I never bought a red eye crocodile skink, because I saw that they are hiding so much. At which age it is the best? Are they more shy the first weeks?
I hope one day I can have a cocodrile skink, they're fantastic.
Question: Is it true that they don't live much?
Thanks, lav your videos man ❤️
Thanks for watching! I’m not sure where you heard they don’t live long. I’ve owned mine 4 years and I bought them as wc adults back then. They are still reproducing consistently so I would say they probably live a pretty long time!
Congratulations on the babies. 👍👍👍
Thanks!
hello great video
Thank you’
Yeah, it's called Stockholm Syndrome, it's symbolic in any species. Lol but yes, it's very much accurate
I can’t wait to pick me up a pair of crocodile skinks
@Ruthless i have them for sale if u want one dm me on Instagram: @mikevdsloot
So like. Shade. Sandy Desert Climate Environment. And a cold water source.
I love the Red-Eyed Crocodile Skinks, Its like taming the Mega Charizard X! 😁
Haha thanks so much!
In order to get my piebald ball python to feel comfortable with me and my girlfriend I let him slither through our dirty laundry before we wash it so that she could get a feel for his surroundings well also getting used to our sent, now he gets excited, Every time he smells us entering his enclosure (even more so for my girlfriend😂).
So funny seeing their heads poking behind cover when theres food around 😂
Thx buds! They’re just stunning! Can’t believe we got to see a new baby again!!
Thank you! Yes, I’m thrilled!
Totally love the one behind you like yes...yes.. that's me
Keep talking.
So I have a question. So I got a crested gecko 6 days ago and she won’t eat anything I don’t know what’s wrong with her. The only thing she is eating are crickets but thats it. What should I do?
Put a dab of Pangea on her nose with a stick or something of that sort and wait till she licks it off then keep repeating that and/or put the food in front of her tongue and they usually start licking it up
Ok thanks I never thought of that
@@justuschristopher1798 yeah man you’d be surprised there’s a lot of informational yt videos on cresties care
Hi guys, hi Reptiliatus.
Does anybody knows why croc is making short barking sounds just before or when he is changing possition when no-one around?
Is that a callling sound or I should be maybe worried because it feels unsafe?
Thanks for all replays and help!
Crocodile skinks can life from 10 to 15 years, in a good habitat sometimes more.
But its true, some informations about that animal arent easy to find, like the time when they are ready to produce babies😅
Every source tell u something different.
Yes my baby blue toung lizard would run every time i went in the i fed it alot the it trusted
I’m getting a bts in a few weeks cannot wait. Was your Indonesian or northern ?
@@finnsreptiles9326 Mine is a eastern sorry for the unexpected answer
Before I moved here permanently to Florida, I came for a visit and caught some Anoles. I am a great lizard catcher. Anyway, back then I lived in my hometown of Charles City, Virginia. Well, I took them home and kept them until they all passed naturally. And NO they were just as wild and crazy as the day I caught them. But I so ❤ ed them anyway!!!
Neat!
Nice ! Anoles are so fun wish we could get them in the uk !
What is your opinion on Indonesian Blue Tongue skinks
I’m 13 and have kept reptiles for seven years. This will not be my first. I aspire to be a zoologist in the future. And blue tongues are one of my favourite reptiles. I know they can be wild caught so I would find a reputable breeder. I am also fine with humidity and temperatures.
I have a hamster who doesn't bite me at all and he tlreally nice he called teddy
Congrats on the baby! 3 babies! So cool
Thank you ☺️🙏🏼
@@Reptiliatus yes
Thank you I am gonna get one hopefully in a few years (prob 1-2) but I would like to train it when I get it :)
Yes I have a leopard gecko that I have condition to like me better and she’s comfortable next to me and she’s not Head shy and I can basically touch a training
My animals hate food, wth I been trying for months, and nadda... I think they are spoiled
Do you think you could make a tong feeding leachianus veidio
I have Hypsilurus spinipes that will scratch the glass when I walk in the room and when I open the enclosure they will come out and jump on me just for the interaction even when I don't have a food.
I caught two southern alligator lizards when they were babies, and now I tame them up and I could take them to the store with me, and like touch them pretty much anywhere, and they have like no fear that the children’s thing ever and they’re known for having a horrible reputation
Hello,
I just recently purchased a red eye croc and I don’t think he’s eating. I have coconut fiber substrate and pothos with a water dish. Do they need running water? How do you have your tank setup on the bottom? Are you filtering the water?
About how long did it take for your female croc skink to eat/climb on your hand?
Unfortunately I'm starting back up with my at home animal business and I'd love to some day get to where you're at
When I take out Lizardo my leopard gecko he always goes to my neck and lays there.
The way he peeks is fucking adorable.
I have a bearded dragon that wants to be with me 24/7 I got him as a baby his owners abandoned him and it’s like he knows that I was there to help.
6:50 i laughed do hard when the croc skink decided to pop up, and started staring at you. And at 7:20 you say they are watching at you, and you see the skink stare like o.O
Are a cbb croc skinks good for beginners?(I forgot this question)
I have a 12 year old corn snake that will not eat if anybody else feeds it. I brought her home in a worm container now she is almost 7 feet.
Tamed all of my pets beside my red eye crocodile. I don’t want scare but it hide all the time.
I going to get a red eye soon thanks for the helpful video
Do they need a top to close the enclosure or they really cannot climb and a top isnt too much important?
Its taken 6 months training but we finally have a iggy that my 7 year old can handle . He's also toilet trained yes this is a thing .
I have a question are cbb reptiles good with handling? or even cb ones
It’ll eventually make its own mud.
turns out I have a lot in common with red eye crocodile skinks
These are better off in Desert Climates however perfect for people who live in the forest.
They are so freaking cute.
Aren’t they?!
These are on the list of my all time must haves but I won't be getting one until there is more of a captive bred population on the market so that I don't accidentally buy one that is wild caught
That’s a great idea :).
I don't know this specie of skinks
But its cute

These keep the forest at bay.
It needs a lot of shade though.
QOTD: not a reptile, but I have a clownfish that recognizes me and I’ve trained her to do a few cool things. When o first got her she would bite me so hard I sometimes bled into the tank whenever I put my hands in, but now she sometimes lets me pet her! She is a jerk to other fish though.
Yeah they can recognise faces (pretty smart huh). Even tho they are small they can be aggressive to others
how long is ur terra ?
Oslo my pet berdid dragon is my best frend
i have a crocodile skink
My Chameleon and I have an odd relationship. She was a rescue so before gaining her trust I had to handle her and give her meds and she has yet to forgive me even though its been months. I love her and hopefully she will love me back lol
Some chameleons are just assholes
I easily tamed my chameleon But our red eyes are shy as hell.
It took us over a year that they slept in „open“ places without hiding 24/7. When I open the enclosure for feeding or watering the plants they run into the next hiding space as fast as possible. But that’s okay. They are shy animals ;)
Greetings from Germany!
Yes sometimes that’s just how it is but I think patience and consistency can pay off eventually! Greetings from Canada!
