If I only had one pair of crocodile skinks I’d probably do a huge Paludarium but that’s not the case so I think it’s important to mix ease of care + efficiency while trying to still have beautiful, naturalistic vivrais that helps the animals feel secure and at home!

WOW congratulations!!! These are stunning! I live in Ontario Canada. I'm pretty sure you too are Canadian, eh? Would you ever sell a crocodile skink?
As for your question of the day, I would need 2 racks to answer the question fully. The 1st rack would be to rehouse the 6 bearded dragons that I already own. You see, I'm a disabled person and enclosures like that would make my life so much easier! The second rack, I would buy a crocodile skink from you, a gargoyle gecko ive been eyeing at my local reptile store, as well as adopt and foster more bearded dragons from my local reptile rescue! I have a knack with special needs beardies and have helped them out in the past. They are also getting pretty crowded, so, I would love to help them out.
Does the company that you talked about make enclosures big enough for adult beardies? I do warn you, one of my beardies is part German Giant and is 18 inches from snout to tail!
    Thanks and praise!

Great choice! Yes! I live close to a massive forest with TONS of dead wood/drift wood everywhere. How did you come up with the name Reptiliatus?

What kind of misting system do you use. I've got a half-moon bioactive paludarium tank setup currently & I'm looking to add an auto misting system for maintaining my humidity while I'm away. I normally use a spray bottle.

      @Reptiliatus  Год назад

As mentioned in the video, I use a mistking. Leap sells their own misting system (you can learn more about it on their RUclips channel @leap but it’s not quite powerful enough to power a whole rack. I imagine they’ll eventually offer a model that can!

I've been raising up a few pairs of garters, four pairs . I think those would be so nice for a pair . 2x2 is about perfect and the height is nice they like to climb and purch up on branches or cork. I've had them in a big community tank but it's about time to get them in separate enclosure for breeding . It is nice to have a clean looking setup so it looks nice in the room . I enjoy watching your videos because of the good information and the excellent care you take of all your animals. Love the green tree monitors so amazing! Those skinks seem to have adaptations for a slow life history with a low reproductive rate. Birds have one ovary too, yet they can lay one egg every day in some species. Crocodile skins are just cryptic and escape predators by that, so they don’t need fast reproduction as much.

Thanks for the heads up! I actually have 5.0 uvb fixtures that’ll help illuminate the back portions of the walls soon. I’m just doing one row for now to make sure the temperatures stay safe and don’t get too hot for now since led + t5 can generate decent heat and crocodile skinks don’t like too much of that! Yea, that’s why I added some small palms to the taller two habitats. Hoping they’ll grow in more and fill the height a bit over time! For now, the babies won’t be available, sorry. Hi, what an amazing video, only one question, tribolonotus gracilis and tribolonotus novaeguineae can reproduce them? For example, a male tribolonotus gracilis and a female tribolonotus novaeguineae, could have a baby? And if it is possible, what specie would be the baby?

Waow... amazing 😍 I have a 2/3 years old female in a 120x80x60 terrarium since almost 1 year (I believe it's a female because she doesn't have anything on her back feet). I'd love to find a male for her and get some babys later on 😍

Nice video! 🥰 Can you help me? I've got a male 1,5 years old crocodile skink who isn't eating about 2,5 weeks. The temperature in the enclosure is 22 Celsius and the humidity is 78%. I allways try feed them every day, but he not eat. But he don't looks ill, he is swimming and climbing. What can I do? He is with me since April, and he was a good eater. Thank you! 🙂

I just bought a Captive bred white eye croc skink today and love all these videos! I have a female juvenile in a 40 breeder with a cork round waterfall and water feature with tons of plants. Couple of greys tree frogs cohabing atm not sure if it’s a good idea or not, the reptile store said it would be fine (the frogs will not bother the skunk but not sure about vice versa) The skink loves hanging out inside the cork round water fall. Hoping to find a male for her at some point (more for company, I don’t care to breed them although it would be cool). Anyways any tips would be great I don’t know much about them. Water feature has bunch of pathos but no filter, just a pump and water heater (77 degrees Fahrenheit). Also a small grow light for the plants and mist 1-2 times daily by hand. Spring tails, powder blues and oranges, earth worms and meal worm/super worms for CUC.

You’re a huge inspiration for me planning on getting one! I’m trying to set up a paludarium for one, what would you recommend as the max depth? Also do you think they benefit as a pair or by themselves for someone not getting them specifically to breed? Thanks In advance!

These animals are absolutely gorgeous and I really wish I could have one myself now 😂😂 do these guys need any lights like uvb and heat lamps? Only as I've not seen them on their original tubs. If I had those enclosures you've got I don't know what I'd put in them, but I'm sure they'd be cool 😂😂

Never been into lizars and skinks of any kind. But then i came across a picture of a the Red eyed crocodile skink, oh i NEED one. Watched your videos to see if they where for me. Next reptil fair i found One little rascal. Not many breeders here in sweden.
Found another at the next fair 3 months later.
So i thank you for the good information and help in how to care for my 2 dragons.
    Keep up the good work

Why r u worried that the croc skinks parents won't take care of the egg once you move all of them into a new enclosure...? will they eat it?? or what is it about moving into a new enclosure that jeopardizes the current "flow" of their lifestyle; hence, neglecting the egg (their baby) like it isn't theirs..?? plz explain broski, thx!

Question, I know you have not much plantvariation in your tanks, but.... I notice in my paludarium some plants get eaten (and they are red-eye-only, the damage done to the leaves is too large for the crickets). Of course I also have pothos, they do not eat that. Softer leaves will disappear (I forget the name, but it's sold a nibbling-plant for rabbits and hamsters overhere.)
Do other people you know share this experience? Are they omnivorous?
(they are up to their earcanals in crickets most of the week and I have seen them eating those, so it's not hunger...)

QoD: If one was given to me I would probably go with smaller day geckos, phelsuma klemmeri and around that size. But Im afraid I dont trust these enclosures long term, extruded plastic sides and how it all goes together just doesnt scream "I will last 10+ years" to me. The use of so much plastic in the construction doesnt feel very long term sustainable neither.

These crocodile skinks fascinate me. If I could have a Leaf set up like that I would like to choose a reptile that is currently mostly wild caught and establish a captive bred source. I am brand new and don't even have a first reptile. So I am not sure where to start so I just keep researching.

Ngl Ive been wanting crocodile skinks but have shied away from keeping them cause of the water feature and not wanting to have loud water filters running all the time. Since I like keeping my animals in my office to give me that little kick of serotonin whenever I get too stressed working. It also helped me with taming them down a lot since I spend so much time there and they're always around me 😄
For the QOTD I'd probably have tokay geckos or hognoses in the leap enclosures as those are two of my favorite types of reptiles that I own!
