    i was about to type a joke saying “is living in florida enough humidity😹😹” then i heard him say “ideally humidity is 70 to 80%” and i remembered that the humidity is about like 90% every time i check (but not that often) so i asked siri and the humidity rn is 100% 😂 can they have too much humidity lol

      @cloudyday8279 3 года назад +6

      Yes, too high of a humidity will cause scale rot for sure! So, you would want a dehumidifier 😂

    Always more moisture and wet , also give them barks so they can dry off if needed .. they are fragile and dont handle them unless you have top move them around ..

    Its just sad that such small enclosures are still recommended and used for this amazing little dragons. .. If you give them a big enough terrarium with a water part for swiming (1/3 of the space, 20cm dept is no problem and you can keep small fishes and shrimps in there wich they often hunt and eat, they stay under water for upto 40mins so they really love that..), a creek running down the backwall, a place where they can dig(they even built tunnels if you give them a deep enough space!) and many plants as hides- so basically just give them space and the possibilitys to do something instead of putting them in a carriersized thing with nothing to do beside hiding then they WILL show their normal and natural behavior, you will see them roam around, chill in the open areas or just in the watter most of the time basically and they live quite a long live also.
    Whats said in the video is enough to let them survive but they wont thrive in there.

    I had a Chinese water dragon for a few years. The poor guy passed away because the biggest enclosure I could get my hands on was still too small for him. Exo-Terra's was about half of what he should've been in, as he was two feet long, from snout to the end of his tail! Anyway, I've still got the mid-size front-opening Exo-Terra tank and have been looking for a suitable replacement and came across a picture of a Red-Eyed Crocodile Skink, and... WOW! It kinda seems like the care and handling is pretty similar between these two animals. They even have similar diets. Have you or anyone you know owned a Chinese water dragon? Can you confirm this for me?

    i have an question, is the lamp should be on in day or night?

    • @rockinsong1358
      @rockinsong1358 4 года назад +3

      Never keep any lamp on that emits light at night. Even red lights and blue “night time” bulbs (that claim to be okay to have on at night) emit light that will affect your reptiles day and night cycle. If you need heat at night for any reptile, use a ceramic heat emitter or a heat mat with a thermostat. These emit heat without emitting light. UVB only needs to be on for about 12 hours a day so that definitely doesn’t need to be on at night. Think of UVB as the sun which it is basically an artificial sun. It’s not up every hour of the day.

      @@HandsomeBastardsometimes reptiles like lizards or geckos (crested geckos, gargoyle geckos, etc..) can stop eating if the tank is too big. I recommend researching about it.

    they need a planted tank with many hides and is must be verry wet like a swamp, Out of that a water area form them to swim is is also highly recomended as this will bring out their natural behavior and u get to see them more often.
