I wonder every once in a while how she has been doing since her brother died.
I'm sure that was very tough on their entire family.
When did he pass?!?😮
@beasaroseco5840 It was five years ago. So young, 55. They never said what the cod was, but apparently, he had some sort of illness. He will always be little Tommy to me.😢
Nancy was in an early episode of Alice. She's in the Thanksgiving episode where Mel has a plastic turkey. She's one of the orphan kids that comes to the restaurant.
Thanks for sharing!
@@jdsundstrom That same episode also had a VERY young Corey Feldman in what I believe is one of his first roles.
@@nah....6151 That's right it was the Halloween episode where she played a brat that hated Alice dating her dad.
Nancy McKeon also appeared in an episode of The Love Boat.
Nancy McKeon is a multi talented actress. She can do drama and comedy. The Jo character was my favorite on The Facts Of Life Dave.🙋🗽🍎
Mine too
😆 99% that came out of her mouth was sarcastic.
I've always liked Nancy McKeon. Jo was my favorite character in The Facts of Life.
Considering what happened to actress Rebecca Schaeffer (murdered by a deranged "fan" in 1989 at her own front door), Nancy's very lucky her encounter with that guy didn't end as badly as it could have. Jo became my favorite character on FOL, even though I loved all the girls and Miss Charlotte Rae. I grew up with the show, and still watch it in reruns ❤
Wow that's wild Dave ❤❤❤
Thanks for sharing!
It made me think about that story as well... smh
Nancy McKean actually dated Michael J. Fox. Nancy McKean and Michael J. Fox were in the tv movies High School U.S.A. and Poison Ivy. 🤗♥🙏
Yep. They were an item for quite a few years.
When did Poison Ivy come out where she was in it? Because the Poison Ivy movie I remember had Drew Barrymore and Sara Gilbert in it. I don't remember Nancy in that movie.
@@Erin-ho3wg The Poison Ivy movie I am talking about is a made for tv movie which aired on NBC🦚from (1985) that starred Nancy McKean and Michael J. Fox. Not to be confused with the (1992) movie with Drew Barrymore and Sara Gilbert with Cheryl Ladd. 👱♀🏕📺🎥
I loved her on “The Facts Of Life” I’m glad nothing bad happened with that scary encounter. Thanks Dave, I’m always looking forward to your wonderful postings!👏
Thank you!
Nancy Mckean did a sitcom after TFOL called Style & Substance with Jean Smart from the 80's/90's sitcom Designing Women
that show is about two women who worked in a home decorating business, it is a great show but only lasted 6 weeks.
I remember watching facts of life when I was a kid and thought Nancy McKeon was so Pretty and tough just like me ☺️😎 I remember her doing lifetime real life movie of her playing am Abused Wife and Mother she was Amazing she definitely showed her Acting Chops thank u Dave for this 🥰 i also remember her dating Michael J Fox as well in 1983 0n the set of the TV movie high school USA😊
Like most people, I really enjoyed Nancy on "The Facts of Life" but I was really impressed with her range in her performance as the lead character in "A Cry For Help:The Tracey Thurman Story" (a fact-based 1989 movie about domestic violence and the horrible aftermath that Tracey barely survived). I remembered the story from the news and could relate to much of that story though my experience had been less severe. (I've been in a great marriage for 22 years now, thank goodness ) I missed a lot of her other work but was aware that she kept working in show business for some time.
Thanks for sharing!
That was such a fun show, but it had some serious subjects they dealt with also. Kudos to all of them!
It's sad that she thought no one would believe her, I'm happy to hear she spoke up, it really is hard to do sometimes!
Thanks, Dave!!!
👍👍
She is amazing. I heard most of those things about her, except her crazy 🤪 😳 😜 fan encounter 😳 😮 I saw her not long ago on The Drew Barrymore Show. She looks great 👍
I hope she's okay following her brother's passing 😢 I wish she would come back someday and star 🌟 in some Lifetime or Hallmark movies 🎬 I'd LOVE to see her ❤️ Thanks Dave 😊
Thanks for sharing, Marlene!
That's sounds terrifying. I've never met a celeb & I'm ok with that. I may love a celeb's work, but I'd rather keep the image of their characters in my head rather than meeting them and having the image ruined.
I totally get that. Thanks for sharing!
She was my second crush after Kristy McNichol. I crushed on her all my years of grade school. I watched the facts of life all those years up until I started high school.
Nancy was the reason i watched The Facts of Life. I loved her sarcasm. But her performance in A Cry For Help was amazing and heartbreaking. I've never forgotten that. Hope she's doing well.
Speaking of terrifying events, Dave, this event I'm mentioning was more horrible than with Nancy. Actress Barbara Colby who guest starred on many shows including two on Mary Tyler Moore Show and co-starred on the spinoff Phyllis was gunned down and murdered with a friend in a parking lot in Hollywood. The gunman was never found. Would be a good subject Dave
Scary stuff! Thanks for the suggestion, Jerry.
@@jdsundstrom You may remember Barbara on Mary Tyler Moore as one of the prostitutes in jail with Mary who refused to reveal a news source
of course, we all remember her from Facts of Life, but I also remember watching her in the Tracy Thurman Story! She was so good in this movie, even when I think about it today it still gives me shivers!
Always crushed on her as a kid... and I still think she is a beautiful woman. I wish her all the best!
It was my understanding that the Hallmark Cards commercial she did just prior to Facts of Life was seen by the show's casting and got her selected!
I grew up watching this show and love everyone on it ... The Facts Of Life will live in my heart forever
At the time she was the only reason I watched The Facts of Life 😍
I thought all the girls were great.
I've always had a crush on Nancy.
Yes. Same here.
Yep. Me too. Always loved her. A beauitiful girl.. and turned into a beautiful woman. And seems like a genuinely good person.
Nancy is a very talented actress, and she was great in facts of life.
I loved "one to grow on". I remember it during commercial breaks of Saturday Morning Cartoons. Speaking of which..........CBS STORYBREAK! I wish they had that on dvd / blu ray.
MS NANCY JUSTINE MCKEON THE LEGEND WHAT MORE IS THERE TO SAY EXCEPT HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY 3 WEEKS AGO APRIL 4 1966 APRIL 4 2024 58 YEARS YOUNG AND STILL BEAUTIFUL❤❤❤❤❤ ONE OF MY FAVORITE 1980S CELEBERITIES
NANCY MCKEON IS MY 1ST FAVORITE ACTRESS love her and she always will be
What a great RUclips channel!
Thanks Steven!
We need "One to Grow On" back again!
We need Saturday morning TV to belong to kids again!
@@jdsundstrom YES! and School House Rock!
I remember TV Movie with that Nancy Co- Star with Michael J. Fox.
Thanks God Nancy was not hurt that day.
Her Jo character is what true "cool" is!
I have always loved Nancy in facts of life. I'm disappointed she didn't do a lot more acting when that ended. I guess people just choose their own paths.
She's done quite a bit actually.
I was a fan of hers as a kid 😀 I’m sorry she went through that
If only the media still had things like "One to grow on" today.
Yep. It's too bad Saturday morning TV isn't what it used to be.
Wow! That is terrifying! Most people are normal but there is one in every batch
This is kind of off topic but I noticed for the last few years that whenever they have a reunion is all four ladies never show up. Often its Lisa Welchel, Kim Fields, and Mindy Cohn. Hardly ever Nancy but when Nancy does show, Kim is usually missing as in the recent case of their appearence on Drew Barrymore's talk show.
I guess what I'm getting at, barring scheduling conflicts, I wonder if theres something between Kim Fields and Nancy.
Interesting. 🤔
Interesting observation. I haven't heard of any sort of riff between the two ladies.
Nancy Mckeon is my favorite on the show
Some network should have crafted a show co-starring Nancy and Kristy McNichol.
Agreed!
☃The Facts Of Life had another reunion back in 2019 in the Lifetime movie: You Light Up My Christmas with Kim Fields, Lisa Whelchel and Mindy Cohn. 🎅🎄🎁🦌
I missed that one. I'll have to check it out. 🙂
Lisa Whelchel and Kim Fields also starred in a Hallmark movie together called, For Better or Worse .
@@GeminiladyJackson-xq6hc Yes I remember that! Plus Live In Front Of A Studio audience Facts Of Life on ABC back in 2021 sadly Nancy McKean was absent from the reunion.🤗📺🙏🕵
Nancy also did voiceover work for many cartoon shows as well, throughout the late 70's and into the mid 80's.
I'm surprised celebrities don't have more trouble with weirdos, there are psychos walking around out there all over the place. More of them than ever. Some are evil incarnate. I always wonder how often I cross paths with them and am unaware. In 1998 I had a college class with a guy who brutally decapitated a 13 year old girl, among other things. I talked to him a couple times a month or two before he did it. We didn't say much but he was pretty friendly. His roomate later said he was strange and had a fascination with knives. He's doing life.
Truly scary stuff. Whether we're celebrities or not, I think we all need to be a little bit careful out there!
I like Nancy Mckeon and the Tracy Thurman movie.
Dave that had to be very nerve-wracking for her. What a situation to be in. Was this story in one of those retro magazines? Is there more of her account of this circumstance in a particular article?
It’s an interview that I have included in the updated video. Thanks for all your support!
Great video Dave, really enjoyed it. Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks, will do!
Facts of Life was such a funny show! I still remember quotes from it😂
Good job, Dave!
Thanks you!
Thanks for sharing the news and info Dave very informative
Any time, Cade!
Much appreciated Dave
I've always loved Nancy McKeon. It was so tragic she lost her brother. I liked him on Alice. It's weird they've never given a cause of death. Heartbreaking.
She's so naturally beautiful and loved her on The Facts of Life. What a scary event to happen to anyone!! Thank God she was okay. Thank you Dave for the very interesting upload. I hope you are well. 😊
Thanks for the great comments, Leesa!
She played on a Love Boat episode also. I saw it recently
I'm just happy being me, and was an extra in Footloose filmed at my high school in Payson, Utah and an extra Independence Day as a group of Bikers riding across the Salt Flats. Horrible on our Harleys...lol Cheers Dave from P.G.
I just watched a local news segment about Payson High and their petition to get Kevin Bacon back for this year's prom BEFORE the high school is demolished. Thanks for sharing, Mark!
Loved her In Facts Of Life, and thar dark abuse movie, and I've heard other actors talk about fans who delusionally believe their in a relationship with that actor, terrifying to say the least.
Wow 😮
She is such a good lifetime movie actress ❤
She played this movie she was hearing voices 😮 n she played that part ❤..
#DisneyDiva ❤
Thanks for sharing!
@@jdsundstrom can u please do Kim F next her family they are great actor's.
As a teenager I had such a big crush on her
Many McKeon appeared in a lot of tv-movies.
@@GeminiladyJackson-xq6hc yes
@@BilleyWinn-pv8xc Oh my God, I meant to say Nancy, instead of Many!!!!!
Love her Joe was my favorite character on The Facts of Life I followed her career afterwards I liked many of the tv movies she made afterwards. I think it's great she's managed to keep her private life private seems like Nancy, Kim, Mindy and Lisa all managed to grow to have great careers doing different things all 4 of them didn't have any scandals in their lives and 4 managed to keep their private business out of the public eye. I still watch The Facts of Life such a great show.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It's nice to see these actors doing well in their lives.
Luke Perry was at an autograph session. The girls were screaming so loud, giving that lunatic vibe so bad he cut it short. Bailed the heck out of there.
Hey Dave,
I know your videos take a long time to edit and research, but my only complaint is that they’re rarely long enough!
You're too kind, Becky. I've always tried to say what I need to say in under 10 minutes. But...I do believe RUclips wants me to make my videos longer so you never know what might happen in the future. 🙂
I learned the facts of life, from watching the facts of life
Wow, how scary for her. It's a high price for fame. I was a tomboy when I was younger, so she was my favorite on that show.
Thanks for sharing...and for all your support, Debbie!
Scary.
Scarry story!!!
Not to be a party pooper but I hated that show (and different strokes) in spite of being a huge Charlotte Rae fan (Car 54, the woefully forgotten the Rich LIttle Variety show). I'm glad, however, that Nancy escaped with her life in tact (others haven't been so blessed) and that she's gone on to have a marvelous career. I much preferred her brother's show.
Thanks for sharing your perspective!
She was the cool girl I wanted to be as a kid.
Dave ,in your view was this guy who apparently got close to Nancy Mckeon, worse than that guy knife wielding man at Bondi junction?. Wayne from Sydney, Australia
Well...since six people were fatally stabbed in the Bondi Junction tragedy, I would say that guy was worse.
Nancy and kim r my favorite ❤
She also became Sonny’s mom on the Disney channel show Sonny with a chance before the show got retooled into being the fictional show they worked on on the show following Demi Lovato entering rehab
Thanks for sharing, Kevin!
👍👍
Someone said they worked with celebrities at autograph signings and afterwards they would throw away gifts like fan art and flowers
Truthfully, that doesn't really shock me.
@@jdsundstrom how many times can you hear "I`m your number one fan!"
👍👍👍 📺
I had such a crush on her.
Nice one .. #cory. Be back later to continue watching
Did Nancy McKeon Report this to the police department or a guard later
In the interview that I watched where Nancy shared this story, she did not mention reporting the incident to anyone.
Good 😊
Thanks 😊
@@jdsundstrom 🤗ok
😆 The fan uncovered 👉3:19 Jake Gyllenhaal
OMG...it does kinda look like him!
@@jdsundstrom 😃
@@jdsundstrom 😃👍
No offense to the actress but the character of JO was wretched. I hated her. Sue Ann should have been kept as she already was serving in the role of a foil for Blair.
It sounds like you might have been a fan of the cast of the first season.
@@jdsundstrom 100%. I still remember being a 13-year-old boy seeing this feast of beauties weekly, only to have most of them ripped away. It was one of my most disappointing TV moments. I have posted on different message boards over the years that Season 1 is the TRUE Facts of Life. It was the concept developed and sold to NBC. The Jo years were just a watered-down version. Ironically the series finale returned to its roots...the dorm at Eastland!
Why didn’t you just play the video 🤷♂️
