Mindy Cohn was not an actress before Facts of Life. They found her in a boarding school doing research for the show. She was so bubbly & funny, they decided to create a character for her. That is a well-known fact.
Mindy Cohn did the virginity episode instead...5 years later! Highest rated episode. Lisa Whelchel steered clear of that embarrassing episode all together. It was Nancy McKeon who was just stuck in a sex trope not of her own design.
I liked that show because the girls weren’t rail thin or gorgeous. They were real looking girls. And acted like real girls.
Blair was supposed to be skinny. Unfortunately Lisa Whelchel began having a food addiction that started with her first church group getting together routinely for donuts and prayer, shortly after Season 2 began airing.

The show did try to get them to loose weight and that only backfired.
Nancy is not 37 and also Kim Fields starred in episodes of Good Times.

It's Tootie and Jo without the e. And Tootie was her nickname that everyone called her by - her real name on the show was Dorothy.

Lisa Whelchel had such a raw talent but her direction into Christian pop and her battle with "comfort food" addiction was glossed over and she even turned down "FRIENDS" because of her sense of guilt in doing anything controversial or outside of her religious comfort zone.

This thing tried to turn Lisa Whelchel into an Emmy winning actress! Uh no she didn't even get nominated! For that to have happened the spaced out Christian Texas actress would have actually had to accept the original story arc of Season 2: Blair loses her virginity. But no the entire plotline was dropped and the show grew weird. NO ONE WAS GETTING LAID. Christian values ruined "FACTS OF LIFE."
