i always liked Judy Strangis she was a very talented young actress and also really pretty
There was also Pamela Sue Martin and Janet Louise Johnson who both played Nancy Drew on The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries show. Janet Louise Johnson stepped in to replace Pamela Sue Martin when she had a dispute with the show for wanting to eventually have her own Nancy Drew TV series but the producers of the show would not agree to that so she left then Janet Louise Johnson replaced her but that didn't last long since the fans wanted Pamela Sue Martin back so in the 3rd season of the show it was only The Hardy Boys starring Parker Stevenson and Shaun Cassidy. Then there was Maren Jensen and Laurette Spang from Battlestar Galactica. All 4 then young women were very beautiful at that time and still are today.
I remember Judy Strangis, I thought she looked familiar and then I remembered seeing her on one of my favorite early 80’s tv show, The A-Team playing a character named Judy in the Episode “ In Plane Sight” Wonderful actress. There was some awesome shows that aired in the 70’s fun times for those that remember that era. 😊
I need to go back and re-watch that A-Team episode. Thanks for your support, Angela!
I don't remember watching Electra Woman and Dyna Girl but I do remember watching Room 222 in its original run even though I was very young. I remember looking forward to that show's opening theme. I'll have to look up both for Ms. Strangis in particular.
I'd heard of the Bugaloos, and I'm not sure why I didn't watch it, but I DEFINITELY watched Land of the Lost. Ms. Ellis was very cute (all 3 of them are still great looking). I guess that means Ms. Coleman would have had my vote as a young kid. Thanks, Dave.
Omg I forgot about Goldie Gold & Action Jack!!
I had a big crush on her and Deidre Hall love watching Electra Woman and Dyna Girl.
@@troyc4250 I love that cartoon one of my favorites.
I thought Holly was cute...but no big crush for her...But I was addicted to the show...
All three were favorites of mine. Caroline's 2 songs doing lead vocals for the Bugaloos are The Senses of Our World and Castles in the Air, and they're here on RUclips - at least I hope still. All Bugaloos songs should be here, the versions from the album and some from the show, which were different and sometimes better (as with Believe).
So many great 70s tv stars Dave thanks for keeping the 70s alive with great stars
I was a little kid when Electra Woman and Dyna Girl was on tv
My friend Jenny and I would play the duo. 😊
Thanks for sharing that memory!
I remember her as a Barbie spokesmodel after dynagirl, the hair just gave her away. if she had a stalker in the early 80's remember that was when 'my sister sam' star rebecca schaefer was murdered by a stalker so i can understand her running.
I recognized Deidre Hall from the time I saw the thumbnail about Electra Woman and Dyna Girl. Of course I knew Deidre Hall best as Dr. Marlena Evans on Days of our Lives. I heard of Room 222 and read the Mad magazine satire of it but I've never seen it. Saturday morning TV was always great when I was a child.
Can you discuss the legend Zack Hample?
Nope
Honestly glad negotiations broke down with Kathy and that Land of the Lost “reboot”. That was a terrible film best forgotten.
I was curious, so I saw the movie. Consider yourself lucky.
I loved land of the lost. There was something so special about it. I really dislike when producers and writers try to rewrite beloved characters as if they never existed. I didn't even bother watching the new altered versions. Man those days of eating a bowl of fruit loops and watching Land of the lost were the best! Sat. Mornings were just wonderful as a child.
Thanks for sharing your memories!
Thanks for stopping by for afternoon coffee :-) Spike Jones was truly in a class by himself
No doubt!
Judy Strangis was drop dead gorgeous. 😃👍
Dave sandstorm
I got the whole DVD box set of land of the lost I don't need anything else I
Watch them periodically
That's awesome!
The Monkees theme is a classic!
Totally agree!
Boyce and Hart was the voice of the Monkees
@@kennethpeller7411 They wrote some of their hits..the Monkees sang them!
@@kennethpeller7411 Well...no....not the "voice". Perhaps the "pen"...or the "pencil". But then, many artists don't write their owns songs. Oh, and don't forget Neil Diamond in there too...
The Partridge Family came on after The Brady Bunch. Room 222 came on after The partridge Family. Not trying to be difficult but authentic.
Thanks for being authentic, Lamont!
Yes ture. But only one season between each of these series !.
And Nanny and The Professor was sandwiched in between The Brady Bunch and The Partridge Family (for the 1970-71 season), and then Room 222.
222 also followed The Odd Couple - Lots of different authentic combinations during those seasons... Don't forget the BB aired at 7:30 in 1970 when they moved Prime Time back 30 minutes...
I had a crush on Judy Strangis and was a big fan of 222 even if I didn't understand everything going on lol
Dyna Girl and Joy were my first TV crushes.
Judy Strangis was also Mean Mary Jean in the Plymouth Duster commercials of the early 1970s!
Can’t believe Judy is 74 years old. I also can’t beleive I’m 70, for that matter
It's crazy how fast time flies. 🙂
Thank you for a very informative video about these women. ♥️
You are most welcome!
Caroline was probably my first crush. I was too young to even understand what a crush was but… damn.
Same! Just knew I felt all weird when I watched Joy. I even got that record. I was 5. Used to just stare at the album while the music played. My Mom would walk by & jokingly say, " listening to your girlfriend again?" & I remember blushing. I didn't know what was going on. But I could watch her all day.
Speaking of Electra Woman and Dyna Girl, I did a reboot of those characters, but not like that God awful 2016 movie they made about them. I really hate that hipster style of humor 🤮
Part 1: One of my best friends got me into Spike Jones. I always liked Dyna Girl a little better but liked Electra Woman, too. I liked Room 222 for Karen Valentine as well as Judy.
Part 2: Joy was my favorite of the Bugaloos. Phil Collins did audition and IQ told him “You’re lucky you didn’t pass the audition!” Caroline seems like a very sweet person!
Part 3: I kind of missed out on Land Of The Lost but it was pretty well done. It probably inspired Jurassic Park. The first movie scared the heck out of me!
Thanks for sharing!
Been watching these shows on Tubi. Since I don't remember the Bugaloos.
The sleastack I hated the most was Bill Laimbeer of The Detroit Pistons. Go Lakers
Many happy hours watching the Bugaloos as a kid. Great show.
I had a huge crush on Caroline Ellis.
I went to a Spike Jones concert when I four years old in Omaha...around 1955...thought it was funny but my parents just loved him.
At 7:50 ...I was 12 in 1974 when I first saw the Bugaloos...I fell in deep love with Caroline..so much that I would curl up and cry...It is very hard on a boy with all those hormones...
Thanks Dave. I always had a crush on Kathy, too! What a mark she made for being active on TV for only a few years
How awesome was this! Reliving 3 of my favorite shows growing up(born 1966)! thanks for taking me down memory lane and going through these amazing people's lives! Loved the Burger King commercial " post credit scene" ! LOL! Keep up the great work! Love this content!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Not surprising that beautiful women stay beautiful. Especially when living the Hollywood life
Judy Srangis and the other girls are so pretty!
I saw Kathy Coleman today at a convention in Massachusetts. She was sweet.
👍👍👍📺
I’m 62 years old I watched every sid and marty kroff show.
I always thought Sheriff Lobo was like Andy Griffith gone bad. I'm glad you're doing something on that show, Dave . Also, Claude Akins as Sheriff Lobo had a good career. He was on an episode of I Love Lucy as himself scaring Lucy and Ethel per Ricky and Fred
Boy, did I have a huge crush on Joy(Caroline Ellis)
Judy in Room 222 ❤️❤️❤️. I was born in 1962, so I was very young in the early 1970’s. But I wanted to be in high school so bad with Judy as my girlfriend. That sort of happened when I was a senior in high school (1979-80) back in Connecticut. I dated a girl that looked like Judy for the entire school year.
Thanks for sharing!
Thank You for the Video (and the memories) 😀
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@jdsundstrom ✅
Krofft super show electra woman and dyna girl the bugalaoos and all the krofft TV shows are a lot of fun to watch 😊
Yes they are!
@@jdsundstrom thanks 😎
the electra woman and dyna girl segements of the krofft's supershow were only 15 minutes,so they were probably pretty easy to film a bunch at a time. room 222 came on after the partridge family, not the brady bunch. that friday night line up was fantastic. brady bunch, partridge family, room 222, odd couple and love american style. it was rivaled only by CBS's saturday night line up of all in the family, the jeffersons, mary tyler moore, bob newhart, and carol burnett. dyna girl and joy bugaloo were every pre-pubescent boy's dreamgirls in the early 70s. i know both played a big part in me becoming a "leg man" .
But they clearly DIDN'T film a bunch of EW eps at a time - they only made 16 for ONE season of the Krofft Supershow.
222 was also AFTER The Odd Couple in 1973 after they moved The Partridge Family to Saturday night - a big mistake that likely led to its demise. However, as much as ABC's Friday Night lineup was "beloved", it was in no way a rival to CBS' Saturday night lineup. (Nanny and the Professor, That Girl, and a couple of other also-ran sitcoms were in that Friday night mix too!) The Partridge Family had two seasons that were fairly well-ranked - Room 222 barely cracked the Top 30 in one season. ( was shocked to find out that The Odd Couple did NOT enjoy particularly good ratings....seems like everybody I knew watched it!) My Brady Brethren, of course, know that the Brady Bunch was really not very successful at all (even with reruns on ABC daytime in 1973) - until syndication in 1975.
FEW of ABC's Friday night shows were THAT successful....in fact, nearly all of them were off the air by the time your Saturday night lineup is going in 1974.
At 14:26 ...Wait!...I love the Mike Curb Congregation! Since I was young! The little blonde girl that would sing next to the cute Asian girl was Kathy?...After seeing so many of their performances, I never knew until now!!!!! Kathy was born in 1962...so was I...She was very cute
Didn't Judy do car commercials for Dodge as well in 76/77, as Mean Mean Mary Jean? I remember Land of the Lost quite fondly.
She sure did!
Reworking a daughter character as a love interest? That's not creepy at all. Clearly they couldn't care less about making a movie that would appeal to fans of the original. I'm glad I gave it a miss.
Aside from Columbo, the 1970 ~ 1974 time period on the (US) telly draws blank for me. Am I an anomaly with regard to this? 📺🤔
I thought karen valentine was beautiful in room 222
Karen Valentine appeared in an episode of Starsky & Hutch where she had a fatal attraction for Hutch.
I keep mentioning to you. You should do a video on the most unlucky 70s/80s actress of all time, Rhonda Bates the tall girl from Texas, who has been in more failed sitcom and sitcom pilots than any other woman in American television history. The only show close to a hit that she’s ever been on has been CPO Sharky, which I believe ran for three seasons.
I'm sure I've got her on my potential topics list. Thanks for the reminder.
I remember Room 222 but i never really watched it. My mom liked it tho. Loved Land of the Lost tho always thought they’d get home someday 😆
It's a shame that a stalker ended Judy's live action acting carrier. I hope that the authorities nab this creep.
Loves the Bugaloos! Don't forget that the comedienne Martha Raye was Benita Bizarre. She was also in many comedic movies and TV 📺 shows, including Carol Burnett Show , and became a regular on McMillan after Nancy Walker left
Martha Raye was in the 1938 movie "Give Me a Sailor" with Bob Hope and Betty Grable. The movie is on RUclips.
@@brenthaymon280 She also appeared occasionally on the TV show Alice as Mel's mother. She was quite funny on that show
At 10:33 ..she had full frontal nudity in it...I did not see this movie until about 9 years ago...
Room 222 is one of my favorites, Judy Strangis is so beautiful, I like to see a good release on tsod, maybe Shout Factory look into it.
Good call!
Thanks for sharing. It’s interesting that her character is called Dyna-“girl” but Hall’s is “Woman” they were actually only two years apart in real life.
Good point. The characters were heavily influenced by Batman and Robin; as such, Judy became that duo's version of "The Boy Wonder". 🙂
@@jdsundstrom yep, a gorgeous version of it I might add- lol
i watched Electra woman !
Kathy Met Walt Disney and she sang his songs it, be nice if you could more of what Kathy did in her music career.
Yikes. Is that a sentence?? In English? 😮😮
All the shows were great growing up in the 70 s had the best shows
@14:22 Mike Curb dated Karen Carpenter for a short while in the mid 70's.
Thanks for sharing!
One day... I will finally sit-down & write that 'Planet of the Apes'/'Land of the Lost' Crossover!
Can't wait! We could do a script read on a live stream when it's done!
Andy Serkis is doing Chaka research as we speak!!
@@bradyguy7701 That's a start!
Yeah I enjoy the original Land of the Lost and also Dyna girl and also the bugaloos I grew up as a child in the seventies back in 1976 I turned 10 years old play enjoy watching Dyna girl original Land of the Lost and the bugaloos I couldn't make out what the bugaloos were about but I love it though it just brings me back you know you bring me back to that bygone era
None of these women are forgotten stars to me. They all shine brightly in my Saturday morning Hall of Fame next to Lancelot Link, Sabrina and the Groovie Ghoulies.
I would like to add that Spike Jones was a pre Zappa.
At 11:47 ...she still looks beautiful!
where is the video of holly in the recast show? or outtake you mentioned
Here's the link: ruclips.net/video/gcoI5NsRnZM/видео.htmlsi=lDUIiFQNceEdk77u
That was Kim Fields in the Burger King commercial too.
Sure looks like her. 🙂
"Electra Woman and Dinah Girl!!" Now, show "Isis" and I can die...
Here you go. ruclips.net/video/V5ATxNDj9gI/видео.html
@@jdsundstrom NO WAY!! I CAN DIE! Thank you, totally awesome. Subscribed. 😁
I recall Kathy Coleman being in a small part in Adam 12.
Growing up in the 80s a lot of these shows were rerun to death but man… what a time to be alive and looking forward to the Saturday morning binge fest with my Kellogg Sugar Smacks and bacon and eggs. Good times. 😊😊😊😊
Dang...you were one of the lucky ones....The Krofft Supershow syndication package was just not very popular and sold poorly. We didn't ever even get it in Los Angeles, the #2 market in the country. Part of the problem with the reruns were that EW & DG, along with Dr. Shrinker and the others from the Kroftt Supershow, had (somewhat serial) episodes that were only about 12 minutes long...
@@bradyguy7701 I was lucky to have all that. Good times.
Caroline Ellis did a full frontal scene in confessions from a holiday camp in 1977 beautiful woman.
Whoa. She showed her Bugaloos??
Martin Mull tribute soon?
Probably not right away. Maybe somewhere down the road.
Loved land of the lost❤😊
I barely remember episode from electric woman and dyna girl' 'Shock rock? The guitar made ears melt? Everything melted. Cool.. I forget. But it was total rip off from KISS! Even worse was later episodes from 'land of lost' 77' 78 seasons. Sid n crofts added fire breathing 'dimetrodon LMAO! Total rip 'gene simmons' breathing fire. KISS alive 2 the absolute worst of all time favorites.
Very Cool !! Thanks for the jog thru the 70s !
SWEET!
