I swapped out my Sony A7III for a GH7 and never looked back - its an absolutely fabulous camera .. I personally find the AF better than the A7 , the PDAF is superb and fast- the features for video are fabulous ... real time LUTS saves me huge amounts of time - the record to SSD ..I'll never buy another camera I cannot record to SSD on ! GH7 body fabulous ... improved sensor is great and the menu system blows the Sony out of the water. I was on the fence about MFT cameras but I took the plunge and loving it ! The GH7 is outstanding! I'm after a B camera now and serious thinking of an S5IIX now :)

I own the GH7 since it came out and it's like a breath of fresh air compared to my GH5 for sure. especially for the autofocus. Even it's still not perfect yet. I make daily content with the GH7 so I've found a few things that didn't work as good as they claim... . I did lot's of videos talking about that already and now I just wan't to enjoy my new GH7... BUT if I could go back, I would wait for a little bit longer and go for FF. Cheers

The G9II is great as well, I do love the GH7 though

Glad you're loving the GH6 man, I am still using mine a lot. I recently flipped the rest of my Sony gear so you'll never guess what's showed up!😂

Thanks Man - Ive been using it a tonne over on my Music Channel... It's a great content creation camera!!! But yeah - The autofocus in the GH7 would be great when I'm playing bass and moving around a bit!!! I still think the S5mkiix is still on the agenda for me :) - LOL I got no idea what you potentially got or are getting?!? Could be anything!!! harha... I'll stay tuned for sure :)

@@grantrobertdavies Yeah man, for RUclips PDAF is so helpful mate. The S5IIX or G9II/GH7 would be a great addition for sure. I've seen the G9II way cheaper now online which is good. :) By the way, the GH6 is looking very nice in the studio, well done! :)

GH7 is a very tempting camera. Even though I don't shoot video at all, GH7 is a very-very tempting camera... When I will get tired and limited with my G9, I think I will buy a GH7...

I used the GH6 and travel right now with the G9-II thru Italy 🙂.
I think it's not just the AF, it is also the much better stabilization especially now with the improved e-stabilization and the DR-Boost at all ISO values.
The GH7 has a number of additional options, that might be important for film making and professional work. I decided to not need all of this:
High level codecs internal with the CFExpress
    ProResRaw internal
    No overheating
ARRI-Log and the full ARRI-workflow with LUTs and everything
The XLR2-Sound device with 32bit float audio
GH6-body is better than the G9-II (but also a bit heavier)
It is definitely the best MFT camera to date. The OM-1 might be better in some special wildlife and sport situations especially with the 300mm and the 150-400mm lenses.

I was GH5II user and upgraded to the GH7. In my opinion, if you're happy, you don't have to upgrade.
I needed high-res mode and wanted live streaming, which isn't available on the GH6. But you may not need that. I do miss having full-sensor width 50p 4:3 open gate though.
Real Time LUT and the Lab app with 5GHz really is just a bonus for me over the G9II. Though, they just pushed an update to Lab and now it can't find any images on my cards.
re: adapted lenses, I use the Viltrox speedbooster with Canon glass and the continuous autofocus is terrible. I keep it in Contrast AF for now with those lenses.

I really like the GH6, but I find myself having to edit around the autofocus issues and shooting at 2000 ISO because of potential streaking. If you're getting paid for your work, it makes your job harder. After my last job, I've had to admit that they most likely have to go.

For me, if I update my G9, i’d never trade in or sell that camera or my GX9 btw, i’d skip the G9ii, not because the G9ii isn’t amazing, but i’ll go for the GH7. The screen configuration does it for me and as a hybrid shooter, for my photography and video that screen does it all. Keep up the good work, I really like your channel.

It sounds like you've really thought this through! The GH7 is definitely a solid choice for hybrid shooters. Thanks for sharing your insights!

Hi, I have a GH5 and and EM1Mk11. Ironically i kept the emi because it had much bettter video AF. Now im considering getting the GH7 but my big thing os what Glass to get. I have two kit lenses and a Sigma 16mm f1.4. Would you recommend the 12-35 and 35-100 f2.8 pair?
