- Not even wrecked just in poor condition. Today I pick up 2005 Yamaha R1 with 18k miles and sick exhaust for only $1,540 in Tampa florida. The bike has a charging issue and needs a cosmetic rehab other then that its a pretty solid unit.

Dont know if you’ve looked into it, but there was an odd issue when I was working on my 2000 r1. I went through the whole electrical chasing a charging issue, turns out the previous owner put too high of wattage bulbs for the headlights. I replaced them and the issue dissapeared

It's always crazy how you can have a random obscure problem and someone somewhere has figured it out and comments the solution.
that was same issues i was having with factory bulb it flicking high n low so i swapped it for leds it went away n now it showing 14v with leds (honda rebel 250cc)
i was going to say swap headlights out for lower watt otherwise u be seeing that flicking headlights (too much watt drawing cause it lost power)

I understand haggling, but haggling someone after they have dropped the price is trying to get something for nothing. In my opinion, that's not cool. Friendly advise, keep your soul and deal honestly with people from start to finish. No angles, no manipulation on (I only have this amount of money game). You will be blessed if you adhere to this. It's the rectifier the stator is making the lights brighter when it revs cuz it's getting power but the rectifier isn't sending power to the battery to charge

Need to check the headlights! This system can't support higher temp bulbs unless you buy the correct power supply to run them! Run a scan and check what codes show up but don't chase your tail looking for electrical problems without checking the headlights. Good luck bro!

Change the rectifier or test it my advice swap battery change spark plugs and new voltage regulator/ rectifier and check the lights make sure their stock

Good Morning, I have a question for you. I see that you purchase a lot of your bikes from facebook market place and other places. Have you ever had orb came across salvage title bikes and if so was it difficult for you to sell one with a salvage title?
We tried getting the vin for this cause it’s suspected to be Maverick lipscomb bike that was stolen last year.
I got a Texas title with it what are the last 4 digits of the vin of the stolen bike?

Spray painted tank and no title combined with how cheap it was screams stolen... I would've walked on the deal tbh
When you do a bonded title it requires the bike to taken by the Texas State troopers office for vin inspection on a trailer and cleared of any current investigations for theft in the country wide database, or so I've been told🤷

i have the same issue with my R6 changed the coil packs an plugs it still had that stutter around 3k revs went and got the bike mapped an its still there apparently its just a R1/R6 thing. it does go away after a go ride out but the next time you ride it its back

Always check the profile of the seller. Try to confirm if they're legit. You have to be careful about these "too good to be true" deals. In my city, there have been people robbed. They show up with cash expecting a great deal, and they get robbed. Most of the scams are easy to spot. Fake profiles, or newly created profiles are sketch.
