I watched a kid do this one time. It ended up being like a 3 or 4 part series of him trading useless things for useless things. A paperclip for a piece of gum for a newspaper to an expired coupon book etc etc etc.

This video is a great example of why societies switched to currencies instead of the barter system. Yes, bartering works, but it takes a lot of time and energy to find the right people to make trades with.

Would put a fun twist on things and a practical explanation of it in the end. Love the video 👌👏
You could just say that the cost of making the trades are compensated by the earnings of the video. Basically video production cost... but I get what you are saying.
This is pretty good, even though you have a bunch of friends throwing you bones. I did this once with plate carrier (bullet proof vest), traded up a few times and ended up with a cord of fire wood. Along the way there was a kindle that i traded for a .22 rifle, that was traded for a coleman fat tire mini bike, which was traded for a honda 3 wheeler, that was then sold for $400. The $400 paid for the firewood. All said it took a couple years to do that.
The Indian FTR 1200... I dropped off and mailed soooo many post cards in that giveaway 😅 good times. My persistence will never cease either Sean. Good luck on this adventure excited to see the next episode.
I stopped watching this video once Matt gave him two recovery ropes. It was an extremely generous gesture on Matt's part, but I was hoping for an example of what could be done in the real world, not when your friends just give you stuff that is of much greater value.

That was a great video HOWEVER, technically the money you made from the projector would've been lost in the cost of the plane tickets to go visit Matt and then fly back. Aside from that, it was quite impressive! Great idea though and looking forward to seeing that FTR!

I like Matt’s off road recovery but yikes to anyone that’s gonna shell 350 on a tow strap. I can literally buy 10 harbor freight straps for that and treat them as disposable.
The next trade up can't be trading with people you know and any money you spend in your quest has to come from the profits. Keep it legit. I really enjoyed watching this and love your channel.

What landcruiser was worth $500? Have you looked at what they are going for? Clean fj-40's go for multiple 10's of thousands of dollars. if it was running at all it was worth more than $500 without a doubt.. I can't imagine a complete landcruiser (any model) at all being worth that little even not running.
I'm not saying your Harley is isn't worth more.. but landcruisers have increased in value a ton. And will likely continue to do so. I'm not a Harley guy but I know the right Harleys will do the same though.
Basically, you got a bunch of people to make a donation to you. Next time, the more direct route would be a charity website and you trade your penny in for the amount raised.
