If you have fish in the quarateen tank, how do you break the Ich cycle and prevent intriduction into the main tank?
I never cycle for soft coral as it does not produce ammonia and it eats nitrates I find it helps control algae blooms because it uses up the nitrates for Audi as a chance to take hold. I have never had algae problems since doing it Soft corals first.

I recently put some corals in an qt witch I set up the day befor with water and some spheres out of the main tank.
And yea.. They didn't like it one bit.. 2 ot of 5 acros's rtned within a week.. So I just dumped them in my tank to save them and I hope they don't have pests.
Gonna set up a good qt tank now and just keep it running..

I have extra rock that has been in my tank for almost a year. Taking a rock from the display and putting it in a new tank for coral qt, I can basically add coral right away right? Size the rock has almost a year of bacteria growth. Thanks in advance. I am getting my first coral and want to qt.

I was wondering if you could explain why you recommended having a fish in your coral quarantine? I understand that a wrasse or something would help with coral pests but I thought that half the reason you would set up a coral QT is to prevent velvet or ick and other fish diseases from getting in by having the coral in a fallow period. Could you use inverts instead and still be able to have it ick/velvet/brook free?

'Murica! If you decide water changes arent keeping up with demand or just get old, add a kamoer X1 dosing pump and tropic marin all for reef. I use it on my 20L and 40B and it keeps alk, cal, mag and trace elements super stable and its only one solution. Just some food for thought brother

Hi..humble fish reckons you need to have the temperature at 80F in a coral QT...I'm worried that's too high for certain SPS..would you think it's an issue? Thanks

Alright mate, loving the videos. I have a quick question if anyone can answer. Can you use rock from a fresh water tank to put inside your sump to help with a refugium start up. I have some rock (white dry rock.) in my fresh water tank as decoration. Can I take these stones and put them on top of some sand in my sump. then top it off with Cheato. Newbie sorry
