Just before this notification popped, I had just told myself. "Today, we just enjoy playing the songs we love. No learning anything new." Oh well, best laid plans and all that. This is just one of those songs a person needs to know how to play. My cat, and I can commiserate to this one over a beer. This is easily one of my favorite channels, thank you for another incredible lesson!
Such a great lesson thank you so much this is George’s favorite song to play and was named the best song of the Millenium back in 99 and you definitely did it right!!
Your lessons have helped me so much!!! I love all the songs you teach!! Pocket full of gold would be a good one. You are one of the best, if not the best, teacher I’ve come across on you tube!! Barbara
Sending out a request! Austin Upchurch : January Rain. I love your learn to videos! I can't find tabs for this anywhere with decent detail, so I'm just putting this out there! If I see it or not, I look forward to your videos!
I wouldn’t do that unless you have a whole band backing you. You'd have to stop playing to move it so it would sound terrible if it was just you. I'd just play the other chords like I did in this video.
Guess I’ll have to give this a whirl. That damn song brought me to Amarillo 20 years ago this summer. Thanks for the example. I see you get a lot of requests, so I guess I’ll add mine. Not a well known tune, but actually a tribute to your home state (I think), Feels Like Home (New Mexico True), by a group called Richmond. I think it was part of a NM tourism pitch several years back. Real catchy tune, and really conveys a lot of imagery about the Land of Enchantment.
@@LearnGuitarFavorites in case anyone's wondering, i'm seeing a rake down, then down, up, down, then down with a little emphasis before the change. and there some chords that go for a whole bar, some for 2 bars, and some for a half bar. cheers.
The end bouncing quickly between D E and that dang B7 is pretty tricky, the key change no problem, just the end switching quickly in and out of that dang B7 chord.
Love your tutorials brother man! Do you think you could do a lesson on cold beer conversation by George strait? I can’t seem to figure out the opening intro lick!
Robbie loving the vids mate, but could you also break down some chords that maybe difficult for others... like f#m..... Cheers buddy, learned do I by Luke Bryan from you and most people too.
@@LearnGuitarFavorites very good thank you. Working on a new RUclips channel that I'm pretty excited about and a few new possible ways to make money during these hard times we're in. Life's good.
I love how you play the song completely through after you teach it alot of instructors don't do that.
Glad you like it Rodney, Thanks!
I’m from Amarillo but moved to NYC for college. Definitely feel homesick learning this song made me feel better.

Can you please teach city of new orleans by willie nelson
Damn Strait!!! Great one Robbie
Thank you!
You made a mistake near the end, by putting a B7 in place of a Abm you missed.
When it comes to the key change, would you recommend just quickly placing a capo on the 2nd fret? I’ve even seen the pros do it on stage.
I wouldn’t do that unless you have a whole band backing you. You'd have to stop playing to move it so it would sound terrible if it was just you. I'd just play the other chords like I did in this video.

Ahh, the dreaded B7 chord, I'm guessing there's no easier way to play that chord? Ha ha! Guess I just gotta practice it enough.
Yeah, just a little practice and it's not so bad, you'll get it!!!
I really like that chord for some reason. It always stuck with me after learning “People are Strange” by the Doors.
thanx, a little tricky counting how many strums are being done on each chord.
8 ish should work👍
