@@harrybarton2150 you’re partially right the hallways scenes are the same school as Breakfast Club, those were filmed at Maine North High School in Des Plaines which closed and is now home to the Illinois State Police and the Illinois Lottery. But the outdoor scene with Rooney and Sloan was at Glenbrook North in Northbrook.
@@joejonas3684 I think Maine North had been closed not long before the Breakfast Club shoot, so they had full run of the building. They built the library set in the gym.
My favorite tidbit is, as I'm sure alot of you know, Northbrook is the high school John Hughes attended. Also, the town of Shermerville, is close to the name of the home town in both Ferris and Breakfast Club. And was the name of Northbrook until 1923, but Hughes used Sherman.
Every scene with her 😍 It reminds me of an early Marilyn Monroe movie - she has maybe 2 brief science and says just 2 lines - I have a dvd somewhere that is re-release with her on the cover - before they became stars - Sloan should have become an A-Lister -- she steals every scene with star qualities.

"go piss up a flagpole", has been used liberally since I first saw this in Australia. at around 16.. and in Sep/2023 I can still quote a whole bunch of this awesome movie. Thanks for the upload.
One thing i found funny about this movie is the actress who played Sloan was the only one who was high school age. Matthew Broderick was 23 and Alan Ruck was 29
God I can’t believe how old this movie is. It feels like it would fit right in an indie movie of present day. Yet it was released when my mom was a teen! (For reference, im 24).
Id say the 90s had its own unique charm and up until 2012 not to be cryptic surrounding the phenomena about it but i do really feel that the world did change
Then again, Rooney isn't exactly the brightest bulb in the socket either. If he had stood at the bottom of the stairs, he MIGHT have realised that Ferris was right there in front of him.
@wns808 Yeah, that was funny too. I've always loved this movie but I used to think it was dumb how Ferris peeled out and Sloan yelling "Whoo-hooo!!" when Rooney was still right there, but I realize now that Ferris did that on purpose because he wanted Rooney to see that, because Ferris was all about taking risks and excitement. That's why he was also trying to get Cameron to loosen up and be the same way
80's kids were so much cooler. Teenagers in the 80's and 90's were kind of the last to grow up pretty much without an overwhelming amount of tech. There was no cancel culture or woke culture. The kids just took life as it came and had to deal with stuff themselves. People in their 40's and 50's today are more balanced with much thicker skin for the most part from what I have seen.
"If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away?
Neither would I."
Cool, you have ears too.

I wouldn't either and I dont even have a license yet
That old myth about putting the wheels in reverse to wind back the odometer was funny. I recall people taking about it back in the early 90's.
Cameron, Ferris, and Sloane are a squad. And Sloane and Ferris are absolute goals
Who else couldn’t take their eyes off Sloan the entire movie.
Mia Sara. She was also good im the movie "Legend," starring a young Tom Cruise.

This is ONE of my favorites just because of how they drive off
That Ferrari speeding off with this music and Ferris flinging the hat just sets the tone for the flick! Like, let’s kick it in Chicago, Ferris Style!
In Tower Heist, Broderick, a Ferrari, and a parade also appear.
