Some excellent tips leo! I don't fly drones but I do fly rc airplanes, and a tip that I do in winter flying is just cut your flying times in half check your battery voltage and replace with a new warm fully charged battery and you should have no problems with your planes or drones failing, I just subscribed to your channel your friend Matti Mannisto from Canada 🇨🇦🛩🛩
Yes the battery drain is a real issue. I tried to get the ”battery temperature low” warning but didn’t manage to get that before the battery was almost empty - and some reserve juice is always a good thing! Oh that is interesting, I assume there has been a Männistö who has emigrated to Canada and has left the dots out ;) maybe we have a common greatgreatgreatgreatgreat gramdfather or something! Exciting!
@leomannisto my father is from Suomi and our name has the dots as your name does, I also have a brother and sister who live in finland 🇫🇮 maybe somewhere down the line we could be related
Quick thoughts, I deal with -50 °Fahrenheit/-45.56 °Celsius every year in winter. Use snap heaters in your camera bag to keep your batteries and camera gear warm. Isolate them in the gear bag with a handkerchief or cloth so they are not directly touching your gear. Don't stand on snow or ice if you can help it, stand on leafs, pine needles, dead grass etc. The ice and snow will pull heat from your shoes like a heat sink. If you have to take off your gloves put them in an inside jacket pocket so they stay warm and your hands won't lose more heat warming the gloves back up.
That is solid and good advice from someone who knows what he is talking about! Hypothermia is a beast and taking measures against is crucial. Thank you for your tips!
@@leomannisto Those snap heaters can really make a huge difference in your comfort, your camera gear/drones performance and how long you can stay out in the winter. Subbed 👍
Hello Leo, really find your videos useful. Especially since I plan to take my drone with me to Germany soon, I’m from Scotland. I’m fully registered with operator id and liability insurance. I just have one question for you, when I look on Drone assist app where I can fly. The whole of Berlin city has a no fly zone, is it really not possible to fly there at all even with a 249g drone?
I am so happy to hear, that you find my videos useful, appreciate! I live in Hamburg so I don't exactly know how Berlin handles the drones, every federal state has somewhat different rules (why make it simple, when totally impossible is possible? ;) ) I have to have a look at the "Droniq" app, it should be the most accurate regarding no-fly zones and I'll get back to you. nice skies and all the best!
That’s a really good tip! Humid weather, Dew Point and Temperature close together and the icing is guaranteed. Anti-icing fluid for drones would be cool!
Leave your tips for winter flying here! 👇 I’d love to hear from you!
Congrats. Very cool. Liked. Have a happy time.
Thank you! Appreciate. You too, nice skies!
That shot at 1:04 is something I am super proud of. And the sock footage.
that is a cool shot indeed! cheers mate!
Love the vibe man. Hope you feel like posting another video again soon!
Thank you, so nice to hear you liked it! I felt so yesterday so there is a new one to watch too. ;)

That is so fascinating! I mean it is not that common surname either, about 2200 or so, 120 outside of Finland (Finnish citizens).

Don’t fly when it’s the foggy in minus degrees, and if you do then take the drone down ASAP when you get the ‘motor error’ messages 💀
