This video is especially useful when you've got a laptop with a built in SD card slot. I'm gonna try it on mine tonight as the card slot is having problems reading the cards even though I already cleaned the SD cards.
A better choice for cleaning the contacts would be CAIG DeOxit Contact Cleaner. DeOxit is very effective at cleaning contacts. That metal polish leaves a residue that's very difficult to completely remove unless you can disassemble the SD card slot enclosure.

Thanks, I'm going to try this on my camera. It's really frustrating to have a $1500 camera that can't properly read/write brand new SD cards anymore.
I didn't have Tarn-X, so I tried some isopropyl alcohol and it's working again! If I have any problems later, I'll go buy some Tarn-X.

Metal cleaning solution = acid. Hence the gloves. If you don’t get it off the contacts it will corrode back worse than it was.
