    A lot of people are having problems updating the firmware, due to the inability to get their computer to talk with the LivePro via their computer network. The easiest solution is to get someone with some basic networking knowledge to help.
    Otherwise, some hints
    1) Use a network cable to connect your LivePro to the same router used by your computer (computer can be either wired or wireless)
    2) Set the IP Address in LivePro to DHCP (this will ask the LivePro to get a valid IP address from your router). This makes the LivePro and your computer able to talk with each other
    3) Go to the Info page of the LivePro (last item in the Menu items) to see the IP address set in step (2)
    4) Continue with the rest of the update process
    Hope this helps

    Important news.
    There is a similar device called RGBlink mini - and it is the original thing, Feelworld ordered the manufacturing from RGBlink. And you know what - it is firmware-compatible. So, essentially the same except the top housing panel design and price difference (RGBlink is a bit more expensive and isn't sold on Aliexpress - but is available from reputable sellers like B&H and Adorama in the USA, and Thomann in Europe).
    RGBlink are slightly more responsible about their firmware updates, so just now I did an experiment of feeding the RGBlink's mid-December 2020 firmware to L1. And you know? It totally works. My device still thinks it is a Feelworld Livepro L1, retains its original splash screen and serial number, but the actual firmware is new (1.19/1.03 instead of my original 1.17/0.40) - like, some terminology changes in menus (“EMBEDDED” in audio is now called “AFV”) and new PIP functionality added, you can now switch PIP image independently of the main one (there is an A/B option in PIP menu).
    I did not check the analog audio sync since I need only a non-following HDMI audio.
    RGBlink's XPOSE and XTOOL desktop/smartphone software are also fully compatible. So I'm completely sure that it is some badge engineering with price reduction on the Feelworld's part.
    Also, RGBlink has a mini+ device - which Feelworld dubs Livepro L2. The differences are that: 1) the Feelworld's L2 is mentioned only in their paper instruction manual and is absent on their websites and on Aliexpress, while mini+ is there at least on the manufacturer's website; 2) mini+/L2 has the DSK (keying) and logo embedding functions that mini/L1 lack. So it made me think: what if the difference is purely in the badge and the firmware, and hardware is completely similar? In the end I decided to flash my L1 with a mini+ firmware - and bingo, it works! At that, my device still retained its name and serial number, and the XPOSE software still does not allow doing keying and logo uploading. Moreover, RGBlink pulled their mini and mini+ firmware files off both their English and Chinese websites (at least for the time being), but I still have the files.
    I am now also pondering on how to circumvent that limitation, so I tasked some of my programming-savvy friends with reverse-engineering the mini+ firmware and, possibly, the XPOSE executable and five DLLs that are of consequence. The only thing that needs to be done is renaming the device - which, oddly enough, does not come with updating its firmware. Not sure of the outcome because it isn't a paid job on their part, but if there are any updates I'll post them here.
    Also, the mixer has a Keil web server at port 80 but it is not configured and thus useless. Probably it was a stock part of the main chip SDK, or maybe some provisional thing for the future firmware releases
    Greetings from Moscow, Russia.

      Rather warm. Like handwarming-warm. Yet, no glitches and nothing critical. The only thing that heats up there is XILINX ARTIX-7 XC7A200T FPGA which does the actual job of mixing, effects, etc. Ideally there should be a dedicated DSP there but FPGA allows very quick releases without venturing into designing dedicated chips.

    Curious on the firmware, I've seen a few mentions of have Chroma and Luma in the new version. I just bought one with .46 firmware which seems to be the latest but there is no chroma or Luma that I can see. I still would be able to use this if you could resize the PIP but without those 3 options this doesn't work as I want. I do more VJ and creative type mixing so I was looking for more flexibility. Am I missing something with this one or is it just not the best for my use case?

    just because you don't know what purpose a feature serves doesn't mean they should be deleted. the split screen effects are meant so you unstrech the image on a sofware and have the ability to get 2 video inputs via usb. obviously you lose some resolution doing that but it works for what it was meant to do.

I am interested in using this for a multi-cam setup for live action sports such as football, basketball, wrestling, etc., and I am hoping to find out how long the delay is when you switch from input to another? I am hoping that you can tell me its instantaneous or imperceptible. Thanks again for the time and effort put into making these videos. To those of us on the fence are very helpful!

    • @IgnatSolovey

      If you set the transition (MIX) option to CUT (and, just to make sure, use XPOSE software and set 0.0s there) and use FAST switching option, the switching is instant, no delay whatsoever. Each input and output has a separate chip on it and that ensures no delays.
      By the way, L1 (RGBlink mini) and L2 (RGBlink mini+) are different devices. They have identical hardware, but L2/mini+ adds chroma key, custom logo (256x128 px max, BMP) and PTZ camera control. Regardless what RGBlink says, it is possible to put the mini+ firmware into mini/L1, but the software (which is responsible for chroma key and logo) still sees the device as L1 and doesn't allow any extended functionality. PTZ camera control works from the device itself though, but from my point of view this is much less useful thing than chroma key and logo. My friends and I are working on how to make the software think of re-flashed L1 as of a mini+, that includes some reverse engineering.

RGBlink mini and Livepro L1 are the same device, firmware cross-compatible (RGBlink does updates faster), but I am not sure if it is possible and not destructive to try and feed RGBlink mini+ firmware into the original L1. I did update the L1 with the recent mini firmware and it works like charm (see my slightly earlier dedicated comment somewhere under this video), but I don't think that it is safe to try and push the things any further. There may be hardware differences I am not sure of.

      You need a computer that's capable of handling something like a 1080p webcam. This connects to the computer a "webcam" of sorts. Make sure you have an i5 or AMD that's a similar spec. This did work on an old FX8350 CPU with an old video card. It doesn't require the highest spec pc as it's MJPEG to the computer.

  • @antraunturner4217
    @antraunturner4217 2 года назад

    In the video, you spoke about the improvement of the audio portions of the new upgrade. I have my L1 hooked into my mixer, it's plugged 3.5 mm into the L1 and 1/4 inch into the mixer. Now with the new improvement, you said something about having a jeweled channel XLR adapter and that can run the 2 mics into the HDMI signal 1. And use that as your main audio source. Do you have a picture of what that looks like?

    • @StudioGalvan
      @StudioGalvan 2 года назад

      Actually, what he said was "Dual channel XLR adapter". Not "Jeweled".
      Crazy Accent! 😅
      The Takeaway is: You have to mix your audio at the source since there is no mixing w/in the unit and it is best to use the main camera as the HDMI audio source so that audio & video are in sync.

    • @IgnatSolovey
      @IgnatSolovey 3 года назад

      No, you don't, although you can have it either way. This thing doesn't need anything, not even drivers, to show what's fed into it over USB 3.0 on almost any OS, but you can have multiview on a PC and program out on HDMI via a capture card, although not sure why would you need that kind of setup. Technically you can do with just plugging it into USB and assigning PGM to USB to stream while keeping an eye on other sources using the built-in 2" screen, but that screen, while no doubt useful, gives you just a vague hint on what happens on four inputs. If you want to do any more or less advanced mixing, like using the PIP function, it is really wise to have a display plugged into HDMI out. It can be absolutely anything that has an HDMI input. Also, you can change between PVW and PGM on either output (USB/HDMI) at any given moment seamlessly or almost so.

One ethernet port is more than enough for streaming and control (control doesn't use bandwidth at all). SD slots, second USB and HDD slot are beyond reality in this case though.
