  • We have had the Parasound JC1+ Mono blocks since the Pacific Audio Festival July 2022. We have had ample time to develop our impressions, I will share those in this video.

John Curl is the real deal.... It has to be said that many a Parasound owner of either JC1+ or JC5 (including myself) are eagerly awaiting a pre amp to succeed (and improve even further on the performance of) the JC2BP
... That aside the JC1+, JC5 are incredibly dependable performers.

Having just purchased the JC5/JC2 I'm really in shock at how good this system sounds. The JC2-BP was probably the biggest wow factor I have ever experienced.

Someone else here mentioned that the amp goes from Class A into Class AB . . . not B . . .. that is an important distinction because this great amp never operates in Class B ! Just saying :-) For this level of sophistication and build quality, IMHO it IS a great value! and apparently a superb match for electrostatic speakers.

I wonder why they dropped the little red illuminated 'P' logo? That was a Parasound 'Thing'...
I'm sure they sound just as wonderful though😉🍻

Thought I'd always miss my red P's.... and I do still kind of..
But the revised faceplate with thin gold trim/PARASOUND, JC signature and the higher quality feel of aluminium end caps in combination with gold feet on black case look 🔥

After 25 watts of Class A it taps into class AB. you said Class B which is not correct. Thanks for the great content.

isn't class B plus 25 watts of class A... Class AB? If so, then yes, it taps into class B... to create class AB

@@zachansen8293 not exactly. AB operation is a bit different than class B. B is more efficient but yields more crossover distortion. Here is a good video that explains. ruclips.net/video/kwMWpy_HhGs/видео.html

Well, I'm not a $20k Audiophile, but an Audiophile nonetheless. Parasound it seems, from the totality of reviews I've read and heard, is consistent in its sound reproduction. I believe this has much to do with it's use of toroidal transformers (not ignoring John Curl). These provide what I call a hybrid sound, between tubes which are warm, and solid state which has a quick attack.
I've just purchased 2 used A23s from reputable dealers to use as monoblocks. While waiting on the other to arrive I'm using one in my system as stereo. The sound is superb, sublime. The bass has weight and authority, and the mids and highs are smooth and detailed without fatigue. I've been looking for a review of either the A23s or the A23+ has monoblocks. I haven't found one. Is it possible to request Olsen's do a monoblock review of then?
    Thanks for reading.

I'm trying to come up with something witty to say that's not just a size joke. But that thing is HYUGE!
