    Maddona uses FRACAS. The vintage, classic, set the bar for all other tuberose, apparently.

    As soon as I get the notification, I watch! I just fitted a floating shelf in the bedroom just for all of your fragrances that I have bought. I have had about 10x more compliments in the last month than the last 15 years of my life. Thanks Aaron.

      My top three favourites right now are Boss Bitch, Oud and Luna. I would be interested to hear other peoples top 3's?

      I agree with Boss Bitch! That sultry tobacco mixed with patchouli and oud is fabulous. Warm and inviting. Haven’t had the pleasure of trying out Oud and Luna yet but they are on my list.

    Yeah, Madonna used Fracas by Robert Piguet but she also helped create her OWN fantastic, bubble-gummy tuberose fragrance called Truth or Dare (go figure)..lol! I LOVE Rouge Malachite myself - it is considered a Boss B!%ch fragrance - so, I think its interesting that you described it as 'corporate'...The sweeter, baby sister of this fragrance is Dolce & Gabbana's The Only One Intense for Her - If you ever want to review something similar...I would be curious how you would compare the two. Thank you as always for your thoughts...xoxo

    • @theprousteffect9717
      @theprousteffect9717 2 года назад +1

      He meant "corporate" in terms of the setting responsible for this type of fragrance. It smells relatively safe (which isn't automatically a bad thing), as though the perfumers were given a very specific brief on the kind of perfume they were supposed to create, and didn't stray from that.

    Tuberose is one of those notes I have problems with in fragrances. Sometimes it smells 'old' or stuffy, other times it smells absolutely carnal and of a woman's flesh. I don't care for it in general but if its well-blended with other florals then it can elevate a scent. I actually feel the same way about orange blossom, neroli, jasmine sambac, ylang-ylang, tiare, frangipani, etc. Very problematic notes for me and so often used in the summer time for those 'beachy' type of scents that make me sick to my stomach.

    • @theprousteffect9717
      @theprousteffect9717 2 года назад +2

      Yes, I have similar issues. Most women's summer fragrances I won't even touch because they're often loaded with white florals, which I can't tolerate under ordinary circumstances, let alone in extreme heat.

    • @revenge0lobster
      @revenge0lobster Год назад

      I relate. I wish I could enjoy that range of notes, but they genuinely make me gag or retch on an atavistic level. Having said that, Penhaligon’s Heartless Helen is the sole tuberose that I can tolerate, and actually enjoy. I smelled it in the Athens airport and it has been stuck in my mind since then.

    Love your reviews man. You’re the only fragrance guy I’ve decided to follow despite watching some of the others quite often. You give us something the rest cannot.
    This is a random designer fragrance that’s decent that I could not find more than one review on despite being a flanker in a well known line. Would you be kind enough to review Gucci Guilty eau pour homme? It’d be nice to have a legitimate person’s thoughts on it.

      Unfortunately yes. When i got it i loved the scent and thought (hoped) it will last forever on me but i had to find out that there is zero sillage and projection at least in my case.. i think it‘s more of a „close to skin“ perfume but that‘s not what all people raved about. Complete opposite 😕 too expensive for this performance

    As a straight man, who also leans for modern next-gen scents, thus who hates outdated notes like Tuberose, i have to clap my hands to Rouge Malachite, they did a Tuberose fragrance really gorgeously.
    Wouldn't mind smelling it again to retest to get a better understanding of it's dna.
    It's a little forgettable, wasn't exciting enough for me to rave on about.
    This is also reviewer Demi Rawling's favorite signature fragrance out of the hundreds she owns.

  • @ΙΩΑΝΝΗΣΚΟΥΤΣΟΓΙΑΝΝΗΣ-ρ9λ

    The Children of the Corn reference is Malachi "My Messenger", a Jewish prophet in the Hebrew Bible.
    Hebrew is a difficult language to learn, but I imagine you would love the biblical language for the artistic poetry that leaps off every page.

    I think that a lot of master perfumers that work for designer and niche fashion/perfumery houses might feel like if they push the envelope that the particular fragrance that they've either worked on or are working on might not sell well. Either that or corporate getting involved to make sure that the fragrance goes in line with the current trends and what's crowd pleasing/mass appeal in order to maximize sales and profits. They're essentially playing it extremely safe since it's very... Very costly to produce hundreds & thousands of units that might sell or might not sell so they want to make sure that if they put out a fragrance out there that it will sell surprisingly well.

    Hey Aaron! I recently discovered a fragrance from Mancera which has really enchanted me! I walked into my local debenhams recently to try out red tobacco and came across Mancera “Hindu Kush”. I sprayed it thrice on my sleeve and it’s lasted for 3 days on my skin underneath even after showering about 5 times. Would love your review on it! Also “Crazy for Oud” by Mancera is quite nice! FANTASTIC Work on the videos mate! I look differently at fragrances now thanks to you!

    Quick question, is rosin (colophonium) used within perfumery? Im allergic and find it within soaps etc. but wonder if I should be more diligent with perfumes as I guess there might be perfumes out there that I should avoid.

    I love real tuberose (it grows where I live) but I love it in the air, like gardenia it only smells good to me in real life and wafting through the air, smelling it growing outdoors or smelling it in a vase indoors in a room. I have never loved tuberose in perfumery, though, because too much tuberose in concentration in perfumes can be overwhelming and does not smell like the flower. There are certain flowers that perfumers so far have not been able to get right for me, namely tuberose and gardenia.

    love tuberose. here we have real tuberose and the smell of fresh picked flowers is incredible. i havent smelled an identical tuberose perfume as the flower petals thought. im thinking of enfleurage because the accords i have tried dont come close. its such a beautiful, creamy, fresh white floral.
