I am an RV woman.But I spent the last year of my life in one when our house burnt down. We realized it was much handier. I was a teenager then.I’m also curious to know how he met his wife.She’s a beautiful lady, and she seems like she’s very nice.

Great video. I left Holland at 6 years of age to come to my new home of Australia. Been here 35 years but still love seeing the dutch country side as i was born in Nunspeet.

@@Onrust1 I live in north sweden, great videos, just giving you some travel tips, road trip up swedens east coast, and all the way up to Nortcape in norway and then follow Norways west coast down, its amazing, there is a lot of campings in sweden, and great wheter during summer months good for swiming in the ocean, at leat in sweden. Norway is always a bit coold, if you decide to go let me know 👌 best regards
I like it!! I'd live in that travelling all year for many years! Comfy, well spaced out, well thought out and would suite our family VERY nicely. Home school the kids .. doing their schooling at the table whilst travelling etc.
Home schooling is illegal in the Netherlands though. Should be illegal in the USA aswell. It's a dangerous concept of indoctrination. I heard these home schooling "Packages" in the USA are extremely religious and dangerous.

I used to drive single and double deck buses.. Never liked sitting upstairs if they were moving, if I caught one as a passenger. 4:05 right before going under the bridge I would be thinking is driver sure it will fit thoughts.. if you been there before it makes it easier to adapt to.. I've seen a lot of RVs both commercially and home built and this one is always one of my personal favourites.. 12:40 Lambs for life. I hope someone knew that saucepan looked to be boiling?
It is such a beautiful bus! If I had the money I would purchase it right away - even if I don't have any place to keep it or a bus drivers license ;)

The last time we traveled with it, I recorded everything we (well I) have to do before we can drive off. I still want to make a coherent video of that.

I get that question more often, so somewhere last year I taped all that footage. As I came home I just didn't know how I could make a nice video with that.. I still think that video could only be boring... But after your question I thought maybe I should put it all in my other channel.. that would be a nice compromise, maybe.. I will think about that.
Ik ben toch wel eerlijk gezegd heel benieuwd wat zoiets kost. Dus de bouw + aanschaf. Zitten zelf altijd met een camper namelijk. En dat is al niet goedkoop, dus zo''n mooie bus al helemaal niet. Maar het is zo heerlijk om vrij te zijn om zelf te beslissen waar je naar toe wil gaan, en wat je ziet. Dat maakt het het allemaal waard.

I live and work in Washington DC and know that not all of the wind turbines are connected to electric utility because they are separate private companies. So many turbines spin in vain on the west coast, especially: CA, OR, WA states. where wind is abundant, but the utilities don't utilise them

Yes I have a plan to show you that, but I've got so many other things. But I made the video footage, so I have to make a video and upload. Laundry we do at home... 😊

To be honest, I would like to live like this in the near future. With this pandemic changing a lot of things, I would want to just do online consultations as work, send money online and let me enjoy remote life quietly with my wife. If I want to get away, I'd just take the whole house with me. LOL
Another US viewer here. Love this bus! I don't think professionals could have done a better job. I have one question though. Here in the US you will never know what's ahead of you down the road. The next overpass could be lower than your bus is high. How do you deal with this issue (if it is an issue in Holland)?
Thank you! Yes, that is an issue in whole of Europe. However, the highways and main roads are all accessible for the largest trucks, and those are 4 meters, so if you stick to those roads, you're fine anyway. Go off, however, and you'll have to be watching your steps, yes. 😊 Most overpasses have good signs, and furthermore I like to think I developed some kind of sixth sense for the height issue... I hope I'm right. 😆

Beautiful bus. I'm looking at an RV here in the US and wondering if you have looked at filtering the gray water, especially while showering to increase your time between water refills? They say it is really life changing.
I don't know about the life changing part. 😊 I looked into it and decided not to do it. It takes quite some place this installation. We have a 600 liters fresh water tank, and that is sufficient for us. But yes, the grey water tank is the first one to be full, so we tend to use the shower of the camp sites where we stay, and not our own. Come to think of it, I designed the bus with a place to stay in mind with a direct water connection and a sewer connection. We didn't stay at such a place yet. 😋
Zeer mooie ombouw. Welk rijbewijs heb je hiervoor nodig om met deze bus te rijden? Is de tachograaf nog in gebruik?
Dankje. Rijbewijs D, bus, ivm. de 11 stoelen die er nog in zitten (zou je er 2 uithalen, kan er een vrachtwagen van worden gemaakt). Ja ik gebruik de tachograaf nog. Kleine moeite en kan verwarring en discussie voorkomen, zeker in de landen buiten Nederland.

Thank you. The camera is just a cheap action cam (Denver). Recently I bought me a GoPro, so I suspect the images even to get better. I have the 8 Black. I haven't yet used it that much, but already like it. I just use it's own battery. It goes a long time and I bought it in a kit (with the chest mount) and that came with an extra battery and an external charging station.

Prachtige bus! Met een 11 liter 6 cilinder diesel.. is het wat te doen qua wegenbelasting en verbruik?
Belasting is mij erg meegevallen: 220 euro / kwartaal. Verbruik heb ik nog maar één keer echt kunnen meten en dat was onder de minst gunstige omstandigheden (veel bergen - van Tsjechië naar Duitsland) en toen deed hij 1 : 2,5, ik ga er van uit dat dat hier in NL 1 : 3 a 1 : 4 is.

Have you thought of adding a roof terrace... it would be great to be outside enjoying the view and weather on top of the bus.
It never was something I considered. First it isn't easy, because this vehicle already is 4 meters high, which is the road legal limit over here, so building something on top is not impossible, but not easy, second I know the roof is vulnerable for leaks, so that makes me somewhat hesitant beginning something like this and third for the environment on a campsite, the people around you, it is more 'open' to be in a chair next to the bus than on the roof. Although I've seen buses with roof terraces (and even recorded them - ruclips.net/video/pcPUwYUAjbg/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/pcPUwYUAjbg/видео.html ) I have yet no regrets.

hi Onrust you achieved alot with the relisation of this Bus. I think its a one of a kind Project. That being said - did you encounter any vibration caused issues while driving it? Like strange noises of some random panel while driving or stuff is getting loose because of the Vibrations caused by the tires / roads ?
And - since iam from Germany i would like to know how the Dutch Government gives out permissions to actually streetlegal drive things like this on the Road.
Here in Germany youd have to see one of those TÜV Inspectors and he basicly could outright deny you the permission..
Nein, keine Probleme mit Geräusche. Das schwierigste ist Flaschen mitnehmen - die fangen manchmal an zu rollen im Schrank. Und man darf eben niemals vergessen einen Schrank zu schließen. Da kann in die Kurve alles raus fallen (passiert auch). Die lage mit Kennzeichen ist glaube ich in DE gleich wie in NL. Wo eine Wille ist, ist ein Weg. Es gibt viele Deutschen die mit einen Doppeldecker rund fahren. (Wir sammeln uns bei www.wohnbusse.eu.)

Stiekem ontzettend jaloers op jullie mooie bus jammer genoeg ben ik niet zo heel handig 😎 mocht er nog een keer een video komen zou ik wel is wat over de techniek willen zien. En voor je water gebruik heb ik een video gezien van een camper die zijn water kon zuiveren en kon her gebruiken misschien wat voor jullie? Bedankt voor de video.
Ik heb al het ruwe materiaal voor een 'techniek'-video opgenomen, maar kon me er niet toe zetten om daar een video van samen te stellen, omdat ik bang was dat die erg saai zou worden... Over waterzuivering heb ik nagedacht, maar het bewust niet gedaan omdat het complex is, duur, onnodig en veel ruimte in beslag neemt. Zelfs grijswater nemen voor het toilet leek me geen goed idee, met het oog op de vervuiling die je niet in je systeem wilt...
Van je wc water drinkwater maken geen goed idee. Kon de video niet meer terug vinden die ik had gezien over water zuiveren. Mocht je een keer tijd hebben maak de video maar.👍🏻
Het woord "bus" is niet echt meer van toepassing lijkt mij, supercamper!
Wat een heerlijk droom project. Ik zou wel willen maar mn oprit is te klein.
Also mit dem Bus zu wohnen ist ganz anderes Gefühl als Zuhause... Ein gutes Video und man könnte hier im Bus ein Wasserkocher stellen, die reichen auch normaler Autostecker.

Wir waren zu Pfingsten noch an der Schiedersee (Schieder-Schwalenberg), so wie jedes Jahr. Da gibt es auch Video's davon in dieses Kanal.. Und in 2016 haben wir Urlaub gemacht in D, und in 2017 waren wir auf durchreise nach Tschechien und Österreich auch einige Tage dort.. 😊

Hoi. In welke prijs klasse zitten jullie met aankoop en ombouwen. Ik heb ook intresse in een ombouw bus
Aankoop was (alweer in 2011) 15.000 euro. Verder kun je veel beter zelf een begroting maken, dat heb ik ook gedaan. Dan weet je ongeveer wat je kwijt bent. Je kunt het zo duur maken als je zelf wilt.

Ja natuurlijk. 😊 Het bustarief valt wel mee: 220 / kwartaal voor deze bus. Terug te halen valt er niks, maar er is wel een kwarttarief voor 'bussen met kampeervoorzieningen'. Dat heb ik twee keer aangevraagd en ben afgewezen, terwijl ik weet dat anderen met een bus dat wel hebben...
Oh zie nou pas je vraag over het rijbewijs. Ja, D. Maar dat is afhankelijk van hoeveel stoelen je laat staan. Zou je hem met twee stoelen minder er in laten herkeuren, dan wordt het een vrachtwagen en moet je C hebben.

Minder uitgebreid maar toch een woonbus!
Is dat niet een stadsbus? Wordt maar zelden gebruikt om om te bouwen. Ze missen vaak het motorvermogen of de snelheid (overbrenging) en missen hoe dan ook de laadruimte, die je goed kunt gebruiken.

Have you guys run into a tunnel that’s too low for your bus, what do you do when that happens?
Yes. Take another way. Most of the times these places where you can't pass are announced with traffic signs far ahead, so you can think about a detour. But it happens that you stand for a bridge that is too low, and that you have to take some random action and see how you get back on track. It rarely happens, though - I tend to take the bigger roads, where the bigger supply trucks drive too, I know they are 4 meters too. And if we occasionally take a small road, before we leave I try to take a careful look on Google Maps, if that road crosses a railway, and how that crossing looks - underneath, overhead or same level. If the road goes underneath, I try to see if I can see with Streetview if I can see how much room there is - by the traffic signs.

Behind there is some kind of utility room, a place for the water tank, the gas tank, the water heater, the outside units of the ACs and the waste water tanks...
