Nice. Which Panther? Personally I think Tamiya’s Panther D and Panther G are the best Panther kits
The Tamiya Panther D is the finest model kit I've ever built in the last 60+ years. Everything fit perfectly.

Have never built a Takom kit, but I took a chance on the bundle due to the price. Seeing the plastic has me really excited to get these in.
They make nice kits. Plenty of detail and fit together well. I like them more than Dragon and Trumpeter.

My hobby has been more about collecting kits lately.
I always have one on the deck being worked on.
But definitely buying more than i can build. I enjoy the historical facts regarding each kit pluss i really enjoy the way and detail how there made.

At 14:00 the narration says "The late production will have late tracks in it, the mid will have early tracks".
Actually, the Mid kit (which is not in this video) should also have Late tracks. The Mid Tiger of Otto Carius (reviewed in this video) was very unusual in having a set of Early tracks, probably because it wore out its original tracks.
I have some nice panzer brass MG barrels that will fit the front nicely 👌
I also really like how we get some engine bay moldings to see through the screens.
Ordered mine back in November. Can't wait to get it.
I am happy to see the individual kits are as inexpensive as the Big Box set. I don't know what I'd do with 3 Tiger models (I like variety) but a single Tiger kit with that detail for $35 is a deal. Keep up the good work Andy.

Thanks Andy. I'm excited to get my Big Box and build some more Tigers. One thing I noticed is that Takom applied zimmerit to the plate that covers the transmission. Same plate that the front flaps mount to. I think we will have to sand off that zimmerit to keep it historically accurate. I believe the idea comes from a zimmerit coating that was recreated on a tiger in a museum. Just a note for folks. Thanks again!
It's actually not clear if that plate was supposed to have Zimmerit. Photos are few and far between. It's probably that some did and some didn't.
Would like to have early tiger from i believe was at leningrad.
The only early i have is i think from the 504th ?
From there time in north Africa and that one is a dragon kit. I also picked up dragons north Africa marching paratrooper and MG 34 team to go with it.

The Mid appears to be missing the rear mounted gun travel lock, but I don't think those were ubiquitous
Otto Carius' Mid Tiger had the rear travel lock, and Takom's Mid kit includes it. Check out the last pages of the instruction book.

14:47 after glueing the Hollow Horns to the tracks, what’s the best method to cut off the Sprue Gates without disturbing the glue bond and bending / breaking the Hollow Horns off? Please.
I was thinking about that! My approach would be a snipper, and be sure that you're NOT holding the track with your fingers or anything BUT the snipper. Otherwise there will be differential forces that could break it.

I have to say, the "Late" Tiger's instructions are confusing as regards the optional parts. Takom don't clearly tell you why the options exist. Some of them are based on the date of the tank, and some of them make the difference between Command and "ordinary" Tigers. The instructions don't explain this. Takom apparently expect the customer to know the Tiger very well.
Typical garbage Takom instructions mate. Notice, no detail painting call outs either. Takom are well known for bad instructions. Which is a pity, because the plastic itself is good.
Hi Andy, the hull gun is most likely an Mg34 (99.99%) the turret machine gun, most likely an Mg42. The difference had little or nothing to do with the firing rate, both very similar. However, the Mg34 replacement barrel came out straight back. The Mg42 the barrel came out from the side and in the space inside the tank would not allow the barrel to be changed..
Not true. Panzers almost never carried the MG42. Because they already had a couple of MG34, and TWO large boxes of parts and accessories PER GUN, so what's the point of adding a different type of MG that is incompatible with the tools you already have?
But, if I'm wrong, you will surely link us to a photo of a Panzer mounting an MG42.
Outstanding kits with the one exception being the pseudo-torsion bars. They should have been full length and accurate to the actual vehicle rather than the half-length mock-ups that they went with. I don’t understand why they put so much effort into these incredible kits only to literally go half way on the torsion bars.
Andy, I'm curious what in your personal opinion is the best Tiger 1 tank kit in 1 35 scale. You don't have to explain it, but I would appreciate it. I know you don't want to knock kits you sell, but your top Tiger 1 kit please.

On Tiger I info which is hardcore Tiger I information center they say it has some issues...

I wish you could focus on new releases like the Zoukie Mira FW-190 and Miniart P-47. I have both. I had to buy from your competitors. Its a bit tiring of Tigers and 1/16 toys.

The zimmerite pattern is diffurent on the turrets. The late has a larger pattern.

I read Otto Carius's war journal. He was a whiny POS who swore he was not an enthusiastic supporter of the government, but praised an SS unit he worked with. He got transferred to the western front and whined that the US Army wouldn't march in front of his guns; once they located his unit they'd go around, call in artillery, or call in air support. He wanted to face Soviet-style mass attacks that spent lives cheaply, not an opponent that wanted to win, but also wanted to live.
Totally unnecessary. The market ist oversaturated with Tiger (and also Panther, Panzer IV etc...) models. For a change some cars, trucks or medieval stuff would be nice.
Hey my friend, if they’re making these kits don’t you think it’s because they’re meeting the market demand for them? If the other kit styles were more popular then they’d put more of those out. None of this is meant to diminish interest in the other kits you mentioned.
