I think the 2 nicest things about the convertible is…….1. much more exotic looking. 2. The fact you can drop the top and still have a trunk to use. That was by far the biggest reason I chose an HTC… I live in AZ so the top is almost always down and I didn’t want to loose basically the whole trunk space putting the Targa Top in there. For me the HTC was the way to go…. Happy Holidays everyone!
I have 3LT convertible Stingray and it's totally worth the extra dough. 110% satisfaction. No point in spending that much money is you're not gonna be, at least, 100% satisfied.
Our 2023 3LT HTC is perfect. Not only better looking, not losing trunk space (our top is down when it is not raining regardless of temperature here in northern Illinois), and not having to waste time cleaning 2 windows and an engine compartment instead of enjoying my time driving it. Did I mention no mechanical engine noise, just sweet exhaust sound with the top up or down.
I live in Florida and the HTC is the way to go! I drive 95% of the time with the top down, when it decides to rain while im driving, i can safely put the top back up without having to scramble to find a place to stop.
I had a porsche 911 s cab and it would get so hot you would have to open the doors to let it air out before you entered. That could be a problem depending on where I parked. I can start my 2024 c8 convertable, leave on the air if I want, and drop the top with the remote before I walk to the car.No problem!
2 years later and the HTC is a no brainier for me. Other than what other have said, you hear the engine and exhaust much better. Also, having owned a targa 911, I hated the need to jump out and rush to put the top on when the rain is coming down. It’s the best of both worlds, looks like a coupe when up, exotic convertible when down. Love it! Worth every penny.
The convertible is the only way to go and is well worth the money. I own one, not only does it look better, but you don't lose trunk space with the top down. 😉 👍
I personally own a 70th anniversary edition htc c8 z51 and love it. I have a new c8 z06 htc coming in next week and will update this post about it when I take delivery.
I was thinking about buying a Porsche spyder in large part because of that look with the top down. After having spent 12 years with a c6z06 and loving every minute of it my interest in the Porsche vanished when I saw the c8convertable. I'm ordering a '24 and repeating the wonderful museum delivery experience, then driving sans top from Ky back home to So. Calif. Thanks for the video I enjoyed it..:)
You can get one today by paying a markup,if you have the patience you can get one. I waited 28 months, and glad I did. I would never ever pay a mark up for any car. My choice waited so long to get what I wanted 😊
I bought a previous owned HTC 2023. Let's examine. I've owned 1972 T-Top for 40 years of it 50 years. The T top stays on the luggage rake on the back unless I'm buying gas. One 1988 for Autocrossing, I never took the top off, to many screws to take off, a pain. Two C5 seldom did I take the top off. Too much trouble. One C6 GS same problem. HTC is down all the time I'm in the car.. I live in Oklahoma. Yes. It fun at a signal light to put HTC up or down. It really fun with kids looking at the car.
I have a C6 Z06 which I really like. For long trips it has a lot more storage space. The only thing that might get me to purchase a C8 would be if they added adaptive cruise control. My Tesla has it and I really like it.
I had the 2021 coup for 2 years, a 2lt z51 mag ride, and a front lift. I now have a 2023 HTC 2lt with all the mods of 2021 and more. This one is a keeper,it's all you said about the car 7500 is a little price to pay for the enjoyment ,for a push button hard top.the car rides beautifuly it has more power than most can handle. It's great to have your hair in the wind without having to get out of the car. I waited 28 months from the day I gave the deposit, and we'll worth the wait.
The HTC is the only way to go plus,My wife wanted the Convertible.Stern orders,No Coupe after she saw a HTC in Jerome Az and the guy put the top down.LOVE mine!
Got a Zeus bronze htc 3lt. It's so nice not picking up a top like I still have to do on my c7. No taking up rear trunk either!! It's worth it big time. Buy the mods4cars top up with keyfob! Awesome.
Clearly you are not an owner. The C8 HTC is worth every dime. And is true to the original C1 - which was a convertible. The $7500 difference in cost is a bargain.
I see HTC’s all the time and guess what the tops are up! I use my coupe as a convertible when I’m at the beach but that’s usually it. Way to hot other places. I think both cars are great but really like the look of the Coupe better! I Live in Sunny Ca as well. Don’t miss HTC at all. Even my E-Ray will be coupe!
I've had both types of tops on recent cars, Porsches mainly, and the ability to put the top down and stored easily means I put the top down much more often than any manual configuration. I'll be buying the convertible!
I will have both so i can switch up!!! My 3lt R will have the glass engine cover as well! Love my 2023 3lt coupe! Don't hear the wind noise that the guy complained about! Both C8, 0-60 in 2.8 seconds fast enough, with out paying over 200k$🇨🇦 if you can even get one!
Markup? I got mine a month ago for msrp. The one I got in rapid blue, convertible hard top and z51 package for msrp and there wasn’t even one like this in the entire state
I have an HTC and previously had a coupe. Biggest issue I’ve had with the HTC is the cord snapping and not allowing me to put the top up. First was the passenger side and not even a month later the diver side snapped. It’s a horrible design. Can’t believe there is no aftermarket solution
I own a 2022 Coupe. I’ve never bothered to take the top off. Regarding the HTC that’s just a lot of money. Saying all that I’ve never been in a convertible. So I really can’t make a responsible comment. Now to find a person who has one so I can take a ride. Cheers!
It’s just individual choice , I don’t think any option is useless, to me it gives a more exotic look and it’s an actual convertible and I am ok not seeing the engine . Even though You can take off the roof from coupe, it still does not feel like a convertible. Some want to see the engine and are happy with taking top off when needed . That does saves money. But it’s not the case for everyone.
The C8 coupe with the Z51 and the performance exhaust option sound in the cabin is non existent . As a matter of fact it’s a big disappointment in my book. It’s boring as hell on the street compared to the outgoing C7. The roof panel is a pain in the ass to remove. Plus you loose all that storage. How can one fix these shortcomings. Buy a convertible for Pete sakes. I’ve owned a 2020 C8 Z51 coupe. Now I own a 2023 convertible with the performance exhaust option. Saved my money and said the heck with the Z51 option and mag ride. Can’t tell the difference on the street and will never track the car. Saved money and said the hell with the 2LT also. I get the rear view camera in the 1LT convertible which I had to have. I adjust my side mirrors and all is fine. Save you money and buy a convertible without all the silly bells and whistles. Let the salesman snow job the crowd into buying all that fluff stuff. $15K thrown down the toilet which you won’t use or recoup when it’s time to sell.
Thank you so much for explaining your thought on this it's exactly the debate that I've been trying to decide I'm going with your suggestion and experience ☺️🙋
My personal opinion is that Chevy corporate should do what they said they would do and cut the allocations and or deliveries to any dealer that would gouge buyers. It's pathetic that dealers would use this car as a way to scam the buyer. I found a dealer in IL. ( Leach Wilson) that is willing to sell the car at MSRP. Aaron and the sales group there is just extremely helpful. The problem they're having is getting the allocation? So as usual you have the dealers that are gouging the buyer getting the allocations, and the dealers that are looking out for the buyer getting snubbed. Chevy stand by your word get the cars out to dealers that will work with the buyers. I understand that it is all about sales. The question is can't all the dealers that have buyers waiting get an allocation? I'm sure the sales of the car will be as strong and the people that have been waiting will be happy with Chevy. WOW what a great sales and corporate boost. The little guy who WANTS the car getting it.. Instead of the greedy self serving dealers getting the cars to the people that have the time and extra thousands to spend. Trust me I'm looking for a fully loaded Z07. I'm not looking for a baseline car, as I'm 65 and want to enjoy something I've waited my whole life for. C'MON CHEVY GET THE CAR OUT TO ALL THE DEALERS NOT JUST THE SELECT FEW EAST COAST AND OR GOUGING DEALERS. Get some allocations out to the smaller and mid range dealers as well.
I don’t think it’s worth 7k it plus wait for warranty the end and end up with a two to $3000-4000 bill to fix it! Plus I like to be able to see my engine. I love opening it up and cleaning the engine bay! Plus when I’m driving I like to look back and see the V8!
It a engine. I still own a 1972 Stingray. I'm not into car shows. Seating around all day is boring. I prefer autocrossing and road trips. Yes, I rebuilt my own car after 40 years I'm starting again. But paying someone else.
. You don't know what you're talking about at all haven't gotten my 3lt HTC 2022 November 21 and have 30,000 miles on it it is spectacular automobile😢😢😢
I have the HTC and absolutely no regrets…Go USA

Happy Holidays everyone!
Do you have any concerns about the motor overheating in the hot AZ sun since it's pretty tightly incased?
And you can drop the top while driving which is something you can't do with the coupe
The convertible is worth every penny, I own one and love it.
Can’t wait for mine to come in, still have several months. I believe it will be worth the wait
How much did you get it for sir??.. And from which dealership? Cn u pls tell me 🙏🙏🙏
@@vincew.6905 How long will you wait have been from order to delivery?
Got my 2nd one before Christmas and love the HTC
@@whatsupwithsteve I was just told “At least 15 months”. But I put my order in anyway.
haha troll title got me watching the whole video waiting for them to get to the point!
You are not alone..:)
I ordered the convertible and it’s 100% worth it!
I have 3LT convertible Stingray and it's totally worth the extra dough. 110% satisfaction. No point in spending that much money is you're not gonna be, at least, 100% satisfied.

The problem is when you take the removable roof off of the coupe the wind buffeting is terrible and not so in the convertible.
I had a porsche 911 s cab and it would get so hot you would have to open the doors to let it air out before you entered. That could be a problem depending on where I parked. I think the HTC is a home run. No screwing around with your top and no lost trunk or frunk space!! Wouldn't go any other way..
Gorgeous car, just is hard to get one and takes time to get one!

I had the glass roof in the C5, too much buffeting. After the first 2 weeks rarely removed it.
Click bait - title is totally misleading
I have a C6 Z06 which I really like. For long trips it has a lot more storage space. The only thing that might get me to purchase a C8 would be if they added adaptive cruise control. My Tesla has it and I really like it.

We love the versatility and looks of our 2023 HTC.

See my notes above, you will be really happy with it.
2023 AO HTC owner, only wanted the HTC it is the one for me!
Yup have my coupe and waiting for my 2024 convertible as well!!!
Zo6 have deep pockets!!200k in 🇨🇦 !!! Pre order too!
Ridiculous click bait headline.
I've had both types of tops on recent cars, Porsches mainly, and the ability to put the top down and stored easily means I put the top down much more often than any manual configuration. I'll be buying the convertible!
Looks better all on colour as well! They don't know it's a convertible!

Convertible is a must , totally worth it 😎
The roofline of the coupe looks much better than the convertible with the top up.
I bought one and love it, worth every $40,000 dealers markup.
From which car dealership did you get it from sir?
You got robbed im so sorry.
Yep I've never fallen for that markup. Sorry you got nailed.
Markup?
I got mine a month ago for msrp. The one I got in rapid blue, convertible hard top and z51 package for msrp and there wasn’t even one like this in the entire state
Imagine bragging about getting bent over for 40k by a dealer

Just easy to take top off at stop light with out stopping and taking top off!
Front reminds me of 1970 kit car!
Click bait.
Oh, it's worth it. Personally I'd rather have the coupe.
Click bait
I'd pick 1LT HTC over 3LT coupe.
I have a c 6 convertible , much more like a convertible ..the c8 convertible similar to the coup, not too much of a feeling the top is off
I’m sure the convertible is probably worth it but I think the coupe looks better
Just ask yourself, just how fast you want to go? And where can you drive it? The cops will love you!
I have the convertible and it’s by far the superior version. Don’t listen to this video
Haha you apparently didn't watch the whole video..:)
Thumbs down for click bait.
Cut it out !
The car is not worth buying without the convertible
😅😅
I don’t think it’s worth 7k it plus wait for warranty the end and end up with a two to $3000-4000 bill to fix it! Plus I like to be able to see my engine. I love opening it up and cleaning the engine bay! Plus when I’m driving I like to look back and see the V8!
I think you need to look into who designed the HTC. It wasn't GM. The the same who built Lamborghini and other HTC units. Therefore $7,500 bill.
It a engine. I still own a 1972 Stingray. I'm not into car shows. Seating around all day is boring. I prefer autocrossing and road trips. Yes, I rebuilt my own car after 40 years I'm starting again. But paying someone else.
You almost see the engine. Mainly plastic covers and plumbing parts.
I stopped watching due to the annoying voice.....geeesh...
What a useless waste of time to watch this video. stretching no new info this long must be a record in the junk videos
🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
The convertible just looks a lot better
