Honestly, I don't get how Juan does not have +100K subscribers. I have seen other youtubers with 100K subscribers and he is the best painter on RUclips by far!! Not even close. His tutorials are simply amazing and entertaining.
Thanks mate 😘
turned out great! Love the ole Carny! Great job!
Thanks
Excellent work on your Hugger-Squeezer!
Lol, thanks!
Ah great start to the week, watching Juan deliver an awesome paint job
Thanks mate
Does the face color scheme ever remind anyone else of Mr. Mime?
Love the video!
Lol, can't unsee
Apparently those "things" are spiracles, which insects use to draw oxygen in through their exoskeletons, since they have a less centralized circulatory system and no lungs. Basically vents straight into their circulatory system.
Cool!
Oh, also a wonderful paint job, of course. Love the level of detail, and how you manage to bring such different colours together.
@BlackHoleEye thanks mate
I love the retro colour scheme and I have the same miniature and I think that I will paint him in the same colour scheme as yours because he looks absolutely amazing.
DO IT!
Great job, once more, Juan. Congrats!
Gracias
I've seen a few people paint up new models in retro schemes and i have to say, its *really* growing on me. There's a charm to it, and your Screamer really brings out what a huge model can look like with a retro scheme.
Thanks mate
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures I got the LE box for the Sisters when it came out, and im still working up the courage to paint them. Havent painted 40k models in some 15 years, so your videos as well as the other painters are a real motivator to take up the brush again. Thanks for what you do for us modellers, it helps break the lack of motivation and fear!
Astonishing job!
Thanks
Beautiful work, looks fantastic!
Thanks!!
Looks great! More people should do their Nids in 2. edition paint jobs. I still feel they are striking, and with everyone going grimdark, a nice contrast.
Hard agree
20:26 : that was exhausting. I understand , I was just looking at you making the video... imagine doing it yourself. But godamn, man. It was worth it.
If not your best paintjob, probably at least in top 3. You managed to succeed doing your style while doing another one (80's).
Thanks mate
THAT BASE
The best base
Looks great!
Thanks
JH contrast series fills the void in my life of satisfying hobby videos left after Mr D. left GW. You're doing the Emperors work!
Thanks mate 😘
Oh my god, this is exactly how I planned to do mine! And now I have a guide! Legendary
Happy to help
Thanks Juan!
😘
Brilliant!!
Thanks
While assembling this model I came to like this model way more than I thought it would! There are so many neat details and design decisions! The big smooth top of the head is a plastic sub-piece that is placed "sideways" on the sprue so that the mold line doesn't go across the top, so it's just super smooth. Each of the arms have one or two bumps at the inner joint bit, and I like to this this is to help assembly with two bump arms going on top, one bump arm going on t he bottom. Underneath the back of the top armor shell, it has this really neat ridges that remind me of a crab shell or actually the underside of a mushroom. I do think that the seam lines on this model are quite well hidden as well. It's a really impressive crab-like model in person!
Yeah, the new models are a true feat of engineering
This is fantastic, I agree about retro paint schemes they seem to make new minis so much cooler
Like the restart button was hit except now the minis are better.
Exactly
i feel like a morbius fan whenever these new Tyranids get an old school paint job, its a 2nd Edition SWEEP!!! Seriously though I love them, great work!
Thanks
As the Hive Queen herself I am excited for this video I am about to watch ☺️
YEAH
thats great that you redid the old school paint job. I know everyone hates that model but it was one of my favorites in 2nd gen surprisingly. looking forward to replicating your process.
Thanks mate
It's my favourite too! Absolutely incredible model!
Haha, awesome. Thank you for going through that amount of pain for us!
Happy to help
Very informative and a pleasure to watch.
Thanks, greatly appreciated
This paintjob made me irrationally happy! Brings back memories of my first minis so long ago.
Retro FTW
This looks soo good. Proper og colour scheme, major nostalgia for me! Reminds me when I first got into the hobby so many years ago, thanks for the video! ❤
Thanks for watching
Juan , another amazing video! Thank you!
Thanks for watching
Hey Juan, when you quickly feather out on the scales - do you clean your brush with water and a paper tower? Of simply wipe off the contrast paint on a paper towel? Thanks!
Water and my mouth but feel free to use less disgusting methods
Haha ah that must be the fastest method 😂
Such a cool concept and masterful execution!
Thanks
Brilliant. Only right colour scheme for it
Thanks
Ahí va comentario en castellano! 😅 Impresionante tu meticulosidad! En este trabajo y en el otro. AWESOME!!
Gracias guapo 😘
And Juan the artist is back....FINALLY 😂😂😂 FANTASTIC JOB ....By the way l started my Deathwatch diorama...
Thanks mate, keep it up!
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures l will 😁😁😁
One of the things I love about Juan is the fact that he gives tips like "this isn't that important", because a big issue for when I was a new painter was that EVERYTHING WAS IMPORTANT and it just overloaded me.
So thanks for pointing this out dude! :)
Happy to help! I always try to make things as approachable as possible
Absolutely amazing to see that retro carnifex colors brought back! Perhaps you can do the von Ryan's Leapers 'boss' in the old Lictor colors as well? Cheers!
Sorry but I don't have it planned and I need to keep making videos about other things
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures No worries. Good luck. I am looking forward to the next video's.
Wow! I feel ready to paint that screemer killer wow. Thank you
Happy to help
I know exctly what is that hip flask! Its thinned down contrast paint straight from your water mug, so that you can have the taste of painting everywhere you go, is it?
It's true
Juan, you’re a champion
I KNOW
Glorious indeed mate
Thanks
Gracias por el video Juan, simplemente increible.....
Gracias guapo
Nice video jefe! I think contrast works great for tyranids, but I feel with bigger models it gets more complicated because of the bigger surfaces. You make it look so easy 😂
You are totally right, highlights also help a lot hiding the inconsistencies
Lovey stuff Juan! Great video as usual
Thanks
This is spectacular Juan, just like the SK of old. I keep seeing vids of folks painting the new SK and they all make me want to buy it...then I notice how large it is...and how much time it would take to paint...and I don't buy it :D
I can't blame you
Choose to watch over cesta punta, get crackin Meastro
Thanks mate 😘
Awesome video awesome tutorial as usual !! thanks a lot for those production juan !! :)
Thanks mate 😘
Periodic humble request for any info/update you can share about vallejo xpress color 2nd batch. Thanks!
There's nothing more I can say that I haven't already said sorry
Hilarious!
Thanks
Love it
Thanks mate
Awesome job, as usual! May I ask why you didn’t use a Zenithal highlighting? Really curious.
Because I never do in the Eavy Contrast series. Only for the Cursed City ones.
It's just to maintain a baseline across the series
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures oh ok. But do you think it would make sense in general? Or don’t you like Zenithal highlighting? Curious about your opinion.
I use it from time to time, especially on busts as a guide for my initial sketch. It's a good way of priming for sure and works very well with Contrast
Emerah of Contrasts Juan. When will you paint a Sailor Moon Battle Sister?
Mmmm, probably never BUT a Sailor Moon Space Marine?!!!! I think that sounds awesome
Great video, awesome job! Maybe we can see the new farsight soon?
It should have happened way before ñ, when he was originally released BUT the package from GW got lost in transit and it never happened.
Right now I don't know if I actually want to buy and paint him. That being said if you want a Eavy Metal guide on his scheme you can actually watch my How to Paint - Farsight Enclaves video.
Juan, do you have any idea how long it took you to paint the Screamer-Killer?
Way too long
Not the worst thing to see after sitting down to a heap of catching up to 😉 If there's anything left in the flask, pass it over. I've a be'lakor to do 🤔
Hope you're doing well mate! 🙂
Thanks mate, and sorry it's all for me
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures 😂Fair
Absolutamente increible. Gran trabajo maestro!
Gracias guapo
Always wonder - do u have some way to decide wich color to use and when to use to achieve desireble result ?
At this point experience, I've painted so much (specially with Contrast) that I just know which colour to use to get where I want to get.
That being said some times I have to test stuff and also sometimes I just get it wrong and have to repaint a part, for example here I tried a mix for the scales on his forehead and had to clean it off very quickly before it dried
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures Thx for an answear 🙂
@ivant208 happy to help
Naughty Juan, hive fleet typhon #1
😘
I still don't know what's in that flask, but I'd need at least a 16 year Lagavulin single malt before tackling that paint scheme. Looks fantastic!
Lol, spoiler alert, it's both older AND stronger
Could you pls provide Vallejo Xpress analogue for this painting?
Not until the expansion comes, sorry
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures I can wait. It isn't an issue.
This was pure candy for my eyes 🤩😊
Thanks
JH, you’re nuts, keep it up buddy!
Thanks mate
¡queremos un hijo tuyo!
Pues los vendo al peso
Just for my own information : why doesn’t anyone say Carnifex anymore?
Carnifex is a different unit now, I think this is now a special kind of Carnifex but I could be wrong
Another banger paintjob 👏
Thanks Heather

VIEWS FOR THE VIEWS GOD
Si tengo que pintar las venas asi serían como macarrones, como cuando se enfada mi mujer
Jajajaja gracias guapo. Por cierto no se te ve el pelo, en los dos sentidos 😘
why don't you slap chop your miniatures?
I actually do for my Imperial Guard army, I have a video about it.
But the answer in this case is, because I don't want to
Sadly I find this model ugly. The pose, proportions and pose does not feel right. Weakest model in new range.
I guess it's a matter of taste, I like it. Would like it more if it was about half the size though
slick bro
Thanks
