I'm conflicted about this because the optimist in me is so happy and proud of this girl being so confident and tenacious about her dream of acting but realistically in south korea i can't see anyone wanting to cast her because of the strict standard they have for appearance, even the most amazing actor won't get cast if they don't have the "right looks" and that really needs to change if they want to make better quality content
i’ve actually seen a couple of black people being casted for roles for kdramas, so if she keeps her head high she can probably get some good supporting roles
@@hercoeur i don't watch a ton of kdrama except the most popular ones lol but ik Chris Lyon in Itaewon Class was a big deal since he was actually an important and complex character, you definitely have to be fluent in Korean which she is which is a big advantage so here's hoping :)

If she was good at both she might have had a shot… Itaewon class was really a one of a kind show, that put forward the stereotype of « foreigners speak English » in Korea, so I wouldn’t put it as a standard for the industry
When she was on stage I started to tear a little bit because she’s a young person going after her dream and has more courage than those who never went after theirs and only judge others. Some of these comments are unnecessarily negative, she knows she looks different from the Korean beauty standard, she can make it. It’s Korean people and their mindset that need to change not her. She can’t help that her life is in Korea but this is a place to start it’s not her final destination for the entertainment industry. I hope she never lets negative people break her spirit and continues to practice/study to improve her skills. I also suggest writing your own characters and scripts and just film yourself/upload on RUclips or and just have fun. Blessing may enjoy more than acting.. you might evening like doing camera work, producing… there’s many avenues. Explore!

His mom's village is about 2 hours away from his sister in Togo. They both speak ewe. They ended up moving from both of their hometowns in ghana and moved to now togo.

I know how hard it is to be an actor (especially in Korea if you aren't ethnically Korean!) but she seems so determined and a good actor from what little I saw, I genuinely hope she can succeed and get some roles even if they end up being smaller or supporting roles.

I feel extremely bad for this young girl because very soon she will have to come to the realization that her dream to be an actor in Korea is nothing but a fantasy first cuz of her appearance then because realistically speaking even finding a normal job as a black person there is hard. Also if you type black actors in Korea not even a list would pop up only one name would come out also she is better of as a model than an actor or even better their whole family need to come to America or Europe overall if she wants a well set future she need to be where she will get more opportunities as she will grow up more struggles she will face there.

Damn, this made me emotional because I lived in Korea for five years as a black American woman. I remember being so impressed by the African immigrants ability to understand Korean culture, learn the language, open businesses. What saddens me is discrimination and racism they got but they still honor Koreans. These Africans did everything they possibly could to just have a better life. It’s funny because in today’s woke world, they’ll have you believe everyone is racist because you don’t get to see things like this to actually open up your mind to understand people are people regardless of their aesthetics. We are all Homo sapiens, and have the same drivers to survive, so the family-oriented Africans who moved to Korea can culturally relate to Koreans who are family oriented and traditional as well. Makes you think that all of this isn’t really about race and something more sinister. I really hope this family gets all the blessings in the world from God because I think they are good-spirited people. The little boy is exactly like Korean boys: he’s spoiled, funny, cute, probably really smart just hasn’t found his niche. Please make more docs of this family, they are great!

The general Korean reality show format seems to be like that. I don’t think they intentionally do it for non-Koreans. My guess is the show is meant for genuine intent to increase awareness among the general public about the different non-Korean groups/individuals living in Korea. Korea has less foreign origin people living there compared to countries like the US and still acknowledge their shortcomings and give a show to enable understanding among natives and foreign origin people. Efforts to improve and better should be respected. P.S I am not Korean

Most Africans are clueless about Asia as well.
