I wash warm and dry max heat. This one doesn’t have a leather logo that can melt like some other Carhartt coats

I personally say go Large. I got the large tall for the extra waists and arm length. My waist is also 36

I only know the wrong way lol. I wash it hot, and dry hot when most never wash them, and if they do they air dry it.

@davarouzfaruqziaulhaq5491 yeah I use washing powder to clean it. I like the results. 5% to 8% shrinkage and a slight fade after a few washes.

The ones I wax I only wash once a year.

I have the J97 L but at 6' and 180 think its a tad tooo short. However, I'd not want 2" longer sleeves. Also, the J97 is stiff!!

Also, I think the earlier versions were better looking. However I have not seen nor tried on the new one and it does look good on Mr B.

@linksrat once you wash and dry it a few times it shrinks by and inch or so anyway because it wrinkles up. Half inch to inch, somewhere in that range.

How do you find this version fits compared to the bartlet?

It’s a thinner fit because the Detroit is a blanket lined jacket and the Bartlett is Sherpa. The Bartlett is warmer. Really comes down to the lining.

I always throw mine in the dryer, I don’t mind it fading.
