3:34 "specs are between 0.2 and 0.8mm" -> "0.2 and that fits in the gap" 0.2mm obviously fits in the gap since it looks the gap to be more to the upper side of interval. -> "we check 0.8 .... and the gap is more than 0.8 so that ring is fine" I don't think you got it right here mate? I think that when you can stick in gauge thicker than 0.8mm that ring is out of spec? Meaning the gap is too big or the ring circumference too small. I'm not hating, just thinking out loud :) I really like these series btw, thanks for making them. 👍
@@2wheelworkshop I mean you just had to unscrew it. I had that problem but when trying to get barrels off... casing was catching on the banjo and it took me 5 minutes to realise :D
these videos are a life saver, cheers m8. whats the part you install at 24:45?
I’m rebuilding my XS650 engine right now and your videos are incredibly helpful. Thx so much from Canada, awesome work.

Great but maybe you can use a plastic or wooden tool to press the piston rings inside the cylinders...
Good point
installing the big bore kit (80mm) i dont see any bevel or step on the rings?
Great video, but why not push in the piston rings in the cylinder before fixing the pistons to the crank.. much easier,
I'll give that a go next time. I was worried I would drop the gudgeon pin clip into the engine, doing it that way.
@@2wheelworkshop sure, just cover the crank with some rag 😉
Hey mate how come you’re using rubber back washers on the rocker cover studs? Just curious as my parts manual says just plain washers. TA
They are the original ones. Just me being cheap.
Hi Brodie, i don't remember that i use a riveted chain link those days (1982 something). Perhaps is was a link with a c-clip ?
suggestion for rocker cover selent?
Yamabond is the most commonly used.
@@2wheelworkshop ah brilliant will have to look at getting some, finally getting round to lapping the balves haha
Your barrels would go on smoothly but they were catching on the oil pipe banjo.
I know, but I didn't have one and we were in lockdown at the time so I just worked with what I had.

Sorry I answered while I was half asleep. I will remember that next time.
