    the older i get the more i agree with the lady's viewpoint that simpler rules and artwork the more i like the game ... years ago , i preferred heavier games with a lot of chrome, now i want something i can play fast and easy to teach/learn

    Came for the exotic consumerism a few months ago, stayed for the relaxed mood, stream-of-consciousness delivery and and empathetic insights. Keep being you this year Eric, it suits you well.

    Hi, Interesting video with a lot of games I have never heard of (mostly japanese titles). I know you have probably already heard about this, because it's really popular, but Flamecraft would probably be a good match for at least tsuma. Simple rules overhead since you are practically only deciding on "where to go" and "Which of the two actions to take" in your turn and rest of the complexity comes from sequencing and fancy dragon cards :). It also fills the "visual appeal" box at least for most people.

      Thank you for the suggestion! Actually we hadn't been suggested that one before, and even if we had, we appreciate you taking the time to rec it! I'll tell Tsumachan about it and see what she thinks :)

    Really enjoyed this, Eric and Tsumachan! Thank you! It was heartwarming to see how much more relaxed and animated Tsumachan became as the video progressed. Really looking forward to seeing her on future videos! To Eric, I must admit I was a little surprised at the number of heavier weight games that were on your list, given how many great videos you did on trick taking games on your channel. I had just assumed that was your specialty! Last, I have to thank you for introducing our family to Ito. It is all that you claimed it to be! Just wish it was more accessible here in the States so that I don't have to keep using my deck of 6 Nimmt! or Ohanami.

      So glad that you're enjoying Ito! Hopefully we can find even more stuff to show you for you to enjoy this year! Happy New Year!

    Great to see you both on camera and I like the diversity of the list. And I’m with you on Deception: Murder in HK…I can still remember individual games from years ago because they were so good. That says something about a game and a group of people. And remember, you may find the murderer but you must find the murder weapon and the evidence to win……and that can be tough. Thanks guys!

    • @TheBoardGameDojo
      @TheBoardGameDojo  8 месяцев назад +1

      Absolutely! Oh yeah, we have definitely had games where the murderer is figured out but the evidence & murder weapons aren't. Always a tense situation!

    We truly enjoyed your video. Tsumachan has a wonderful personality. Hopefully she will be in front of the camera more often. When it comes to watching boardgaming channels, my wife and I tend to gravitate towards couples channels. We like seeing couples likes or dislikes. Oh, and your conversation about heavy vs lighter games was quite refreshing. I consider myself a mid-heavy gamer. However, I enjoy light party games as well. It is all about having a good time with your family and friends. Once again, thank you for what you do for the hobby and we hope you two have a wonderful 2024! 🙂

    Really appreciate both of your perspectives on games!
    I’ve added Ito to my wishlist and have looked at a couple threads on bgg to see how people are DIY’ing the game since it’s not easy to find everywhere.
    Yokohama is on my shelf of shame. I backed the last kickstarter. Really need to get it to the table.
    I’m quite curious about Black and White. That’s another one that looks fun but is hard to get a hold of here in the States. I see one copy on bgg. Might give it a shot :)
    What does Tsumachan think about the Wyrmspan announcement? Dragons definitely aren’t as cute as the shims enaga :)
    Happy new year!

It's such an interesting discussion because worker placement and worker movement (which includes point-to-point movement) has many of the same characteristics and similar mechanical functions.
