I read a book years ago that credited CHANNING with being the first-ever television series to address the topic of homosexuality (presumably in another episode than this one).
Hard to believe...this ONE YEAR WONDER actually replaced the Hit Series, “Naked City”, on Wednesday nights at 10pm on ABC....apparently, the network execs felt production costs for “Naked City” were too high, seeing that it was filmed On Location throughout New York City....also, advertisers were looking for a younger audience....still, kind of like watching Frances Reid (Days of Our Lives) and Mark Goddard (Lost In Space) on this particular episode...
Nice to see Frances Reid in the part of the mother. She played the same type of role in an episode of Mr. Novak around the same time

"The Last Testament of Buddy Crown" (12/18/1963), which begins with the suicide of a college student suspected of being gay.
What a find I never thought I would see this one early role for Keir dullea who is always very good at playing odd and affected characters
