Generally the sound is spot on. I've always thought that the true magic of this song is in the lyrics and the energy they produce. In that regard I'd say that Golden Earring's Eight Miles High is untouchable, the best cover I've ever heard. Everything gets as homogenized and deadened as Eagles' music if you're not describing in vocals the sense of wonderment of those London cityscapes. By no means easy to achieve with a bevy of Rickenbackers, which can easily create hypnotic effect, otherwise, very well presented here, gentlemen.
Maybe you have not heard the Byrd's version, the ORIGINAL roger mcguinn and bandmates byrds singing and playing their instruments. That was the BEST VERSION. This is a good imitation . Try listening ti original and see diffetence in voice harmony and that 12 string ricknbacker
The most impressive thing about this cover of a classic Byrds song is the vocal harmonies. When the three guys started singing, I thought for a few seconds that it might be synced with the original Byrds recording. And having three guys playing Rickenbacker guitars is kind of awesome.
Thank you SurfWriter. Mark, David and Ken are/were the best. Great guys that really cared to get the music right. BTW all four of the guitars up there are Rickenbackers. Take care.
Really good! The vocal harmonies are spot-on and stunning Much credit to your drummer for playing everything correctly including the syncopated bell on the ride cymbal. Excellent!
Thank you Rod. we were very fortunate to have Dave Denk as our drummer. You are truly a connoisseur of great music! Thanks for taking the time to let us know your thoughts.
Geneo credited Brian Jones in helping him write the song....for me this song is one of the greatest of all time....I will never grow tired of it. I really appreciate the fantastic rendition this particular group did of this song. The incredible body of work that the Byrds left us continues to fly high.
Wow, this is so damn good - and look at those awesome Rickenbackers too! Amazing harmonies guys; all perfect.. Thanks so much for this upload - you gentlemen nailed it beautifully. This 67 year old old-timer has a huge smile on his face. Wishing you all the best..
Best acid rock song ever written -25 years ahead of its time, and you guys killed it. It's not an easy number to get through, drums and vox in particular.
Wow. The vocals at the beginning are absolutely perfect. Sounds exactly like the Byrds. I'm 67 now and Eight Miles High has always been one of my favorite songs. Reminds me of never ending summer nights in Statesville NC listening to my small transistor radio. Thank you for posting this.
Very, very nice faithful version! Particularly on the Byrd's Fifth Dimension album version, there's a majesty to Roger McGuinn's 12-string lead, with the lush vocal harmonies, which you've all captured!
Thank you Rick. I'm glad the recording stills stands the test of time. It's been over 11 years since we last played the song. Take care and thanks for the nice comment.
Thank you Leland for the very nice and touching words. It was a labor of love for us. I think we caught lightning in a bottle recording that song. Take care and be well.
Outstanding reproduction. Drummer kept original tempo, not sped up or over amped up and not overplaying drum fills, harmonies 100% spot on (don't miss David Crosby one bit except the high harmonizing part) Only pick is to slightly dial in more on Roger Mcguinn's studio recording solo part...Robert at 68.
I wasn’t inferring anything by that. I’m 65 myself I was just pointing out that I figured you guys were of the age that you could do this song a good service which you did. Just cause we are getting up there doesn’t mean we have forgotten great music 😂 thanks for your response 👍
Early band demize by '68 as Crosby got the boot for group tension/control. Roger Mcguinn was the heart and soul of the Byrds. Crosby lasts a little longer with CS&N, and sometimes Y. Neil Young really rounds out CS&N but was a true talent on his own or with the band.
Bon Summers there were no effects used on the vocals at all except maybe a bit of reverb. Definitely no harmonizers what so ever. Thanks for the question. Take care.
As others have sad here, great job on the harmonies, and that's an achievement in itself. Little more attack on the guitars would be nice though. Hope there's more from you.
Thank you for taking the time to comment. We always listen when suggestions are made. Always trying to improve our 'game'. Thank you for listening. Stay tuned!

Wow! Absolutely breathtaking cover! Love to see all those Rics in action. Bravo! This is a very nostalgic number for me. Brings back memories of starting secondary school as an 11year old, back in '66, here in Leeds UK. Great times! Great cover guys! By the way, are you guys in the States?
If I learned anything from this, it's that there's no such thing as too many Rickenbachers in a band
That's 40 strings worth of Rickenbackers. Thanks for listening and the comment.
They are majestic! I had an ES-335 12. Also majestic.
THE TRUTH HAS BEEN SPOKEN!
These guys put those Rickenbackers to great use!
This is by far, the best version of this song that I have heard.
Thank you Neal. It's always nice to hear that your work is appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to let us know.

There is just something with this song that goes right into your soul. It has an almost religious quality, like a Gregorian chant
