- Celebrity pastor and author Joel Osteen said this religious “community is devastated” by the shooting at his Houston, Texas, megachurch, Lakewood. Authorities say a woman entered the church wearing a trench coat and carrying a rifle before opening fire. Off-duty law enforcement killed the shooter. A 5-year-old boy and a 57-year-old man are being treated for gunshot wounds. The child is in critical condition.
I wish that kid and the old man to recover well from that incident.
Man, I hope the 5 year old and the older man that got caught up with this recover.

@@CharlieApplesexactly 💯 agreed. They target practice where I live, every single Sunday after church. All I heard yesterday until after dark, was AR15s. I live in a farm community. And my small town is all white. It's terrifying. No where feels safe anymore.

The Spanish service wasn't going on yet either, he meant thankfully it was in-between services. He probably should have said "afternoon service" to avoid being misinterpreted, but I imagine he didn't get any sleep before this.

God only knows if he's fake. Of course we know them by their fruits, but as far as I know his wealth came from his book sales. Trust your own discernment, but only Jesus is flawless. If what a preacher says feels off, listen to your soul, but even a really wonderful person's speech should be checked with the Word and the Holy Spirit.
Remember, thoughts and prayers will always help stop these tragedies from happening. Not gun control, not background checks, none of that.

Everyone acts differently in traumatic situations. Smiling and excitement can be nervous, scared reactions, even more so when adrenaline is at high points. I'm not defending him because I think he gives genuine Christians a bad name. However, I have seen people lose loved ones, and the only thing that kept them from having a total breakdown is smiling and being cheerful, etc. They were in shock and denial.
Was he also "in shock and denial" when he locked hurricane victims out of his church? Was keeping people from getting their muddy footprints over his precious "church" just the adrenaline talking?
