If we went there, I would make a pig of myself. That hot chocolate sure looks thick. I have quite a weakness for hot chocolate but ours here sold for just 1 euro. Our AirBNB was full almost every day for 8 years but our breakfasts varied from € 1.75, up to € 6.95 for a full pizza with a salad and drinks included. Our large omelette breakfasts were just € 3.50, and included 4 toasts, with butter, jam etc and a large coffee. We worked hard. But we catered for backpackers, students and budget travellers. In Ireland we will have a huge rethink about our prices. Thanks for this excellent blog, Paul.

Great value at your place Anthony. Those who stayed with you were v grateful I'd say. A lot of times, I go for budget stays as well to keep costs down. Yeah this was a special treat, the hot chocolate was truly indulgent 😄

Nice! Paris with snow would be picture perfect! It was January and cold when we were there so having an indulgent warm hot chocolate in Angelina sure hit the spot for us 🙂 hope you enjoy the trip Efone and thanks for reaching out

Definitely overhyped. Croissant quality just not there. Eggs came out cold. Manager was very nice and apologized, but still. Hot Chocolate was VERY good. Tables too small, but that's who they are! Line to get in moves very quickly. I had pre-paid for the 'Petit Déjeuner Breakfast' at 33E, but it wasn't even on the menu. Instead they had the 'Angelina Breakfast' at the same price. I was thinking by ordering ahead of time that I wouldn't have to wait in line, but that wasn't the case. AND, they don't even give you a reservation time, so no advantage of ordering on their website. The Petit Déjeuner breakfast came with tiny Croissants which seemed to have been baked the day before, zero flakiness. Better try the 5 Star Cheval Blanc Paris Hotel at twice the price, but a WONDERFUL experience.
