To think Neil wanted to only write the songs for someone else to sing. We would have missed out on one of the great male singers of all time. What a soulful voice.
I remember someone saying once that Neil Diamond could pick up a phone book (remember those) and sing it and make it a hit. Boy was that individual right! When I want to Thank God for hearing my prayer and coming to save me from a seemingly impossible unsolvable situation this is how I sing His Praises. Holly Holy is so uplifting. I listen, sing along, throw my arms in the air and truly Thank God......
And GOD LOVES IT!! I sing Pretty Amazing Grace and Brother Love. Neil had a Salvation experience and loves to 'hide' Jesus in his lyrics. There's so much depth and truth to Mr. Diamond's music and the way he weaves the stories and has a moral. 'Morningside'
I know that it has been said many times before, but I want to say it now. Neil Diamond, you're a GREAT singer, and your Holly Holy is something that you would hear and feel as you moved through the infinite...it's beyond words. Thank you.

Elvis was fantastic .He wasnt a writer of his music ....
Neil is master of the three chord pop song. In such simplicity Neil can convey a meaningful narrative combined with great melody. We need more people like Neil.

You must see A BEAUTIFUL NOISE: THE NEIL DIAMOND MUSICAL on Broadway. He's been very involved in this touching musical about his life.
And take a younger person, who has NO IDEA!
Neil talks with such a soft and gentle voice, then goes into Holy Holy, with his powerful voice. Such a dynamic transformation.
How could people not like Neil Diamond. I’m 60 years old and he’s been my all time favorite since I was in junior high school. I hate he’s not able to tour any more. He’s awesome. Holly Holy is one of his best in my opinion.

This performance of Holly Holy by Neil sends chills up my spine. When he sings he puts all he has into his songs. Interview with him so good.

Yes absolutely amazing 🥰🥰
he always done, he always wants his audience to be empowered by Music, before he was even a pro singer
And what a pity if he would not have had with those pipes and the +100% he delivers
God surely smiled on this man.
I love how he doubles down on the guitar towards the end.
His voice mesmerizes me. He's so real and gifted. What a treasure he truly is.
So sorry for the infringe on your privacy. Beautiful song. How are you?
Watching Neil Diamond perform live looking through the trees at the Greek Theater the night Hot August Night was recorded will forever be etched in my mind and soul. A truly musically historical evening under the stars.
We didn’t have tickets but at the Greek Theater in Griffith Park the beautiful trees surrounding the theater created a chance for some youngsters climb just enough to see what became history. Thank you Neil for a lifetime of beautiful noise ..
We wore out that album. My sister-in-law and her hubby were there.
Probably THE best live album ever. And I'm a rocker.
My brother and sister in law were there that night too. I was fortunate to see Neil perform the same show a month later in San Francisco. It remains a highlight in my life as I also live with Parkinson Disease.
You were one of the tree people?
@@lawrencetaylor4101Forget about live, the best album ever.
- god bless neil for the feelings expressed in his music . Penny , my wife of 56 years passed away july 23, 18. I shed tears but also smiles of joy remembering the good times. I listen to holly holy every night and think of her

This song and all of humanity will be long gone in about 200 years. Humans are at fault for destroying the planet. We suck.

This song sets your heart free. I grew up listening to Neil Diamond.
I don't remember a time without Neil's music in my life. His music will always be a part of my life. I feel happy listening to his voice.
He and Gordon Lightfoot are my all time favorites. They've given me years of musical pleasure 🙏. So much thanks to them both ❤️.
Gordon Lightfoot mine, earlier days of Neil also
Would be great if they collaborate on a song. I agree. There getting to old now.
Glenn and Gordon or two geniuses who have always been on my list of greats
Wow! What a song! What a singer! That was magic. Hard to believe it was done 50(!!!) years ago - still so fresh.
Neil Diamond is a Master songwriter/composer... Love his music....
I had the pleasure of seeing him 3 times with my soulmate. She passed away 4 years ago. She absolutely loved him. So do I . He puts on one hell of a show
I love Neil Diamond! He’s an awesome songwriter and with his beautiful voice sings wonderful!
A True Singer Songwriter, Amen
I saw him in California during the making of Hot August night…album. My God this man is amazing. He even said hello to the tree people… the ones who climbed the trees outside the arena… a once in a lifetime ! Blessed beyond …. Love you Neil. Forever man….
Hey 👋 how are you doing today?
Yip.. I remember.. 'hello tree people...,.. Are you still there, tree people'? 😂❤
It's so difficult to give him a deserving comment. He is that good!
Neil was humble almost shy in conversations, but when he sang he changed into this intense charismatic being. I connected with him at a young age and his music and he was the light at the end of the tunnel on my many dark paths.
You R So Right !!!!!!!!!!!

Such passion and genuine feeling in Neil's voice. So amazing.
He's one of the rarest type...he grew INTO his voice and music. For such a young guy in this video, his musical creations have a very mature feeling.
Moving house l found one of his CDs while packing played it and forgotten how awesome he is....gives me goosebumps listening....its like discovering him all over again......fabulous...xx
our musical gift to the human race,if you ask me.....................................
Niel Diamond was always on the radio when I was a kid. Shilo was such a great song. They don't have songs like that anymore. I'm grateful for this man and his music. Much love and peace.
I grew up with Carole King Carly Simon Cat Stevens Gordon Lightfoot and absolute Neil Diamond fan and when I listen to him and this song it brings me back to my 7th grade year in junior high hanging out with my buddy just playing kickball at his dad's friend's yard and listening to this whole Neil Diamond album which was a masterpiece Neil Diamond is one of the true absolute outrageously best musicians and songwriter that I've ever seen in my life and he's in great company as I listed previously
Have you ever gotten stoned to any of these songs?
To think Neil wanted to only write the songs for someone else to sing. We would have missed out on one of the great male singers of all time. What a soulful voice.
I'm 77 just love to hear the greatest, many thanks Neil
Seen him live at Woburn Abbey open air concert, he was absolutely fantastic!
I'm now 80 years young still listening to his music!

To think this wasn't even on his playlist, and he goes and performs the very best version of it. Incredible!
Pure magic … he “gets it “his lyrics speak to me today 🎉
Hi Carol💐💐
He, indeed, is a rock, a staple of America. We have a great deal to thank him for.
Thank you for making this video. It's a great upload.
I remember someone saying once that Neil Diamond could pick up a phone book (remember those) and sing it and make it a hit. Boy was that individual right! This man was given a great gift from God above when it came to writing great songs. Thank you Neil for your great music and memories. I never get tired of listening to the music!! It's the best!!
Yep!!
Him and Jim Croce
Originally that was said about Richard Burton. Just speaking the way he did. Truth.

When I want to Thank God for hearing my prayer and coming to save me from a seemingly impossible unsolvable situation this is how I sing His Praises. Holly Holy is so uplifting. I listen, sing along, throw my arms in the air and truly Thank God......
I'm so happy for you , sending love
I bet Jesus listens to Neil Diamond.
