Brings back a lot of great memories for me, having grown up just a few miles from the station. Thanks for uploading this. Also, whoa. I did not know Gregory Alan Williams was from Iowa!
I grew up in South Dakota, and still live there. Watching these vintage Iowa PTV breaks, it makes me realize just how far behind South Dakota PTV was in terms of presentation and design at this same time. This is on par with national TV networks of the time, whereas SDPTV was much more primitive, using basic text generators and graphics. The Sioux City, IA area was the only place in Iowa where you can tune in both IPTV and SDPTV with an antenna. These days, the two PBS networks are more or less identical in terms of presentation quality.
During the early 1980s, Mike Lewis was the voice of Iowa's public television network; he would go on to work at many commercial television stations beginning in the early 1990s. As a result, his announcements on the network were curtailed to station idents, which would be retired in 2002 upon PBS launching its idents at the time. During the period between 1994 and 1999, there were three voices for the station, one of which was a female teenager during children's programs.
