Sony fanboy here since 1995. I really enjoyed your aspie clip because it was cinematic. In the original sense where cinematic is a visual narrative and the use of the visual language. Pointing your camera to a closeup of grass in the wind in slow motion is not "cinematic". There are many languages of cinema. And they are hard to master. 99,9999999% of all "cinematic" clips on youtube are completely void of any visual language.
I'm a Sony fan boy d-bag shooter. Got the full frame sirui 35 t2.9 and it looks "cinematic" straight out of camera. Good shiz! P. S. just now at the age of 40 I've figured I'm also the ADHD gang, and life is actually a little easier knowing the source of so many struggles through out life.

About the flares, in my opinion, I think the camera must be in the move to keep it cinematic. I just realize that the flare looks a bit off if the camera is static.
My wife just asked me why I was laughing out loud just now - "...and if you still dont understand that...that is unfortunate, maybe you should consider quit videography and ugh, do something else..." - Love your sense of humor man!

Hey man...that Len it traaa... that "squared-off" look made your head look like box. If you want to be "professional", if you want "cinematic", look at the new Sony Frame Markers in the A7C2 & A7CR with Transparency Adjustment that allow any Lens to film or photograph in 2.35 Ratio, & then cropped in any Editor, with or without annoying Flares... (Love your videos, thx).

"Cinematic" term is complete BS. It is only used as a marketing tool for manufacturers to sell more stuff. Cinematic in itself should mean "like cinema" or like "movies", which is again complete nonsense. Millions of films, from hollywood blockbusters to independent award winning movies to completely unknown films have million distincts looks and feels and textures. So "cinematic" doesnt apply to anything and doesnt mean anything and doesnt relate to any specific look. People should completely forget this term and stop getting brainwashed and influenced.

When you were guessing what makes the footage look cinematic, you forgot about the light. And this video also shows that you don't take that into account, you could have adjusted the light in your studio a little better.
