I really like how they tuned Miku in this cover, I decided to download both audios (the original version and the cover with Miku NT's parts) and I realized that they sound extremely similar! If you place one audio on your right ear and another on the left it will take you a little to notice the difference when combining in tune. The only thing that I do notice that is different is that in the original version Miku sings with a sarcastic tone? I don't know how to describe it but something like that, while in the cover version she sounds a little more fragile and innocent, which gives a gloomy contrast to the song.
Tuning Rating: 9/10. From the lower key, the more emotionless voices from the VAs, changing the first line to the sample at the end of the song, it's very clear that they are making N25 the spectators, not the protagonists. It sounds, to me at least, like they are commenting and mocking a passerby than being directly involved. And, I'll be honest, for this song specifically, I don't think that's a bad direction. Miku's sharp, robotic tuning fits very well for this specific direction, and considering the theme, I don't mind her getting more lines. Plus, it's Miku + N25, I feel like people should have known better. Of course, if you're one of the people expecting them to be more emotionally charged, than this cover would surely be a letdown. I understand, and my condolences, because the VAs definitely could have pulled it off. My guess is that they wanted to be safe, because having the characters expressed stronger emotions would look... Awkward? Trust me, as a avid listener of Tokyo Teddy Bear, even though L/N and Rin's cover have grown on me quite a bit, I still wish they let the VAs go all out. I don't have much stakes in this song so I don't mind this change at all personally, but I do understand why people are disappointed.

I wonder if too many people are used to covers of Mindbrand and it's why they hate the even calm tone of the singing? Because I just relistened to the OG out of curiosity (Since when i listen to it now most of the time are covers). And honestly this cover is pretty faithful to the feel of the OG. It feels half lamenting and half like watching a car wreck occur from afar. Meanwhile most cover get into the characters and inject the emotionality of the people the song is talking about. Which is not wrong or bad. Many covers like that are fan favorite of mine. But this more somber feel is more apt to the OG MIndbrand and to Maretu's style in general. And I like Miku's distorted tuning here. It adds to the atmosphere imo.
While Miku does do some heavy lifting in the line distribution (understandable, given the intensity of the theming in MARETU's works), the lines that _were_ assigned to the members were certainly done so with intent-especially the knen「駆け寄って寄り添って笑いあったあのときを」vs the mzmf「いっそきれいに、忘れてしまいたいんだ！」at the end, which rings very true to their respective overtones of "the seeker vs. the one who resists being known".

Ughhh I really hate this cover. It’s not terrible but I feel so much went wrong. I wish they directed the VAs to give a more powerful performance-I feel this song needed that but that’s my interpretation I understand enjoying the solemn vocals. But some parts they sound whispery and it just feels bland. 0:28, 0:41, and 1:36 were all awesome though. My honest opinion on this cover: It's quite.. bad but maybe pretty good. I don't really like Miku's tuning here, although pjsk always messes up the tuning anyway. I really like Kanade's airy, gives me goosebumps. The rest of the vocals are nice.. just Miku's tuning. I don't mind Miku getting a lot of lines, and most of the lines aren't about Nightcord anyways.. Also, expected the vocals to be like, loud but eh, this is fine. Now, for the MV.. It was ehh... Pretty boring yet nice, don't know how to word it.. I love before and during the chorus part in the MV, the lights going red and the movements.. was pretty satisfying to watch. I really like the background, the costumes in the MV was suitable. The part before the end of the MV was quite random, to me.. Not bad for MV, just eh.. As for the charting, The expert charting was SO BORING I ap'ed it without my ap team.. it feels like you're playing on hard, not expert. Why is it a lv.24 anyways? Deserve to be a 23 or 22.. The master charting did well, love the patterns, it managed to confuse me but, love it. It was pretty hard since I have skill issue with this one part.. Also, it's a 28 for master if you're wondering. The master charting was quite easier than hm, ah, ah. The only thing I really like about this cover is just the master charting, that's all. Also, expected the vocals to be like, loud but eh, this is fine. Now, for the MV.. It was ehh... Pretty boring yet nice, don't know how to word it.. I love before and during the chorus part in the MV, the lights going red and the movements.. was pretty satisfying to watch. I really like the background, the costumes in the MV was suitable. The part before the end of the MV was quite random, to me.. Not bad for MV, just eh.. As for the charting, The expert charting was SO BORING I ap'ed it without my ap team.. it feels like you're playing on hard, not expert. Why is it a lv.24 anyways? Deserve to be a 23 or 22.. The master charting did well, love the patterns, it managed to confuse me but, love it. It was pretty hard since I have skill issue with this one part.. Also, it's a 28 for master if you're wondering. The master charting was quite easier than hm, ah, ah. The only thing I really like about this cover is just the master charting, that's all. Over all, pretty disappointing but, great job.

I’m not really the biggest fan of this cover, I didn’t really like how they lowered the instrumentals, their voices are okay but they do sound a bit dead/emotionless in the chorus in a way? The high note at the end was really bland as well (not Miku’s high note), I don’t know if that’s what they were going for, if anything, I liked how Kanade sounded the most.
