- Kent from Oz shows you how to use a Filo Fax. This video is from the series The Australian Way.There are hints on how to organise your day, both personal and work organisation
Very refreshing to see another man's point of view. Using sticky notes and arrows since most of us girls believe that only us use them :)
A practical system and very well organized. And your binder looks so well kept with 5 years of use :)
thanks for your comment. The ruler is used for many things except as a ruler!
I really enjoyed watching how you order your life. There seems to be a place for everything but it's all easy to access. thanks for posting this and I hope you do more
Tracy
Enjoyed you video.
Haven't seen the pen holder in the USA yet. Appreciate seeing how you use your organizer as a working adult. Thanks!
The Debden one has the best inserts for price. In a perfect world I would use the Filofax A5 binder with Debden inserts but alas the holes do not match. Hence I went with the inferior Debden binder to hold the inserts I wanted. Cheers - Kent
Nicely organised, thanks for sharing! I like the stickies on the ruler tip!
You are welcome and thanks for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate all the feedback I get - Kent
Thanks for the comments Donna. Tis was my very first video so the iPad mini is not inside yet. I still use it frequently bu the beauty is that I can remove it and leave it at home if I knowI wont need it for the day. It makes the binder a little heavy and bulky but not too much. cheers Kent
Thanks for the comment Deb. I make mention of my use of the term FIlofax in one of my other videos on my channel: Filofax or Day Planner. I use the term Filofax out of habit since I used one for nearly 20 years before going to the Debden. I named this series Filofax Tips as it is more recognizable in RUclips searches. It is a bit like using the brand name Kleenex when referring to any type of tissue. My using the term Filofax in these videos has urked some Filofax users to whom I have apologized
I place my camera on a desk lamp attached by a thick rubber band and place it at my chest and focus down on my hands - so now you know. Thanks for the comment. Cheers - Kent.
Thanks for your kind words. I will be posting some shorter videos about a few different aspects of my planner and some helpful hints. As for the organizer itself - leather is the best if it is for high level usage. Keep watching and many thanks.
the planner needs to make my life easier. I don't want to search for something. It is a well-oiled machine for me. It really makes me have better days when I use it well. Thanks for your comment.
Very helpful! Ive made a page of notes! Like the receipts idea. Thanks for the interesting video, its really helped!
I got the Debden Day Planner from OfficeWorks for AUS $89. The leather one has nt worn very much at all and looks almost new after 5 years. I also use Debden and Franklin Covey inserts depending on the type I need. Everything else from KMart or online (usually eBay).
In response to a few requests, I will let you know the Planner cost me $89 Australian dollars. It is leather (not bonded) and is made by Debden. I prefer Debden as I like their layout for the printed daily planner sheets. They are also reasonably priced. I will say that some inserts do not fit the 7-ring binder, but sometimes I can put in the missing hole with my hole punch.
Please tell me where you purchased the Pen Board with the zip pocket on the back. I could use one of those. Thanks so much for the video. Very helpful!
I should post a few more by this weekend. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Will check the FB page. I can always use more tips and am happy to share my ideas.
How are you holding the camera?!
I'm a guy, thinking about getting a personal organiser, so I was just drawing in inspiration ;)
Great vid! :) Are you in the Philofaxy facebook group yet? Would be great to have your perspective as well. Thanks for sharing :D
Good one you mate.. I'm going to have to go out and get one now.
How much are they?
Very nice!
OMG I love your accent!!!!
Sorry Kent I may have misunderstood. Is a Debden a type of Filofax or another brand? I've been researching a dayplanners and had finally decided on the Filofax "Makeden Personal" but struggling to find them anywhere in Canada. I've been watching your videos so surprised when you mentioned Debden, but you still refer to your planner as a Filofax. Just a little confusing and would appreciate you clarifying. Thanks
Great videos. I like your organizing better than some of the women. They use too many stickers and colored highlighters. It just got too complicated for me. But where is your ipad mini? You got to the back of the organizer and I expected to see it and it was not there. Is this pre ipad mini?
what kind of binder are you using now?
Hi Kent, where did you get the pen holder? I have just purchased an A5 Fusion and would like to add this insert. Thanks
Did you buy the pen holder from office works? Cheers mate 👍
Surprised you weren't using your Filofax any more. Any particular reason why not?
Have a question: when people transition from a Personal size filofax to an A5 filofax, do they somehow move all the pages from the Personal planner to the A5 large planner? Or do they just start all over from the point that they are starting to use the A5? Need advice on this. Thanks.
If You have many many sheets of papers, You should:
1 - scan side A and B from Your personal size filofax,
2 - enlarge to A5 size,
3 - print on corresponding side A and B in A5 size.
I never do this, but if I need, I will do. This works in both directions - we can enlarge and reduce.
hi, where did you find this page with the recipes list?
Hi!
Thanks for the video! I am just wondering if you always have this planner with you, or do you carry it to work and simply have it on your desk?
Louis Chen I do both. this size is a little large to take everywhere. if you look at my latest videos you will see I have gone to a smaller size which I take EVERYWHERE! Kfroz
Kent from Oz Oh thanks! I started with Filofax personal size, but found the rings too annoying and paper too small. Then I went for the A5, good paper size, but I don't think I've ever taken it outside my home. Maybe I'll try to live with a Filofax pocket. Tried Moleskine pocket notebooks in my Filofax Flex slim and pocket, but it's not a good fit, the covers are too small. Anyway good work and keep 'em videos coming! :)
>>>Yea until its broken, battery dies, gets stolen, crashes or go missing. It always nice to have a paper base backup for emergencies as technology is not always reliable kid.
"That's what backups are for." Reliable, automatic backups are the best things ever.
If anything happens to my electronics, ~none of my data is lost.
DixxyMoras - you can find me hanging out on FB at Filofax for Philofaxy Fans page. I'm the one with a coffee in one hand!
Hi, did you make these particular dividers?
No I did not, thank you for your interest.
Argh. Hate that auto spellcheck....it should have read "Malden" Personal.
Ah. I thought maybe you had a third arm..
