Thanks for the clear instructions my friend change the battery, but is still having problems and was told she might need to replace the entire key which is $300. Is there anyway to test this belief? 2:13

These fobs have a removable key inside; just slide the small plastic tab on the top to the left, just below the ring. That key will unlock your door, but it'll also set the alarm off, so you'll have to put the key into the ignition so stop it.

You could have just taken the key out and used that to open the case...i did it on the fly when my remote was acting up and changed the battery😁
