I was scared of doctor who but I'm not now. Honestly what would make it better in my opinion is putting k-9 back in. He was an amazing companion and it would be an adorable addition to the show.
Battlefield is one of my favourite. Better than all of the Chris Chibnall/Jodie Whittaker era. Battlefield was one of the first episodes of DW I ever watched and led me to becoming a long-time fan and I got to meet Sylvester McCoy in 2013. Battlefield had a unique idea - Arthurian knights from a alternate dimension which they have futuristic blaster guns and grenades. It was good to see Nicholas Courtney again once more as The Brigadier. Sylvester McCoy without a doubt gave one of his finest performances as The 7th Doctor. The Doctor getting mistook for Merlin only to discover he *is* Merlin is brilliant. It would had been good if the concept of Arthurian knights from another dimension was explored further in the new series and it would had been the perfect story for The 12th Doctor. How The Doctor entered that dimension, became Merlin and warning The 7th Doctor about Morgaine. This is Doctor Who at it's very best.
dchegu that’s probably because the show wasn’t as popular and was given a smaller budget. They’d also switched from having two different styles of filming for location and studio scenes to just using the same visual style for both
These clips are a great reminder of why Dr who was soon canceled. Modern-era folks whine about SJW blah blah blah whilst ignoring the superior viewing experience compared with 'classic' who
Very few modern-era episodes (if any)can be described as unwatchably bad. Unfortunately some episodes in the 'classic ' series particularly the JNT era were unwatchably bad
@@az-wr1lb I can think of quite a few unwatchable modern who episodes. Orphan 55, love and monsters, the tsuranga conundrum, the battle if ranskoor av kolos, the Lazarus experiment, I could go on. Part of the beauty of classic who is it can usually pull off good stories, unlike chibnall era who.
@@murrayjones694 that's your subconscious bigotry shining through. None of these episodes are unwatchable, particular were scenes probably badly conceived (eg the benni-obsession) but the overall episodes were reasonably stable and watchable
@@az-wr1lb Well, that escalated quickly! "Subconscious bigotry"! Or just a different opinion to yours? Sure, this was worse than what we currently have, but it was mainly due to budgetary reasons, and the fact the BBC had given up on the show. The current show has plenty of cash thrown at it, the BBC believes in it, and yet it is almost as bad. Current DW should be a lot better than it is. "Very few modern-era episodes can be described as unwatchable", you say. Well, I do happen to think the current season is only just barely watchable, which isn't much better than unwatchable. Sylvester McCoy was miscast, as was Jodie Whittaker. They should have stuck with Colin Baker back then (or actually just cancelled the show), and in current times they should have cast Jo Martin, the actress who played the missing Ruth Doctor. She was better than Whittaker in just one episode. Stories would still have been atrocious, mind you. So maybe they should have just cancelled it this time too.

It had a very strong female baddie, a new black female brigadier who definitely wears the trousers as she flirts with a guy she’s fighting alongside, the old brigadier is painted as being a bit too old fashioned in his attitudes to women including his own wife, there’s a subtle gay subtext between two of the male leads, one of the Russian soldiers defeats the haemovores via his faith in communism, and the lead scientist is in a wheel chair. Yeah, not PC at all.

THERE. WILL. BE. NO. BATTLE. HERE!!!!
Jesus. McCoy has so much Power in His Voice.
That was awesome acting by McCoy.
That owner Sylvester
It saved Sophie during the water tank accident.

1:23 "THERE-WILL-BE-NO-BATTLE HERE!!!" Awesome acting by Sylvester McCoy.
@Donisiel most people watching this channel know him. Also he’s been in some mainstream movies
The new power rangers looks good.
Doctor Who: The Ultimate British Tokusatsu.
That would be great spinoff Doctor Rangers
2:27 Man! The background music when The Destroyer appears is epic and truly dark and scary. It indicts that Ace and Shou-Yung are in great danger.
I must say that the rubber creature effects on the Destroyer do look actually quite good, given the time and budget of late 1980s Dr. Who.
Why thank you very much. My then partner and I made it. :)
"STOP! I COMMAND IT! THERE WILL BE NO BATTLE HERE!!!" :D
A bit late for that, Doctor.
BBC: We are limited by the technology of our time.
It looks good.
Yay, Classic Who clips!
I love trying to explain this episode to nuwhovians... they think I'm on acid.
Question.
Torchwood season 4, The family said something about a Plan B. what was it? cos I am down if they bought it t Doctor Who series 13 along with Jack
Answer. Torchwood Miracle Day didn’t happen. It’s not Canon. Torchwood finished at Children Of Earth.
Chaos Is Coming don’t you mean season 12
it wraps up in "the torchwood archive"
Listen to Big Finish - the Family were part of something huge
Because Jack is back.
The background music reminds me of early CD games. It hasn't aged well.
We need more action and battle scenes! Cybermen and Dalek episodes do this a lot but other episodes are generally lackluster
The Destroyer: probably the most metal-looking monster in Who history.
That cliffhanger scared the bejesus outta me aged nine. Alas, I’m not sure the Destroyer make up holds up.
So is this where the writers of Star Trek Picard got the idea for "The Destroyer" from?
Gotta give UNIT props they always fight hard and to the end
2:27 A touch of the blues.
Ivan Ooze be like:
My god I. Want my PBS (US public broadcasting) to do a marathon again...
DUUUDE!!!! That was Bavmorda!!!!
That blue alien looks better than the stuff we have now
I effects look so ahead of it's Time
Of course, the American version of the collection isn't as fancy.

Why have they been releasing all this clips from Battlefield???
Advertising the season 26 box set release. _Battlefield_ is the first story of that season. Presumably we'll see the others later.

Yeah but it looks great. I wish I knew the Doctor so he could take me to this Sunday right now
