this is a big WHATUPWHATUP :D new to this channel, love the way you approach teaching I need to try this, i already used rokoko video to capture movements from videogame and dance tutorial videos.
Yea I mean you could just use 1 phone or tablet + webcam but my webcam is only 720p so I opted to figure out 2 devices to get higher resolution. I'm going to keep experimentnig on my end to see if I can streamline it more too.
Believe me when I first got into this stuff like 17 years ago the barrier of entry was soooo high not a lot of people that wanted to be in could afford to
a few tips, if you want good quality long usb cables, get the ones that are used for tethering professional cameras for studio shoots, Tether Tools is the brand and you can go up to 15'. Also since it looks like you need just 2 video inputs you can probably do this with mirrorless cameras and a 2 or 4 input capture card. Your setup works but it is a bit jank, and the price of the phone and tablet you can easily pickup 2 cameras with lenses second hand and a capture card. cameras with SDI outputs will allow you to run longer cables if you want to have your PC in a different room from where you are capturing the motion.

Thanks man, yea I used to be more involved in VR back in the day like around 2016-2019 but haven't been doing it as much these days. I still have a bunch of the headsets but been really waiting to see what Valve does with an Oculus mobile competitor because I'm not really digging the Oculus closed ecosystem.
Is this yearly subscription? I signed up monthly with 1 cam solution and then got an email saying its gonna be annual subscription? Bit confusing on there part??
@@JonathanWinbush i think its free for trail? But again not too sure? Is risky commiting to annual sub, you never know whats around the corner. The movement looks much better than 1 cam. Great stuff :)

I don't understand why yours turns out so good and mine doesn't. I've got two webcams on tripods in good positions, good lighting, and I even got a green screen for a good contrast background. Calibration is also good I believe. I still get this jitteriness in the movements that looks unnatural and it doesn't capture all my head turns for some reason. It's better but it doesn't look as good as yours and I don't know why.
@@JonathanWinbush I think it has something to do with my lighting it's the only thing I can think of. Natural light in my house tends to create bright highlights around me which I think is screwing with the motion tracking. Using flood lights and my living room lights helped a little bit at night because I'm able to control the lighting more. It's still not perfect though.
Hey, man, what do you use for finger motion capture? I don't want to buy the finger mocap, so markerless finger solution do you recommend? Leap perhaps? Also, have you heard of cyanpuppets? It is a two cam solution as well. And have you heard about Freemocap? It looks like a hard solution to get started, but you can do more than two cams--I think at least 4.
My clips don't show up in studio. Any idea why? They worked the first time I opened it but the clips would not update so I deleted the project to see if it would recreate it and it wont.
do I need the actual gloves and suit to pick up hand and finger motion? i did a test animation and it moved the hands as a whole but not the individual fingers.

Hey Brother, I recently purchased the Rokoko suit Pro 2 with face capture, Coil Pro and all, but for the life of me can't find anything online to help me record the dialog while recording myself in the suit! Can you offer any advice?

@@JonathanWinbush In all low-budget mocap programs the feet won't stay where they are supposed to when a person usually stand up, like XSens or Vicon do, instead, they bug in all directions, so i was trying to use this mocap tecnique for MikuMikuDance so when i finish to do mocap i can finally put my mocaps to Crypton characters, i'm just asking 🤔🤔😯😯

I personally just still use the suit with gloves. The best non suit solution I've seen that does fingers would be Move.Ai

Can you compare Rokoko Vision and Cascadeur (with the recent update to Video2Mocap)?
Is Cascadeur free? I keep hearing about it but havent had a chance to look at it yet

Camo never shows up for me in Rokoko Vision, i’ve given the app permission to use my webcam but it still doesn’t show up.
