    As a foreigner living in South Africa for 15 years. I can attest that south Africans are by far the most welcoming Africans on this continent. Full of culture, very loyal as friends. They just ask for simple things. Respect their country and the law. That's is not too much to ask. Everyone expects that in their country.

    • @yohighness
      @yohighness Год назад

      @@TataT10 Why do you want to make it a competition of who has traveled to more countries? You can make any claim you want, I have no way of verifying it, and I'm simply not interested in doing that, just as I am sure that you can't verify that I have lived in 7 countries on 4 different continents, and leisurely traveled to more than 15.
      What interests me is why you want to present as fact, something that you know is subjective,and purely your own personal opinion. That's what you should be addressing.

    • @TataT10
      @TataT10 Год назад +23

      @yohighness you are contradicting yourself. Why did you come to ask me if I've lived in all 54 countries to make such claim. Thank you for making these observations about our country. I am a South African who happens to be of European descent and one of the good things about the country since 1994 that isn't often mentioned is freedom of association. Apartheid was a terrible system that divided us from others. I am 75 and remember being mystified and often quite vocal with my parents about aspects like how much the families on our farm were paid. My parents were definitely not flush with money because they had a farm. They employed people to help on the farm but those people were uneducated and unskilled so whilst they were free to leave if they weren't happy most of them stayed for years. I was never afraid of them and surprise surprise even now I leave my cottage door open at night to allow my dogs to go in and out. I share my home and everything in it with my housekeeper and her daughter and son and they bring friends and family to stay over from time to time. She is the daughter I didn't have despite her coming from the indigenous people. We have been together for 37 years. Of course during apartheid years this would have got both of us into big trouble and this is where freedom of association comes in.

    Thank you so much, "Freedom Chasers," for dispelling misconceptions about South Africa. This video will really help those who haven't been here yet and dream of visiting someday. Discovering this content might inspire them to ignore stereotypes and actually explore the country firsthand. It's disheartening that even fellow Africans from other countries sometimes reinforce these stereotypes about South Africa, even online.
    South Africans also face discrimination in some African countries just because they're from South Africa. It's not the case everywhere, but in the places where I and other South Africans have encountered this treatment. Let's hope we can unite as Africans and support each other rather than perpetuating negativity. We can certainly do better than that. Sending love from SA 🇿🇦 Shalom! 🙏🏽😊

    A lot of Africans are jealous of South Africa because of the success SA acquired over the years, especially west africans(mostly Nigerians). I see most of their hateful comments towards us on most African groups on social media. It's funny they come to our country in massive numbers and yet they claim we are xenophobic. These people will come here and claim certain areas to be theirs in our own land, they'll even hurt and do gruesome things to our people in those areas and expect us to do nothing. When we fight back as a result of that they'll shout xenophobia out of their lungs, it's ridiculous. South Africans are peace loving people, a lot of people see and know that to be a fact but we just can't allow any foreigner to disrespect us our own backyard. I believe any nation will defend themselves against traitors and bullies.

    We truly appreciate this instalment fam any you're right on the money about everything.Yes crime is an issue here but with millions of illegal foreigners here doing anything to survive,the problem is clearly not of our making alone.And because most African countries don't have resources and manpower to compile credible crime stats they all make it look like there's very little or no crime in their countries.Public infrastructure is funded by the state and even under apartheid this was the case so it's not true that SA was built only by certain people.And most private sector companies still get investment from the state so that they can build office blocks,malls,residential estates etc but a lot of people from the continent don't understand this because it's not done in their countries.
    We cannot downplay the many challenges we're faced with but SA is an amazing place to live and I'd never change it for any country on earth.Keep doing great fam,South Africa is now your home 🇿🇦.

    The Xenophobia topic is very VERY complex.
    I guarantee you that each time there is an episode of Xenophobia attacks in SA, it's a result of a crime that was committed by someone of a foreign nationality.
    Xenophobia attacks is obviously not the best way of responding to such situations.

    Sometimes you just have to thank God for protecting you and preventing you from experiencing or seeing some of these things. May He keep protecting you and prosper you during your stay in the rainbow nation...... Some of the things about South Africa have been more stereotyped from its past but no country is without its own problems and jealousy motivates other countries to envy South Africa or wish its downfall. I think onr thing that is contributing to SA being more safer now than it was in the past is changing how it was more democratic when dealing with hardcore armed criminals and gangs to being more ruthless in eliminating them. And to be honest, its foreigners mostly from other weaker unstable African countries that perpertuated the high profile crime rates than purely South Africans generally......

And to be honest some are caused by our fellow Africans and when S.A. Community react it is called xenophobic etc. We are all citizens of Africa . In our town, Hoedspruit ( pronounced Hoodsprate) which is close to the Kruger National Park we barely have crime and we are an amazing community where we really care for each other. Our farmers, mostly Afrikaners, do great work among their workers like building clinics and schools for them. Afrikaners are a hybrid of various Europeans. My ancestors were Dutch, French, British and Swedish. Afrikaans is a language in its own right. Originally based on Dutch , it evolved into a singular language unique to SA. Afrikaners are very hard-working, mostly God- fearing people who set great value on education. That explains much of their mindset.
    My great- grandfather had such high regard for education that he built a school and it was inaugurated roughly 6 years after the Anglo- Boer War of 1899- 1901. During this war against colonial Britain the farms were razed using scorched earth. The women and children were conveyed by cattle truck and ox wagon to concentration camps. The hardship endured included starvation, disease, sexual assault.
    28 000 women and mainly children died in these camps. History which is seldom told but told me by my grandparents who survived the camps!

      And very less population and almost no immigrants and illegal immigrants, the true reason of not having crime in Namibia 🇳🇦 and Botswana 🇧🇼 . But in SA , with over 64 million people and extra 16millions of illegal refugees , migrants and invaders which is the main reason for too much of highest-rated crime, poverty and unemployment of SACANS it's like a curse, but we aren't running away from our only homeland and make jealous and envious people happy. We'll keep on fixing problems the way we did when building this country, until we get it back on its track and what we deserve.
      I didn't know this well organized beautiful country is on sale CHEAP 😅 . But I know now the reason for the madness of flocking in droves.

    Good. The only footnote I'll add is that yes, Afrikaners have their roots in Europe (mostly Dutch), and yes, there is an Afrikaner town called Orania. However, they constitute a very small minority and they certainly don't represent the larger Afrikaner population. we generally just let them be.

    • @rainbowtrust6347
      @rainbowtrust6347 Год назад

      Only AAs have problems with Orania and we don't , because they
      are SAn Whites. They bought that piece of land and we blacks didn't buy our big provinces.
      We have provinces according to our tribes, and they were the only ones who had to buy their piece of land instead of getting a province even if it is 1/2 of what we majority of none whites get, because they are few and they are of SA nation.
      Dutch/BOERS are the architect of all structures and funder of SA. And we blacks are the sole owners of the land and resources for building SA. So we don't have problems of punishing any SA white descendants since we also owe to them for creating what other African countries have destroyed after their freedom and not maintaining what they have and fail to continue developing their countries, and we can't be judged for our decisions, and definitely cannot be blamed for all other citizens coming here as victims after failing to love and build their own countries too .
      We SA nation built this country.
      The hurting part is that, foreigners destroyed and vandalized everything. Today we don't have railway lines to other provinces, they ate them. We're dealing with energy because of vandalized power ⛮ properties to the point of losing our robots 🤖and stable electricity in homes, businesses because they're vandalizing as they claim their families are hungry back to their home countries.
      Our city buildings are vandalized, they're dirty and we are breathing bacterias because everyone says they are coming for greener pastures. Everything goes wrong in SA is a punishment and like curse to us, because it was published that we have uBuntu and even our government is abused and manipulated nationally and internationally because they think uBuntu is something that only SA must grant and deliver just like that to everyone without the blink of an eye 👁‍🗨. Failing to do so government is mocked, black paint for not following their orders.
      Or the government is forever reminded of how they were kept in their countries (.but they do not mention how our leaders were kept in camps, restricted human rights and were fed poison and die of it without having taken to hospitals, or were shot dead and kept in prison some of them, by these very African countries. Other countries like Malawi, Kenya didn't even try pretend to help SA. But today our country is dealing with lots of problems coming from these countries and others. And owners of the land haven't been attended to. And now our country is of grabs and decent houses and land are on sale and cheap and on sale ,but not for SACANS . While SACANS are helpless on the streets and homelessness and unemployment is the only thing these foreigners mocked SA people about " poor, slums, uneducated, lazy " after all hard work from our ancestors down to our generation that make this country what it is today. It's us black and white SAns who do the job. And the real lazy people are from our government , who didn't bother to do unique research and look back to what brought them into becoming government.of SA. Natives owes nobody nothing.
      Our government paid the bill even more than they must. The only countries that never come to collect, .is Russia and Cuba and have never send their citizens to collect from the country for their
      assistance . SA owes these 2 countries and they are the true inspiration to most of us. Government should have considered them especially Cuba that needs help. My true opinion of course.

In South Africa (and indeed in all African countries), people will interact with you differently since they view you as primarily American. It is similar to how a lot of people in the US interacted with me primarily as an immigrant/African as opposed to an African American. That's why the African experience in the US is markedly different from that of African Americans.
    Keep up the good work, and good luck to you as you relocate to South Africa

    People are here just to destroy our country not to live with us in Peace.
    Beautiful suburbs which we once proud of are drug places where local people are not allowed to even walk around and it happens in our country
    Our Constitution allow this nonsense to happen.
