I was told by fieldpiece that in such a small area the deviations are going to be great between pump n probe compared to when u do a whole system because less air movement in the space

Just ordered on of the 552i from Valuetesters for just a little over $161. coming in via fedex. That will be fun to play with for sure when dealing with the small compressor units. Now just have to get one of the Navac units. Already have the smart probes and a 557 manifold, not the 557s. Got the smart probes setup for charging systems with just the one hose.

What’s your reasoning for only using it for small compressor units?

    • @JoeCdaYT

@@outthemoney3361 just saying the small ones are fun. I will still be using it on larger systems. I just mostly deal with small units.

That's a cool pump. I've been using the Testo probes and old app for a bit now but I got the short range Set of 2 clamps and 2 pressure probes and they kind of suck they remind me of the long phone cord on the old land line . I can stand next to the condenser and watch pressures but I cant go in the box and see the pressures or adjust superheat didn't know they have a vacuum probe.

I'm looking forward to seeing it on a system. I have gone through 2 micron guages in 6 months. One was a testo 552 (not a smart probe) and the other was a fieldpiece svg3. The fieldpiece did one install. When I took it off, it still said 370 microns and as far as I know it still does. Idk what keeps killing them, I keep them clean and never exposed either to more than 5 psi. I really want my next micron guage to last.

@@captainmigs1655 true, I think I had some oil in my svg3 because I blew it out with some liquid butane and it works again. I just used one of those butane refill tanks and pushed it on one side of the valve core depressor, so it sprayed down into the sensor and carried out any debris or oil that was in there. Butane and propane work great for cleaning hoses, guages, and sensors.

Ball valves on vacuum pumps were never meant for holding deep vacuum.
Good enough to stop air from sucking back in the system and good enough to stop oil from being sucked out of the vacuum pump into the system.
