Jim sang Moonlight Drive to Manzarek using just his vocals...they said let’s start a band and the rest was history. In connection with this particular song, in Robbie Kriegers first rehearsal/audition with the Doors, he got out his slide guitar played what his plays in this footage...an awesome track. This performance and period is one where they are in total charge of there craft...playing with abandoned joy yet at the same time completely safe in there melody...a rare band indeed. Morrison has no equal as a lead man. America’s greatest band will never be forgotten.x

@Francesco Del Gesso They did meet earlier in the motel. Paul Ferrera was the guy who tells that story. He mentions in his book that they only spoke briefly in the motel about playing big stadiums. Jagger who just arrived after a long flight wouldn't have any acid on him. No one knows where Jim would have got it from but he hadn't droppec until after dinner. Plus, you look into Mick himself he certainly wasn't a big druggie. A guy who was rolling in dope.

He mentions that tim Hardin was also there but missed mick due to shooting up in the bathroom. Obviously it was a quick greeting until dinner before the show. I'd believe a guy who was there over a journo.
